Full Name: Bridgette Martha Abiona
Nickname/Alias: Bridge, Brid, Martha
Age/Date Of Birth: 18, 24th July
Race: Human
Occupation: Student
Species Group: Natural witch
Play-By: Nyadak ‘Duckie’ Thot
Abilities
Bridge learned most of her magic from her mother, Winnie. While most of her knowledge relates to domestic spell casting, she also knows a little ancient magic owing to her mother’s Sudanese origins. The darkest magic she knows is a jinx which gives the victim rabbit ears, which she thinks is hilarious to use on her friends. She’ll undo the spell after her victim buys her a can of Coke.
Conjuring: A spell which Bridge is desperate to master. She’d love to make objects appear upon a whim, but has only ever managed to summon so much as a pen.
Divination: Specifically, palm reading and runes. Her mother taught her this art, but Bridge considers it a rather pointless branch of magic herself. Often, she will pretend to read her friends’ palms and tell them they will have an extortionate amount of children, or die in a horrific accident within the next 30 seconds. That isn’t to say, however, that Bridge is no good at divination. Thanks to her mother’s genes and good teaching, she is actually very good at it- but she prefers not to delve into the doom and gloom of the future.
Potions: Again, Bridge’s knowledge here is largely domestic, but Winnie also taught her more traditional potions so she can continue family traditions.
Pyrokinesis: The ability to conjure fire is a useful one for potion brewing, but Bridge finds the spell a little temperamental, so usually sticks to a box of matches instead.
Spells: Bridge can perform simple incantations by using objects found around the house (a witch’s house, that is). Her mother taught her a little about Tarot cards, too.
Spirit communication: Bridge has been attempting to practise in order to contact her father, but has had no luck as of yet.
Talisman: Her mother gave her an onyx talisman to wear at all times, as a necklace. It was intended to protect her daughter from general harm, and keep her safe while she travels around London. Bridge has also created talismans of her own, and charmed a few simple gold bracelets to keep her and her friends ‘safe from the fuckbois’.
Telekinesis: One of Bridge’s earliest abilities. When she was little, she used to gleefully make small objects fly around the house, much to the amusement and exasperation of her parents, but the fun has somewhat worn off now she’s matured into a young adult. She still uses it when she needs something that’s just out of her reach, however.
Bridge is very much a modern witch, and generally uses her magic for things like boosting her cell phone reception, or else to drop her sneakers into a cleansing potion after a particularly muddy run through the park. She also finds glamour magic particularly enticing, and often practises charming her lip colour to match her outfits. That said, she’s been searching for a hair growth spell to no avail.

Personality: A lithe 5'10, Bridge's naturally slim figure is aided by her dedication to the school's track team. Her deep umber skin is in irritatingly perfect condition, and she raves about the benefits of clean eating and drinking plenty of water, but she's been trying to grow out her natural hair for years and had painfully slow results. Instead, she wears her hair long, dark, and pin straight. She cuts her fringe alarmingly short, but does so to show off her doll-like face. Her eyes are black as obsidian, and are piercing in a way that suggests her to be reading you.
Among the most popular girls in school, Bridge is extroverted, loud, outspoken, and vain. Her exuberance, especially when surrounded by the friends who share her vivacious energy, can sometimes make her seem a little obnoxious, but she never intends to be so. That isn't to say, however, that she manipulates her popularity to put others down- on the contrary, she is vehemently against bullying of any kind. She's generous and kind, as her parents raised her to be, and volunteers her time to charitable events along with her mother. Though she is a dedicated athlete, and restricts her diet accordingly, she has a wide circle of friends and spends most of her time with them. As far as fashion is concerned, she loves to fritter away her pay check in the various edgy boutiques and charity shops, hunting for bold prints and bright colours that look so good against her deep complexion.

Parents: Bridgette's parents, both witches, were originally from Sudan, and they moved to London as a young couple looking for work. Her mother, Winnie, 45, is her rock. Benjamin, her father, died in a freak accident at work when she was only 5, but she has very fond memories of him. He was a warm, generous man, who told his little girl that she could achieve her wildest dreams, if she was dedicated and enthusiastic. Likewise, her mother is a strong advocate of hard work, and is immensely proud of Bridgette’s academic and sporting success. Winnie is also a fantastic chef, and Bridge loves coming home, whether it be from a tough work out or a fun day with friends, to a freshly cooked meal.
Siblings: None.
Other Family: She has family in Sudan, and she and her mother try to visit them once a year.
Important Others: Bridge has a wide circle of friends, but the most important person in her life is her mother; her role model.
History: Bridgette lived in London all her life. Her parents, however, moved to the UK from Sudan in 1991 after they married, where they set up their lives in Lewisham. 8 years later, Bridge was born, intended to be the first of many, but Charles tragically died in a freak accident at work when his daughter was just 5 years old. Without her husband's income, Winnie was forced to sell the house they had worked so hard for, and downsized to a small two bed flat.
Though her childhood was struck by tragedy, Bridgette didn't let the loss of her father bring her down. Making him, and her mother, her driving force and inspiration has spurred Bridge on to achieve as best she can in every aspect of her life. She had a little difficulty adjusting to living in a sky rise apartment, especially since she grew up in such a lovely suburban neighbourhood, but once she acclimatised to the new area she found it had a greater sense of community- and saw the stairs as a free workout.
As such a driven young woman, Bridgette has always claimed she doesn't have time for relationships. She can be flirty around boys she's vaguely interested in, but never sees it through. On the inside, however, she's jealous of her friends with boyfriends, and wishes she could find the same kind of love while she's still young.
Now 18, Bridge is a natural born leader; dramatic, hardworking, and self-confident, she has thus far been able to achieve everything she has set her mind to. Balancing her academics and her sport has been a little difficult, but Bridge is an enthusiastic individual who will not be brought down by a challenge. She can be a little self-centred, at times, but she has a compassionate heart and tries to keep her ego in check.

RP Sample: Bridgette, exhausted from the gym yet still refusing to take the lift, plodded up the final flight of stairs before reaching the flat she shared with her mother, ‘Mum, I’m home,’ she yelled as she fished her keys from the zip pocket of her gym bag, and unlocked the door. The smell of bamia mis siga, an okra and beef stew, hit her as she pushed the door open, and she inhaled deeply with a smile, ‘Oi, you finally made it! Took you long enough,’ she teased, throwing her bag into her room as she made her way to the kitchen at the back of their flat.
‘Especially for my talented baby,’ Winnie replied, standing by the stove and stirring the contents of a large pan. She looked over her daughter as she entered, and clicked her tongue, ‘Why do you look so beautiful even when you’re so sweaty? Tell me, it’s not fair.’
Bridgette rolled her eyes, but didn’t protest her mother’s compliment. She stretched to retrieve a pair of plates from the cupboard above the microwave, and picked out two sets of cutlery from the draw below. Usually, she would shower when she got home from the gym, but she couldn’t resist eating her mother’s freshly cooked meal first, not when it was so conveniently timed.
