Formerly aligned with the Vampire Council, Hatchet was once part of a roving band of bandits who robbed from whoever they met. They were ruthless and cunning, but they encountered a job that was much too high grade for them and they were butchered by a vampire. All except for Hatchet awoke in the remains of the settlement they had just torched. He found a young girl named Annabelle and, with no one else to take care of her, the girl managed to pull some humanity out of him. He took care of the girl and brought her across the wasteland where they eventually encountered the Vampire Council, who took them in and cared for Annabelle. Something happened however when a small attack from Lyle the Destroyer ended up killing Annabelle, and nearly killing Hatchet. A European Vampire rushed to his aid as he was dying, but applied the blood a second too late and he died right after it was given to him, just to awake as a vampire himself. Now with new power at his fingertips, he went to war alongside Robin Winchester and the Council against the Destroyer, and remained with the Council up to the Collapse, where the remains of the Council who survived it assembled their remaining might and began to help re-establish the United State from a base in New York City until he volunteered to join the group going back in time. They needed all hands on deck for this, to save everyone. He's not all that bright, but he's got good intentions.

Roland was a powerful witch who was living in Paris with Robin arrived, assisting in the Water Revolt. He belileved the revolt had noble intentions under Bethany Clark, but things took a drastic turn when Bethany took power and became an even worse tyrant than those they had before. He became something of a rights activist in Paris, using The Red Drifter as something of a martyr since it was believed to the citizens of Paris that Bethany had killed the vampire when she spoke out against what she was doing to Paris. When there were attempts to plant the seeds of revolution again, they were destroyed by Beth's supporters and Roland was forced to flee and was forced to live on his own for decades.
He and Robin eventually reconnected in Russia, where they both volunteered to take the plunge back in time.

After the departure of Robin Winchester, it was left to the Vampire Council and the Samaritans, working side by side to help secure their region. In addition, not long after the War against the Destroyer and his men ended - Cecil Arkwright, the Good Samaritan, took ill. His daughter, Maribelle, took charge and led them into her adult years where she would find this man, who was a child left behind by a family who did not want him due to him being a witch. Bringing him to the Samaritan's buried church, she taught him to fight while the other Samaritans taught him to use his magic to the signature weapon of the Samaritans; chains. When he got older he enchanted a series of magical chains with sharp metal links that he could summon to his body at any time and fight with and manipulate with magic spells.
He stayed with the Samaritans through to the Collapse, where suddenly, once it happened, all of the Samaritans vanished and he was alone - the Last Samaritan. He took on the mantle of The Good Samaritan and began wandering the new, uncertain world - helping wherever he could, asking for nothing in return, and slaying evil. Eventually deciding that going back in time was the best way to stop the worst from happening.

About five years after the death of Merrick, when Robin fell into a haze of violence and wandering, Robin entered a race at a settlement with her car and met her, the Sandrunner, the champion of that track. They seemed to get along alright - as weird as Robin was, and she was interested in her more than a little bit. Robin ended up winning the race against her, breaking her winning streak - but that was fine in her books because shortly after she convinced Robin to have a drink with her, and the drink led to other things... which led to worse things when Robin started drinking her blood. She died with the Caribbean Vampires saliva in her veins and woke up a day later in her bed as a newly made vampire herself, and the woman she'd been so interested in - who killed her - being out of sight. Whether she's embraced or tried to distance herself from her new life is up in the air.
