History: She came from a Mad Max world where it was barely survivable. In her world it was the end of the world, literally. The planet was nothing but desert and water was scarce. To Maia, it was a normal way of life knowing nothing else. When she was young, still a toddler, her parents died and was raised by her grandmother, Angie, and some random freak, Richard. She eye rolled at his stupid puns but she tolerated them. She barely said anything to him though.
Maia was raised by her grandmother, Angie Johnson, and the other annoying guy, Ruchard Calhoun. She had no memories of her parents growing up with them gone so soon. With how hard their world was, she had learned to steal from other settlements just to get by. Sometimes it was frowned upon my her parental figures, but screw that, they needed to live to. This Mad Max world was all she knew.
When Maia was roughly twelve years old, who knew these days, the trio happened across the Grants. A cannibal family. It was disturbing but she didn't pass judgement. Not vocally anyway since she barely spoke, even back then. She was unaware of the danger of living with them, believing the Grants ate strangers, not people they took in. But then granny one day went missing. In a week there was no hide or hair of her. Then suspicion aroused when the people eating family turned their attention on her. Richard, actually being smart for once, knew that was going to happen. He escaped from the family, with Maia in tow.
Just the two of them alone, the old man did most of the chatter with the teen mostly ignoring him. It was a harsh life in this world. Some days she kept them alive with her stealing from other survivors, but sometimes it got them in trouble with settlements. Richard had gone there for honest work, hunting jobs or trading and she screwed it up by taking what wasn't hers. Richie would take her away from there as fast as they could just to keep her alive and never return to them. Or if they did, he would keep her away on the outskirts in the event someone remembered her.
One day she found herself pulled away from everything she had known due to the Collapse. Maia found herself in some alien world all alone and without annoying dad jokes. Confused and scared as hell, Maia stuggled for the first day or so to make sense of this new world. Eventually though she fell back onto old habits. She travelled this hell world, coming across strangers and stealing from them to survive.
Most of the time Maia stole what she needed to live, like food and water. Other days though she stole anything that looked profitable to trade with others. She kept a few small keep sakes that could easily be carried around but easy to abandon if she needed room for more important things.
One day though when supplies were running low, Maia broke into someone's farm to steal food. She had not eaten for several days due to not coming across anyone. She was caught though by some freaky time altering guy and his wife. The thief was frozen solid with only her head free. After some back and forth she told the couple everything about the past and the time warp.
Maia had been 14 when Ripley and Luke had found her. Over the few years she had slowly learned to stop stealing everything. Even with the team of other teens she still kept her old habits. Though she still stole anything she could get her hands on, not seeing anything wrong with it, especially from Tyus since Cleo seemed to like shiny things. Tyus has plenty of crystals he doesn't need. Even now to this day though she barely talked to anyone in her group

RP Sample: "Don't do that." called out over the top of her computer without even looking at a teen trying to dog ear a page in a library book. To her that was sacrilege. Tamara looked over the top of the monitor staring at the teen coldly until he merely shut the book and pushed it aside. Nothing was more sinful than a damaged book. She was angry before, but that just added to it. It had been more than a week since she heard from Matt. She was mad and worried that he had not called. It was not the first time he had gone more than a month without making contact. Either it was for her protection, or he just forget, she still couldn't help but worry. Worried that the next news report was of his body being found, or locked in prison for protecting someone
Finally it was closing time. Tamara just locked the doors when someone grabbed her from behind. Gasping in fear, she spun around, trying to go for the mace in her bag when she saw it was one of Matt's hunter friends and shut her eyes, putting a hand over her racing heart. "Wear a bell next time." she said, looking up at him calming down now.
