History:

Growing up with four older brothers, Aaliyah felt from a young age that she was always fighting to keep up or be heard, so she became somewhat of an overachiever early on. She learned fast that in order to get what you wanted, you had to work hard and speak up, and that's what she did. She showed signs of high intelligence when she started to read at the age of three, and by the time she was in kindergarten she had memorized the 10 x 10 multiplication table. By second grade she could do basic algebra and had memorized most of the periodic table of elements, so it was no surprise to anyone that she graduated from high school at the age of fourteen.

Her brothers were a big influence on her life, particularly on the things she was interested in, such as sports and video games, so it was no surprise to anyone when she pursued a career in game programming and design. After graduating college at seventeen, she interned for a year at a major unnamed software company before they employed her full time. Her job was not only fun but gave her the opportunity to do some traveling, as she was often put on the panel at various conventions and expo when the company was promoting a new game.

It was during one of these conventions that a couple of fans dressed in cosplay as a couple of the game's villains took their roles a bit too seriously and actually kidnapped her on her way to her car at the end of the day. Luckily the guard watching the security camera caught the attack and called the authorities. Aaliyah was rescued before anything became too serious. Even though the two young men hadn't actually intended to cause any harm and were just roleplaying as their characters, it didn't stop Aaliyah from being scared for her life. She became very aware that she had no means to defend herself, and the next day she signed up for self defense and taekwondo, determined that if something like this ever happened again, she would be able to put up a fight.

A few years ago, Aaliyah moved back home. A promotion at work enabled her to work from the comforts of her own home and connect with the company remotely. She moved back in with her parents, meanwhile searching for a place of her own. One afternoon she spotted a suspicious figure breaking into the home across the street. The place had been abandoned for several years but the old man who once lived there had been well-liked by her family, and she felt a personal obligation to investigate. She managed to sneak in after the person and get an upper hand on him with a leg sweep and a tackle that landed him flat on his back, pinned under her. She will never forget that first time she looked in Tommy Walker's eyes.

After the misunderstanding was cleared up and he explained that this was his late grandfather's home, she invited him over to her family's house for dinner. The two of them started getting to know each other, finding they had incredible chemistry, and eventually they started dating and after a while, Tommy proposed. Tommy took up the deed to his grandfather's home and Aaliyah moved in with him so that they could start their lives together.

The motion of Ellen's wave caught the corner of Dean's eye and he made his way over to her, sliding into the booth across from her. A waitress came over and he quickly asked for black coffee and 'what she's having', not really bothering with the menu because he wasn't in the mood to dilly-dally around with breakfast foods when there were more important things on his mind. "Hey Ellen," he said after the petite, middle-aged woman walked away, managing a small half-smile for his old friend that didn't quite reach his weary eyes. "You look good."

Dean cast a glance over his shoulder, reaching into his inner jacket pocket to be sure for the third time that everything he would need was in reach. It was times like this that he wished he had some way of knowing who was a demon and who wasn't short of splashing everyone in the establishment with holy water. That was just something he couldn't do, no matter how much he might want to. These last couple of years had really made him paranoid.

After scanning the room again he finally turned back around to face Ellen, leaning forward a little and keeping his voice low as he grabbed the ketchup bottle and shook it a little, making sure it wasn't empty. "So what's the 411?"
