Personality: Shy and standoffish, Minerva is a bookworm through and through. She can often be found in the library, happily buried among the books. When she's not there, she tends to find herself among nature. She is easily excitable as well, however. Any mention of books or sharing of any kind of knowledge and she tends to either go off on a tangent or listen intently. On the other hand though, she does tend to be quick to anger and a bit tempermental.

History: Minerva's upbringing was unique in terms of being a Harpy. While the first half of her life was spent in a nest, learning how to hunt, fly and survive in the woods around Lake Eerie, Pennsylvania. Once she was grown enough to take care of herself, she was sent to her mother in the city, where she was taught to live side by side with humans. Her parents found that this would likely be the best way to raise their children, that way they could blend in with humans just as easily as they could survive in the wild. It was while she was living with her mother, attending high school like a normal teenager despite the obvious struggles caused by her height and the not so obvious struggles that came with having to hide in plain sight that she met her best friend, Angelica Summers. The human girl often stood up for the young woman when she was teased and in turn, Minerva did her best to protect her as well.
After high school, Minerva's love for learning and thirst for knowledge took hold, but instead of going to college as planned, she found herself returning to the woodlands of her birth. She found her father once again and though he disapproved of the fact that she had taken to her human form too much, he was still proud of his daughter up until he found out that she had plans to become a librarian in the city. He was concerned about her taking up such a thing, living among humans was dangerous business and he pleaded with her to reconsider. She agreed, not wanting to upset her father and found a clearing to make herself a nest. She brought a few of her favorite books with her, taking her time in reading all of them when she wasn't hunting or guiding lost hikers and backpackers out of the woods. Minerva grew restless, however. Though she enjoyed the books she'd brought with her, she had read them over and over again, their knowledge already absorbed and she wanted more.
At the age of twenty, Minerva returned to the city and persued her dream to become a librarian. She spent a year in school, studying for a Master's degree in Library Science. She would return to the woods during holidays and whenever she had the time off, her life being only as stressful as she allowed it to be. It was shortly after her twenty first birthday that she found herself lost in an unfamiliar forest despite having traversed the woods she had originally entered possibly a thousand times before. Eventually, she found a road, following it quietly with only her backpack and her nose stuck in a book as she followed the road into the town.

RP Sample: How long? The thought bounced ceaselessly through the mind, a question as of yet, unanswered. Surely, by now they would have noticed. They would have found the message. Still no attempt to make contact, no attempt to seek out the perveyer of destruction. Of course not, such a thing should have been expected. It would take more than one simple act of defiance, one insignificant colony, at least to them.
It was time to make the next move, to start once more. They would have the attention of the UHF once and for all, even if it meant ripping every outlying colony they had from beneath their noses. That was where it would start, where it would begin. That would be the beginning of the coup, they would feel the cut of the blade, the breath of the void against their neck. The would understand what it was like to feel fear grip them tight, drag them down until they found nothing but silent madness.
As if on queue, that familiar rip in space-time washed the command deck of the vessel in a bright light, casting away the shadows and pulling the woman seated on what looked to be a throne in sharp relief against void black backdrop. Her pale features offset by deep, ocean blue eyes that reflected the nothingness within like shimmering sapphires. Her crimson lips pressed into a tight line as she was pulled out of her own revarrie. Silent as a shadow, the woman stood in one fluid movement, stepping down from the raised platform to the center most console before her.
A simple wave of her hand was all it took, the holographic map of the system coming up to cast her pale features in an eerie blue light as she studied it thoughtfully. There was a tense silence around her, as if every person in the room, and there were mulitple, waited on bated breath for her command. The information on the newest planet that they had appeared over scrolling before her eyes before the woman gave a simple nod and turned away.
The steps of her heeled boots echoed as she walked to the bay window, a mulitude of eyes following the woman's feline like movements as the black cloak flowed behind her. Whispers described such a thing as a deathshroud of sorts as very few had witnessed ever seeing it and survived to tell the tale. The sound faded as the female came to a stop in front of the massive window, her gaze focused on the bustling planet below.
"Take them," The woman's voice purred out, barely above a whisper but heard by all. "Those who do not convert, die." The rest of the command fell from crimson lips like venom from the fangs of a snake. No sooner had such things left her before the deck came alive with activity. Soldiers clad in all black moved rapidly, the woman's focus never breaking.
From the ground, the woman's forces would spread out like the wings of a raven before sweeping down upon it's latest prey. With practiced maneuvers, it was a mere thirty minutes before the planet and it's hubs were overwhelmed. Surrender was imminent, it always was when such a force of nature swept down upon an unsuspecting populace. Another colony destroyed, ah but she did not stop there. With the planets occupants either felled or taken, one last task was set forth.
Like a massive stake being driven into the ground, the sleek black pillar drove into the planet, it's depth finding the core of the conquered rock with ease. The message transmitted again, echoing into the black, waiting to be received. The pillar the only trace that anything had happened. Just as quickly as the force had swept down upon them, it was gone. Space-time mending once again behind the massive fleet, a ghost of a forgotten past, hellbent on vengeance and screaming silently into the void, crying out to be known once again.
