❤ Magic - She absolutely loves enhancing her magical knowledge. She has a high respect for magic and always exercises great caution with every spell and potion she does.
❤ Learning New Things - Evelyn loves learning things. It's always fun to discover things she never thought of before and finding new ways to look at life, magic and the world
❤ Nature - Evelyn has a great respect for nature. She feels comfortable being out in it for hours at a time and it helps ground her when things are chaotic
Dislikes:
✗ Sailing - After being aboard the Titanic, she can't stand boats or ships.
✗ Modern Technology - Technology, although respectable, takes away from the nature around everyone and has a common ground of causing a disengaged behavior among people and Evelyn just does not like it.
✗ Darkness - She avoids anything remotely dark or evil to the core, as well as avoids drama. She ain't about that life
Fears:
☬ Big Bodies of Open Water - She has a great fear of another Titanic incident and avoids finding herself in another similar situation as best as she can
☬ Losing her Magic - She's so in tune with magic that the idea of not being able to have it terrifies her. She does everything she can to ensure she keeps that connection strong and pure.
☬ Losing Someone She Loves Again - After the loss of her brother, she always had a fear of losing someone she loves so she prevents getting close to people so the risk isn't there.
Goals:
★ Avoiding the Black Rose coven and just trying to live a relatively happy life.
Personality: Evelyn is a resourceful, intelligent, witty woman. She knows what she wants in life and how to get it. She's bold and honest and has no time for drama or anything of the sort. It never interested her when she was a young girl and it doesn't interest her now.
Evelyn also has a hard time forming bonds with people. She's generally difficult to get close to, particularly for women. She has found that women tend to thrive in dramatic lives and she prefers to find companionship in men. They don't thrive in drama and it's much easier for her to surround herself with men who won't cause her grief anyway.
Although it's hard to get past her shell, once someone does, she's a very kind, warm, loving person. She's fiercely protective of those she forms bonds with and absolutely despises dishonesty and disloyalty. She cannot stand the Black Rose Coven and avoids them like the plague, hating them as much as she hates herself over the loss of her brother.
She suffers from survivor's guilt, both from her brother's death and from surviving the Titanic. She often spends a lot of time just sitting quietly, staring off into space, reliving those horrible moments of her past over and over again, to remind her of what happens when she gets close to people. She'll never admit it, but she gets lonely sometimes. But it's a price to pay for survival.

History: Evelyn was born during the Victorian Era, within the United Kingdom. She had an older brother named George and the two were incredibly close. They were raised by their parents who taught them witchcraft, and in such a dark time it was very dangerous to practice the craft without being lynched or burned at the stake. However, they both learned the craft and created their own little tricks. They were incredibly powerful witches and a coven took interest in them. They wanted to recruit the two siblings, and they were ecstatic... Little did they know what this coven was all about. It was called the Black Rose Coven and it was known and feared by many. Without knowing this, the two siblings took the orientation test. They were both locked in strange chambers, separated only by bars but the other 3 walls were made of stone. Sigils were painted on the ceiling, high above their heads, and without warning, they began to glow. A transfer began to take place and both siblings fell to their knees and screamed in agony. The sigils were draining their magic and sending it to the other sibling, and it went back and forth. It was a game of magical tug of war. They had no control over their magic and couldn't stop the pull, and in the end, it was Evelyn's magic that overpowered her brothers and pulled his own into her. This caused her brother to fall to the ground, unconscious. She screamed and reached through the bars to try and grab her brother as members of the coven came inside and dragged him away. They locked him inside a tomb and buried him in an unknown location. Evelyn managed to escape and began trying to find where they kept her brother but she couldn't. She lost him. She killed him. She felt like she was a monster.
Ashamed of the loss of her brother and unable to face her parents again, Evelyn continued to avoid the Black Rose Coven and never saw her parents again. The grief of her own brother’s death at her hands and the desperate hatred and anger of the Black Rose Coven kept her going in life. She used her magic to hide, often taking on disguises to appear like someone else to avoid run-ins. Many years passed as she continued to hide and avoid things. Her powerful magic allowed her to have somewhat normal lives, though she never stayed in one place very long.
Part of the reason why she moved over and over is shortly after losing her brother, she met and fell in love with a young hunter. The man was there for her as she mourned her loss of her brother and helped her to settle her grief and urged her to move past it. However, when it became revealed she was a witch, the man began to hunt her and tried to kill her. Heartbroken and betrayed, she fled into the night.
Soon, she became aware of the building of the RMS Titanic that would travel from England to New York on a long cruise. The more time passed and the more she heard of it, the more it began to intrigue her. She heard some rumors of a magical artifact being on board and that intrigued her enough to purchase a ticket and load up on the RMS Titanic for the fateful trip, unaware of what her time on the ship would do for her in the future.
Aboard the ship, she met a young man named William. The two struck up a bond and spent a lot of time conversing. As the days passed, Evelyn found herself more and more interested in the young man. He was kind, respectful, considerate and she felt warm every time she spoke to him. She found herself developing an attraction to him and was thoroughly enjoying him. Perhaps for once, her life was going to change.
Then, that fateful night occurred. Evelyn was awoken during the night by screams after the ship hit an iceberg and began to sink. She immediately tried to find William but no luck. Panicked, she used her magic to subtly make herself look like a pregnant woman to promise she would get on one of the ships to survive. She watched in horror as the ship started to sink, snapped apart, and saw thousands of lives be wiped out. The hours afterward as she stayed aboard the small boat awaiting rescue were horrible. She watched as they passed so many men, women, children, and elderly who never made it, floating frozen in the water. All she could do was cry, even when no more tears came. It was like losing her brother all over again. Once more, she found herself unable to save lives and mourned the loss of the man she met, fearing he, too, had perished under the water.
She got to New York and started a new life in America, continuing to dodge and weave around the Black Rose Coven members. But this time, she refused to allow herself to grow close to anyone. She was always the woman who kept everyone at arm’s length, rarely affording them to know her name let alone anything about her.
Eventually, a young man named Aiden happened across her path. The two teamed up and helped take down a group of witches who were sapping the life forces of others, a huge insult to magic as far as Evelyn was concerned. The young man proved to be very capable and in payment, she gave him a reading. She discovered some darker shadows hiding in his past and pointed him down the path to resolving these shadows, as well as giving him a potion to help with his dreams. Against her better judgment, they exchanged contact information and she sent him on his way. He was the only one who knew her and she had a feeling her trust in him was well placed.
Of course, this was not the first time she had someone cross her path, though that was the only time she broke her own vow of distrust to help. Another young man, named Seth Baldwin, crossed her path many years back. He was seeking assistance in breaking a curse upon him. Evelyn pointed him away from her as he seemed adamant about finding witches to help him. Her distrust of people and skepticism made her not want to help a man she hardly knew, let alone one who was seeking witches actively. It made her uneasy as she did want to sincerely help. He looked so miserable. But she couldn’t risk revealing herself.
Soon, the modern world came and went and Evelyn had to adapt to the world around her. Still the strong, intelligent witch, she adapted and changed her life. Still on the run from the Black Rose Coven, she threw her things into the back of her car and took off down the road to find the next place to settle for a few decades of relief, unaware of the large ‘Welcome to Zeppelin City’ sign that signaled her years of running was at its end.

RP Sample: Angie swept back her hair from her eyes, putting a strand behind her ear as she glanced at the map she held on the steering wheel. From her research- and digging through her grandfather's things most of the summer- she was close. The witch she was after was only a few miles away at this point. Apparently she opted to live on a farm house, away from any unsuspecting humans who would stumble over her. And anyone who was stupid enough would never be found again. After all, a thousand things could happen out in the middle of nowhere. A frown creased her lips at that. Everything was just too perfectly set up. She wouldn't be surprised if the witch answered looking like an old woman. It would be a sick sense of irony that made her stomach flip. Humor in the moment was lost to her.
Turning the black truck down the gravel road towards a distant farmhouse, Angie quickly put the map on the passenger seat. It was only a mile away, but it felt like a lifetime. With her pistol hidden inside of the jacket she wore, she quickly adjusted her hair and her appearance to look like that of a ditzy college student who had lost their way. It was the only way she'd be able to get through the door. Inhaling for a moment, she reached in her pocket and pulled out a stick of gum to chew on, snapping and popping it to get in the feel of it.
Moments later, she parked her truck beside an older car in the driveway. Apparently brooms are out of style still. she thought sourly. The farmhouse was brightly colored with a wraparound porch. It looked like a grandmother's house with the lawn ornaments and everything. Tricky witch. She moved out of the truck and walked up to the door, ringing the doorbell before looking around, feigning interest. In all reality, she was looking for any exterior telltale signs of witchcraft. Nothing looked out of the ordinary. But inside would tell her different. A moment later, an older woman answered the door curiously, smiling a bit, clearly surprised. "Hi. Sorry to be a bother, but my truck is completely out of gas and my cell is out of service. Can I borrow your phone to call a tow truck?" The older woman nodded and allowed her in. The gun in her pocket felt heavy. At least with it being a farm house, no one would know what happened. Taking her first step into the house, Angie knew that there was no more going back after this. It was just the beginning.
