✗ Not being able to choose what thoughts he hears (sometimes you don't wanna know)

Goals (At Least 1):
★ To see the serial killer dead or behind bars (dead would be preferable). Also to maybe one day open his own small kennel, where he knows the animals will be treated right. And to buy his own land, build himself a house and live a nice, simple, quiet life.
Personality: Wes is a pretty friendly, outgoing guy. He's confident, but not really egotistical, and isn't afraid to put himself out there because rejection is just a part of life. He tends to be flirtatious around girls he finds attractive and a lot of times he might throw out a cheesy line in hopes of getting a laugh or a smile. He tries to be chivalrous, opening the door for a lady and that sort of thing, or giving a compliment to make her feel good about herself.
Wes likes animals as a whole but he adores working with dogs. Often he likes to go spend time with just his Yorkie, Chicken, finding the dog's presence comforting probably because he can't hear ever negative thought coming out of his furry little head. Whenever he can, Wes takes Chicken with him everywhere. If a bad pickup line doesn't do the trick, Chicken's usually a pretty good conversation starter with the ladies.
One thing that might surprise people he meets is that Wes is a pretty domestic guy. He cooks, he cleans, he does yard work and around-the-house maintenance and repairs. He's very much a DIY sort of guy. He's not afraid of hard work. In fact, he almost always has some sort of project he's working on in his free time.

History:
The Lawson brothers are Memphis born and raised, growing up in a family community that was all about good Southern food, music and hospitality. Growing up, Wes learned a lot of the typical old-fashioned life lessons from his parents about putting a lady on a pedestal and how do be the man of the house. As a child, he was often trying to mimic his hard-working father when he worked, but until he was able to use proper tools, he did a lot of work with Legos and model cars. When he could, he would assist his father with his home improvement projects, or when he would do work on the car. Somehow he always seemed to know what tool Frank would need before he asked for it. Wes was too young to think anything of it, but his father knew better. His son had a gift, and this didn't really come as a surprise because apparently this sort of thing ran deep in their family.
Wes was only three when his little brother Jacob was born. At first, Wes was a jealous little thing, because up until now he had pretty much all of his mommy's attention, and now here was this pink blob wrapped in a blanket that kept pulling her away with its crying and its smells. So for a little while, Wes did his share of running off to his room and having a tantrum, feeling like she couldn't possibly love him anymore if she loved that squishy thing. But then his mother came to tuck him in one night and she explained to him that she didn't love him any less... that when Jacob was born, her heart just grew so that she could love them both. She told him that, if he would give his little brother a chance, that his heart could grow too. So he decided to give the baby the benefit of the doubt because he wanted a big heart like his mom.
From that point on, he also became his Mommy's helper. Between assisting his dad with odd jobs around the house and helping his mom with the baby, he kept busy. He really came to pride himself on being a big brother, and as the years passed, it was evident that his heard had grown like his mother said, because he loved his little brother immensely.
When Wes was nine years old, the Lawson family were on vacation at their Summer lake house. The brothers were taking turns jumping off of the dock into the water, splashing and laughing and having a great time. So there was Wes, standing on the edge of the dock with a huge smile on his face, having just watched his little brother cannonball into the lake water. He waited for Jacob to surface, at first thinking that his little brother was just goofing off, but when the first minute or so passed he became increasingly concerned. And then he heard it, muffled like it was underwater but still loud and clear in his ear. Jacob was crying... panicking... stuck. Wes screamed for help and then quickly jumped in and opened his eyes in the murky water, looking around until he discovered that his baby brother had gotten snagged on a bit of debris and wasn't able to detangle himself. Wes ended up pulling an unconscious Jacob from the lake as his parents came rushing out of the house. He moved away as his mom performed CPR on Jacob and was relieved beyond belief when he spit out water and started to breathe again.
That was the day a lot of things changed for Wes. Not only did he start becoming more protective over his brother (maybe overprotective at times), but he also realized that there was no way that his unconscious brother could have been screaming for help. After talking with his Dad about it, he learned that their were families with psychic abilities considered 'royal families', and that theirs was one of them. Although he had been hearing random thoughts all his life, the trauma of that afternoon seemed to have kicked his abilities into high gear. He started hearing thoughts no matter where he was... good thoughts, bad thoughts... and he couldn't shut them off. The days... weeks went by and Wes felt like his head was going to explode. Feeling the need to get away, he started going off on bike rides around the neighborhood just to clear his head, and that was how he met Riley Thompson, who he eventually came to found out also was a member of one of the royal families of psychics.
As teenagers, the Lawson brothers and RJ also met a pretty girl named Marissa, another psychic. Wes was definitely interested in her, but hearing from RJ's subconscious that he was really into her, Wes chose to back off and not pursue her. Still, he couldn't help feeling a little jealous, particularly when they started dating and Marissa seemed just as smitten with RJ as he was with her. To distract himself from his heartbreak and from the overwhelming thoughts of the people around him, he started volunteering at the local animal shelter some evenings after school and weekends. Wes found peace among these animals that he hadn't felt in a long time. They were good companions and he didn't have to deal with listening to every last thought that crossed their minds.
After high school, Wes pursued a career in animal care and training. It never was a great paying job, but it was something that he loved. And Wes was a simple guy with simple needs. He wanted to buy a big plot of open land and build a house on it and just live a quiet, settled down life. He continued his work with animals but also took odd jobs here and there, making repairs and home improvements for neighbors just to collect a little bit of money on the side to save for his dream.
One night not long ago, the four friends went together to a party in the woods. It was one of those word of mouth things where honestly nobody even really remembered whose idea it was to go but somehow they all ended up there anyway. There was music, drinking, lots of socializing and good times, until the first screams rang out. A stranger crashed the party, murdering innocent people in his search for, Wes realized by reading the man's thoughts, psychics like he and his friends... but it was Jacob that he was truly after. Realizing how much danger they were in, he attempted to usher his friends back to the car. When Marissa was caught, his heart dropped in his stomach as he watched in horror as the murderer slit her throat. Even though he was long over that teenage crush, she was still a really close friend, and her death was something that he wouldn't be able to get over for a long time. But in this moment, when RJ tried going back for her, Wes' protective nature led him to dragging his grieving friend away from the scene. He, RJ and Jacob managed to escape that night but, knowing that this stranger was out for them, they fled Memphis together and have been on the run since.

RP Sample: The motion of Ellen's wave caught the corner of Dean's eye and he made his way over to her, sliding into the booth across from her. A waitress came over and he quickly asked for black coffee and 'what she's having', not really bothering with the menu because he wasn't in the mood to dilly-dally around with breakfast foods when there were more important things on his mind. "Hey Ellen," he said after the petite, middle-aged woman walked away, managing a small half-smile for his old friend that didn't quite reach his weary eyes. "You look good."
Dean cast a glance over his shoulder, reaching into his inner jacket pocket to be sure for the third time that everything he would need was in reach. It was times like this that he wished he had some way of knowing who was a demon and who wasn't short of splashing everyone in the establishment with holy water. That was just something he couldn't do, no matter how much he might want to. These last couple of years had really made him paranoid.
After scanning the room again he finally turned back around to face Ellen, leaning forward a little and keeping his voice low as he grabbed the ketchup bottle and shook it a little, making sure it wasn't empty. "So what's the 411?"
