Full Name: Set
Nickname/Alias: Seth. Suetekh. Lord of the Desert. Ruler of the South. God of war, chaos and storms. Instigator of Confusion. Destroyer. Bringer of Famine and Drought. Former God of Love and Protection. Slayer of Apophis. The Red God. Trickster. (Also various human aliases)
Age/Date Of Birth: Born c. 3150 BCE
Race: Egyptian God
Occupation: God of Storms, Deserts and Chaos
Species Group: Gods
Play-By: Tarek Naguib
Abilities
Immortal: He will not age nor die, nor suffer from illness or injury from conventional weapons.
Invulnerability: He can be wounded only by other Gods who are stronger than him, or items/rituals specifically designed to harm Gods. Conventional weaponry does no damage. He is immune to pain, physical ailments, and disease (Unless caused by another God of his caliber or greater). He can be wounded by archangels or princes of Hell, though the stubborn bastard will make it a fight.
Weather Manipulation: He is able to create and control all manner of storm systems (sand storms being his favorite) as well as bring intense droughts on a whim. Naturally occurring storms can also be controlled and dissipated/increased at his discretion. He can bend storms around him to walk through their force undisturbed. Flash floods are another forte of his, though this requires there to be a river nearby. However storms created by a being of greater power than him or by certain rituals can prove to be beyond his means to control.
Superhuman Strength: He is far stronger than humans and most other creatures, being able to go toe to toe with a seraphim. He is one of the strongest of the Egyptian deities, with few being stronger. He can, however, be over-powered by archangels or a prince of hell after a stubborn fight.
Superhuman Reflexes: He is more agile than humans and various lesser creatures.
Superhuman Speed: He can move faster than humans and many creatures, though some other Gods (ie Hermes) and beings such as archangels and European vampires can move faster.
Super Stamina: Regardless of what he goes through, he will not tire easily.
Teleportation: Like many Gods, Set can teleport wherever he desires on a whim.
Shapeshifting: Set can change his form to look like anyone he knows, or a specific cast of animals (ox, oryx, hippo, bull, crocodile, and panther). Though he often uses this ability to shift to either his human or Salawa (sha) forms. His default (natural) form is the animal-headed shape he is often depicted as in ancient works of Egyptian art, a form which he often will resume when needing to focus while using vast power or just being an ass who wants to intimidate/scare people.
Enhanced Senses: He is able to sense other supernatural beings, able to identify them as being angels, demons, reapers, creatures, or other gods. He cannot identify which creature someone is unless he knows a member of their species well enough to get a gasp on their tell tale signs (ie sphinxes and phoenixes).
Omnilinguism: The ability to understand any language without training in it.
Telekinesis: The ability to move objects with one's mind. Set mostly uses this to either toy with people or move annoying ones away from him.
Spell Casting: Using charms, hexes, rituals, etc to change or control events. While he's not anywhere near as adept as Isis when it comes to spells casting and magic overall, that doesn't mean that Set has no idea how to go about rituals and the like. He just doesn't always turn to it for his needs.
Weaknesses:
Divine Weapons: Weapons such as angel blades and those made by/for other Gods can cause him either injury or death, depending on how they are used.
The Colt: While not known what effect it has against his kind, this has the potential to kill Set. He'd rather not find out the hard way.
Rituals: Specific rituals assigned to him will either kill him or incapacitate him for a time.
Higher Deities/Beings: Stronger Gods, Archangels, and Princes of Hell all have the power to gravely injure or otherwise destroy Set.

Likes (At Least 3):
❤ Control - He likes being in control, especially over other people. It gives his ego a boost and makes him feel powerful.
❤ Sex - Set has had many consorts over the centuries (much to the infuriation of his first wife no doubt), and likes getting a taste of what every region in the world has to offer. He's still a bit picky about what attracts him to take some one to bed, though. And while he likes them ladies, the occasional a man with a pretty face has a chance to be a target as well.
❤ The desert - Being alone in the desert helps him think and regain control of himself when he has become too wound up. It's his home more than any place in the world, even if he still makes a huge show about wanting to be Pharaoh and living with riches.
❤ Chaos - He thrives in creating chaos as, well...he's a god of chaos. He finds Order and Perfection to be stagnant forces, and will often work to sow chaos and confusion wherever he goes.
Dislikes (At Least 3):
✗ Lettuce - He's had a particularly uncomfortable (and historical) incident regarding this vegetable, and now avoids it as much as he can.
✗ Osiris - He has always been jealous of his brother for the status and power he held. He absolutely loathes him.
✗ Horus - Another relative he loathes, as his numerous conflicts with his nephew over the centuries have proven. He doesn't hate him as much but he still finds him to be an annoying brat.
✗ Organization - Ugh, just do away with it.
Fears (At Least 2):
☬ Being forgotten
☬ Being powerless
Goals (At Least 1):
★To be properly worshiped again like he was in centuries past.
★ To find what is powerful enough to keep Gods contained in the town.
Personality: Set often comes across as a rather dark, brooding and hostile individual. And to be honest, he does have violent tendencies. More often then not though, this comes from how he feels about you. Set has issues of jealousy and when someone makes him jealous or envious, he gets violent towards them. He'd like to say he's improved on this in the last couple centuries, but sometimes it can still be easily triggered by the right kind of people. Being short-tempered probably doesn't help with this either. Set is generally a mean man, who takes pleasure in teasing people (not in a friendly way) and getting them riled up. He can hold a grudge for a long time (as seen in his centuries long conflicts with his family), and will be spiteful and petty towards those he feels has wronged him.
Set is incredibly passionate about the things he enjoys and in all things he does. It makes it easy to see if he's doing something because he wants to or not, as he will clearly show if something is boring him. When he has a mind to accomplish something, Set is difficult to dissuade from it. Even if he fails, he will keep trying to succeed. He has little that he fears, and is quite bold and daring at everything he does. Set cannot tolerate boring or annoying people, and if someone annoys him enough he will cut the interaction short and either push them away or just leave himself. He only tolerates these kinds of interactions if he has ulterior motives behind it, and doesn't hesitate to use people to further his own goals and as a means to the end.

History:
Set began his life violently, clawing his way out of Nut's womb. This would foreshadow the part he would come to play in life, and the violent disorder and chaos he would sow. As he grew older, he would grow to develop feelings for his beautiful sister Isis. Feelings that then became obsession when his brother Osiris took Isis to be his sister-wife. This infuriated Set and left him feeling cheated, but he quelled these emotions as he in turn married Nephthys, had a few kids, settled down....somewhat. Lies. He isn't one for just 'settling'. The fact that Osiris was the king never sat well with him, and he only grew more bitter and jealous towards his brother as time went on.
When Osiris ruled over Egypt, he began to make many changes and brought thing such as wheat, barley, grapes and wine, and even tools to the land. Things vastly improved from a time of a barbaric and cannibalistic society. The king brought stability and order to the land (ew. Who needs order), but eventually he felt he needed to share this with more of the world. So he left Isis to rule in his absence while he went on an expedition to bring these advancements to the world. While he was gone, Isis proved to be a competent ruler and encountered few problems. However, not everyone was pleased with the arrangement. Set, for one, had his jealously flare up at what Osiris achieved, and so he plotted to assassinate him.
He gathered 72 conspirators (including even the queen of Ethiopia) and began to work on his plan to take down his brother once he had returned. With the sly work of a trickster, Set crafted a highly ornate sarcophagus that precisely matched the measurements of Osiris's body. Then, once that was done, Set brought the box to a party that he knew his brother would be at, and informed everyone that whoever could fit in the box would win it. Of course everyone had to try, because the box was so positively gorgeous that they could hardly imagine not getting their hands on it. However, much like those who tried to pull Excalibur from its stone, none who tried could fit the box. Until Osiris. When he laid down in it, he found it to be his perfect match - exactly as Set had planned. Quickly, he and his conspirators nailed the lid shut and sealed it with molten lead.
While the majority of his fellows dealt with the shocked party goers, Set and a select number hauled the box to the Nile as Osiris suffocated within. Tossing it in, Set watched it float to sea and felt a spark of triumph. He didn't, however, account for that fact that Isis would feel her husband's death. While she was in the village of Chemmis, near Thebes, she sensed what had happened and fell into deep mourning. As Set celebrated his victory with his lackeys, Isis returned to search for her husband's body. Set imprisoned Isis as he felt she was a threat to his power, as he had declared himself king. He ruled Egypt in the absence of Osiris, exhilarated at his apparent victory. Meanwhile, it took several months before Isis escaped and went out to search for Osiris, before she found some children who spoke of an ornate box floating down the river. The box has washed up on shore in Byblos, and there a great tree grew around it. A tree that was then cut down to be used in the construction of a palace. This piece contained the body of Osiris, and Isis had much to do to get it back. Once she had, she managed to revive Osiris enough to be blessed with his child. Needless to say, Set was not at all pleased with the news of an impending nephew, nor that she had managed to retrieve Osiris (though, the others had hidden his body away where Set would not, hopefully, find it).
While on a moonlit boar hunt (or so he claims), Set found Osiris's embalmed and mummified body and swiftly tore it into 14 pieces. He threw them into the Nile to let the river dispose of them. This time, for sure, he was rid of his brother. Once more though Isis went to find her husband and found all his parts minus one, which had been eaten by an alligator. This time she was not able to bring him back to the land of the living after putting him back together, so Osiris became the Lord of the Dead. Set had thus succeeded in permanently usurping his brother from the throne. In a way.
His time as King however was swiftly drawing to a close, as Horus decided to challenge him for the throne, something he believed was his right to do, once he had come of age. Due to the intervention of other gods at Isis's begging, Set had not been able to rid himself of the child before this moment came. His wife had helped hide Isis when it was time for Horus to be born, and continued to hide the woman and her new son in the swamp lands to the north as Set tried to hunt them down. He even fought Behdet in a river battle when the god engaged Set to distract him. Oh how this pissed Set off. It was alright though....he had plenty of time to deal with Horus. He was an immortal god, after all.
When Horus challenged Set for the throne, they entered into battle as Set refused to stand down for what he had worked hard to get. This battle was a long one with neither gaining ground, until Set resorted to some incredibly questionable and underhanded methods to try and win the fight when it was pulled into a court dispute overseen by Ra. This plan backfired on him greatly, involving an extremely embarrassing moment around lettuce and the birth of the Moon Disc that Thoth took as his afterwards. Set tries to forget this ever happened. In the end, Horus was awarded the kingship and Set had to step down. This was something he would never forgive, and to this day he still feels a slow burning hatred towards Horus whenever he thinks back on this.
Over the years, Set has continued to pursue Isis, though nothing has come of it. He also spent his time dallying with various consorts, even some lovely goddesses from other cultures. How Nephthys still remained married to him is a miracle beyond his understanding. Eventually he gained two more wives, having children with them all. As the centuries passed, he would gain and lose many followers, and gradually the roles he found himself holding grew more and more dark and sour. He found himself being being called the cheif god of Egypt again when the Hyksos invaded and claimed him to be their patron god. This was something he could accept, as it gave him power once more. But once more his kingdom would crumble from under him once the Hyksos were disposed of. Ostracized by the great society that once had worshiped him as their king, Set was now called the enemy of Egypt. And to him, he was of the mind-set of "You think of me as your enemy? Then by all means, I will be." It was during this time that he twisted his forms, and more and more took on that which he knew the Egyptians feared most. He sowed immense chaos and turmoil, taking out his grudges and fury on the land and its people. Admittedly he may have gone a little overboard, but you know. Hindsight is 20/20.
He would once again turn his focus to attempting to completely destroying Osiris's body, but this would be his downfall. Despite his great strength, he met his match in the cunning of Anubis. He tried various ways to steal the body out from Anubis's watchful eyes, and while he would succeed each time, it was a victory that never lasted long before he would be caught and severely punished by Anubis in more and more grueling ways as his son tried to teach him a lesson and dissuade him from trying again. However Set was a stubborn one who was hard pressed to be turned away from his goals, and unfortunately this bullheaded-ness would result in his 'death'. Anubis gradually tired of Set's "mischief", and finally killed Set. He flayed his skin and set fire to his corpse, before wearing Set's skin as a disguise to sneak into his camp and kill all his followers. What an insult.
In the afterlife, Set's anger and general thirst for destruction was vastly cooled down. He spent his days riding the front of Ra's solar barque to defend it from Apophis, a great monster of chaos that sought to destroy the sun god. This gave him much time to think on his life, and all he had done and failed to do. Set continued to feel bitter towards the people of the land, and all that their prayers and worship had wrought upon his name and reputation. He focused this energy on battling Apophis, and while he slayed the beast each night, it would simply be reborn the next day and so gave him a continuous foe to beat his emotions against. At one point it amused him to think about the fact that he was, in a way, fighting himself as both he and the monster were the embodiment of similar chaos.
Set's feud with Horus would eventually be laid to rest, leaving just annoyance and some bitter resentment in place of his former hatred and urge to destroy. Set, one night, had been bitten by an unknown creature while on Ra's solar barque. Poisoned in a way he could not heal, he found himself suffering a pain unlike anything he had ever experienced before. Horus used this as an opportunity to set aside his differences and offered to help his uncle heal. But to do so, Set had to relinquish to him his secret name. Secret names held great power, and to have such a name from someone gave you control over them in ways that could easily be abused. Set knew this (and honestly was in the abuser category for it), so he was immensely reluctant to pass it over to one he had spent so long trying to destroy, fearing retaliation in his weakness. Despite the agony he was in, Set proceeded to be a little shit in giving Horus extremely evasive false riddles to solve for his name. Until finally, he gave in and spoke the truth. After Horus obtained Set's true name, he used the power of it to heal Set's injury.
Since then, Set had been spending his time watching the world as the centuries passed, observing the rise and fall of the great society that had once worshiped him and his family, and the way Egypt rose once more in a modern setting. He's become annoyed with how humans seem to have forgotten how to properly respect the old gods, and this has made him restless. When he hadn't been on the solar barque, he had spent his time exploring around to find all the secrets within the kingdom of the afterlife, finding many pathways that not even Osiris knew about. Paths only Tricksters can see. Set kept these secrets to himself, plotting and waiting for the right time to emerge again. In the 1900's, he used one such passageway to escape and return to the surface. Set spent some time exploring the world away from Egypt, curious to see what else it had to offer while looking for humans he could sway and influence to restart a following. In the 1930's he landed in America, and had decided it was time for some fun. He began to sow his chaos again, helping to worsen the Great Depression by bringing a severe years long drought to the southern plains. Set reveled in the suffering his power brought, and the impact from his drought was compounded by the ill-informed farming practices of the humans who lived there. Such a combination that caused the disaster it did (honestly it went above and beyond his original expectations, how delightful!) renewed Set's vigor, and he decided that this was how he would spend the next few centuries (or until the other gods noticed he was missing and managed to catch him). He liked the idea of bringing such suffering to the humans who had made him the bad guy in his homeland, and then had (in his eyes) forgotten about him. Even if he couldn't make them remember, he'd make them suffer. Though, he had learned to reign in his desires, knowing he couldn't continue if he made such a spectacular display that he gave away his location. So, he's been careful with the number of storms and droughts he brings about.
Since that historical event, (his "awakening" as he calls it) Set has been living among the humans disguised as a simple man. He's held many names over the years, and simply slips away when he has had his fill of a city and an identity. Many times he has been the originator behind the storms and droughts that have hit the areas around the city he is staying in, but he has also simply helped natural storms to grow in fury. It depends on what kind of mood he's in when something like a tornado or hurricane hits. Set has no intention of returning to his job on Ra's solar barque anytime soon, fully intending to continue to enjoy the free life.

Crouching low, Roman brushed his fingers through the leaf litter. He had spied a fox here weeks ago, and after burying it he had waited patiently for nature to take her course. Now, he dug for his reward. Brushing the dirt aside, he unearthed the cleaned skull of the dead fox. Pulling it out and brushing it off, the polish teen's lips drew back in a pleased smile. Yes, it was perfect.
"Maybe in the center...next to the three crows." he murmured, standing and pulling his bag around. Tucking the skull in securely, Roman shaded his dark eyes as he scanned the skies. The deepening shades of pink and purple hinted towards the fall of evening, and the young witch decided perhaps it was best to head home. Pulling his hood up around his head, he cupped his hands to his mouth and gave a low caw.
The sound echoed around the woods, and silence fell for a moment before a returning crawk shattered the air. Roman giggled, and gave an even louder call. The air was broken by a large flock of crows that suddenly winged into the air, black shadows sharply outlined against the dusk. Their cries filled the air as they settled in the branches around Roman. Grinning, the witch boy twirled happily, calling back to them. As he cooed, he reached into his bag and pulled out handfuls of birdseed, scattering it about. The crows eagerly flapped about in fervor as they collected the seeds. Roman watched, giddy. An old female landed on his shoulder, and allowed him to stroke her throat.
"Hey Rose. Here's some just for you." he whispered, holding up some seeds. The old crow gently took them from his hand, happily shuffling her feet as she ate. Once the seeds were gone, Roman cawed a goodbye, and carefully made his way out from the flock. Rose rode his shoulder until he reached the edge of the woods, where she took to wing. He waved goodbye to her, before returning to the town.
