Full Name: Castiel
Nickname/Alias: Cas, Clarence (From the demon Meg)
Age/Date Of Birth: Ageless
Race: Seraph
Occupation: Angel of Thursday / Guardian angel
Species Group: Angel
Play-By: Misha Collins
Abilities
As a Seraph, Castiel's powers are imbued within him and he does not require a connection with Heaven to retain them. He has the powers of a standard Angel, some being at a higher level, along with a few cosmic powers not available to normal Angels.
Angelic Possession - Like all Angels, Castiel needs to possess a human vessel in order to be present on Earth. The permission of the person is required.
Astral Projection - Castiel is able to partially project his true form while inside his vessel, like projecting shadows of his massive wings on a surface.
Advanced Chronokinesis - As a Seraph, Castiel can travel backwards and forwards through time and also send people through time without having to physically be there with them. The further back he sends someone, time is limited as it becomes more difficult for him to bring them back to the present.
Dream Walking - He can communicate with humans through their dreams. He can interfere with the dream and even manipulate it to his will.
Eidetic Memory - Castiel has the face and name of every prophet (that has, does and will exist) etched into his memory.
Advanced Healing - He can instantly heal the wounds and diseases of Humans, and even monster infections with ease.
Immortality - Castiel, like all celestial beings, doesn't age over time and is immune to disease. He never tires, and does not need to eat, sleep, drink, or breathe to sustain himself or even his vessel.
Invulnerability - He is able to heal quickly from wounds that would severely injure or kill a human, and is impervious to extreme temperatures. He is immune to all ailments and able to fully heal from any non-supernatural wound regardless of its fatality.
Advanced Smiting - The ability to kill or exorcise a demon simply by touching his palm to the forehead of its host. It can also be used to kill monsters. Smiting works on low-level demons and he is able to kill many of them with ease, however it does not work on Princes of Hell.
Resurrection - He can bring the dead back to life.
Induced Sedation - Castiel can cause instant unconsciousness in humans by tapping them or simply placing two fingers on their forehead.
Advanced Pyrokinesis - Castiel has the ability to generate and manipulate fire.
Super Strength - As a Seraph, he is extremely strong and can lift at least 1 ton with little difficulty. He can easily overpower normal humans, spirits, monsters and low-tier angels. Commanding angels and Princes of Hell are able to overpower him.
Expert Swordsman - While not as physically strong as some of his angelic brethren, Castiel is highly skilled in swordplay with angelic blades, having defeated several angels at least as powerful as him on many occasions, despite being outnumbered.
Supernatural Perception/Senses - Able to perceive what would normally be invisible to humans such as ghosts and reapers, and he can see the true faces of demons in the people they are possessing. He is also capable of speaking to and understanding animals, and even listening in on radio frequencies.
Telekinesis - Castiel has the ability to move objects and even people with his mind, imparting kinetic energy on matter with his mind.
Telepathy - Seraphs can easily read the minds of humans, and lower Angels, such as cupids.
Teleportation - Castiel possesses the ability to transport himself and others to any location as long as the area is not protected by enochian sigils, traveling from one place to another instantly. Like with all angels, whenever he uses this power, this is accompanied with the sound of wings flapping and a sudden rush of air can be heard.
Voice Mimicry - He can perfectly mimic the voice of any human being.
Apporting - The ability to attract or repel an object/being.
Spell Casting - As an angel, Castiel has extensive knowledge of Enochian symbols and spells which he has used for a variety of effects. He could draw an Enochian Devil's Trap that could completely suppress and bound a demon as powerful as Alastair. He also knew of symbols that could banish or ward off angels.
Superhuman Stamina - Seraphs never tire or get fatigued.
Biokinesis - Seraphs manipulate or influence a mortal's body, such as inflict pain down to the molecular level, like causing internal bleeding, removal of lungs, and hemorrhages.
Invisibility - Seraphs can become invisible to humans.
Reality Warping - Seraphs possess low level reality warping abilities.
Mental Manipulation - Seraphs can manipulate, erase or restore a person's perceptions and memories of events.
Soul Reading/Channeling - Castiel has shown the ability to read a person's soul to check the marker another angel had left there, see if there is a soul there and check the state of the soul. He has also displayed the ability to channel power from a human soul, though this had to be done very gingerly and could result in the death of the human if done wrong.

Personality: Throughout the years, Castiel has gone through many changes in personality due to his experiences. He has completely lacked emotion, learned to bend the rules, felt depression and loss of faith. He’s been prideful, cold and absolute...and has even experienced what being human basically is, even if he was a bit more distant than normal humans. At one point he even went through a state of insanity. It’s safe to say that Castiel has felt more emotions than most Angels have.
However, when Castiel returns from Purgatory, he’s once again changed. His sanity has been restored, and he’s a little more laid back then he was before. The time he has spent on Earth has allowed him to understand and express human emotions a little more, but he can still be baffled sometimes and may not pick up on certain references or changes in mood right away. The main thing that drives him is his desire for repentance, as he wants to redeem himself for what he has done on Heaven and Earth, and in the eyes of his friends and siblings. He is determined and always willing to help those in need, whether it’s with his abilities or an attentive ear to talk to.
Another thing that can be said about Castiel’s personality is that his heart is in the right place with the decisions he makes. His downfall is that he doesn’t always ‘look before he leaps’ and the results can be very bad. Because of this, he can be way too critical of himself. On the other hand, once he decides on a course of action, it can be very difficult to talk him out of doing something if he believes it’s the right thing to do. With as much as he wants to repent for his sins, he is still afraid of returning to Heaven and facing what he has done there, so much so that it's an incredibly touchy subject for him.

History: By Angel standards, Castiel was a mere child when his older brother Lucifer rebelled against Heaven by refusing to accept humanity like his Father wanted. The experience had left him terrified of his older brother, but once he was cast out, life in Heaven had returned to normal for the most part. Castiel was stationed on Earth for the better part of 2000 years in a garrison consisting of Anael (his superior, aka Anna), Balthazar, Bartholomew, Hester, Inias, and Uriel. He witnessed many biblical events including The Tower of Babel, Cain killing Abel, David and Goliath, and Sodom and Gomorrah. He also saw the first fish heaving itself onto land, and remembers an older brother telling him to watch out for it because there was big plans for that fish. It wasn’t until 2008 that Castiel first made contact with his one true vessel, a devout man by the name of Jimmy Novak. To show that he was actually an angel, Castiel protected Jimmy from harm as he stuck his arm into a pot of boiling water. Even though Jimmy’s wife was also religious, she thought her husband was going crazy and hearing voices. When the man finally asks what is needed of him, Castiel explains that he needs his body as his vessel, to do God’s work on Earth. Jimmy agrees, but only as long as his family is kept safe...with that, Castiel ‘possesses’ him and leaves.
Some time later, the first of the 66 seals needed to free Lucifer is broken by Dean Winchester in Hell when he, a righteous man, sheds blood. At this point the Angels took action, and Castiel was ordered to lead a group of his brothers and sisters into Hell to free Dean. The assault was successful, leaving the hunter with a handprint shaped scar on his shoulder where Castiel literally gripped him and ‘raised him from Perdition’. The Angel tried reaching out to the oldest Winchester, but he couldn’t understand what he was saying like Castiel thought he would be able to. Sam and Dean even tried contacting him with the help of a psychic friend of Bobby Singer’s by the name of Pamela, who ended up becoming blind when she gazed on his true form no matter how much he told her to stop trying. Castiel was then later summoned by Dean and Bobby in an area warded against any creature they could possibly imagine, but none of it affected the Angel and he explained what he was: An Angel of the Lord, and Dean was brought back because God had work for him; helping to stop the 66 seals from being broken. Castiel’s orders were to follow Deans orders, and this was something he revealed to the hunter after Samhain was risen on Holloween, one of the seals.
The more that Castiel helped the Winchesters, the more he began to question the orders he was receiving and started having his doubts about the situation. After finding out Uriel, an Angel from his garrison and someone who he had been working with, was helping the demons to break the seals the two fought. He was saved by Anna, his former superior who had regained her grace after ripping it out several years earlier. Castiel tried to warn Dean about the angels true plans but he was cast out of his vessel and sent to Heaven, and when he returned he was back to his old self. It wasn’t until Dean was trapped with the Seraph Zachariah and Sam was unknowingly on his way to break the final seal that Castiel snapped out of it, thanks to Dean’s words. He used an Angel Banishing Sigil and sent Zachariah away, then sent Dean to Sam to stop him from killing Lilith. Castiel appeared at Chuck’s house to hold the Angel off and give the hunters time, but it was no use...Lucifer was set free.
Castiel perished in this fight...he was no match for his stronger, big brother. However he was soon resurrected by God, or so he thought because who else could it be? He reappeared to save the Winchesters from Zachariah and his men when they are searching for the Michael sword in their fathers storage space, learning that Dean is the Michael sword; in other words, the true vessel of Michael. After forcing Zachariah to leave, he engraves Enochian sigils on the Winchesters to keep them hidden from all angels and demons. One of Castiel’s main missions at this point was to find God, even as his powers were diminishing because of his rebellion against Heaven and being ‘cut off’. He even captured the Archangel Raphael using Holy Oil and with Deans help interrogated him, but he claimed that God was dead...so Castiel left him trapped there. He was soon led to believe that God wasn’t dead, but he didn’t care about him or anyone anymore and this caused him to fall into a depression for a time. Since Dean refused to be Michael’s vessel, the Angels got a hold of Adam Milligan, half brother to the Winchesters. Castiel loses it when Dean decides to say yes...he had believed in him and sacrificed everything. Angry, he carves an Angel Banishing Sigil on his chest to send himself and other angels away while the brothers were on a rescue mission for Adam. Before doing so he stated that at least he wouldn’t have to watch Dean fail.
He returns later, virtually powerless now and makes amends since the older Winchester didn’t go through with saying yes and killed Zachariah instead. Castiel continues to lose his power as he helps the brothers fight against Pestilence and stop the Croatoan virus from being shipped out to infect the populace. When Sam comes up with the plan to say yes to Lucifer so he can fight against him and throw him into the cage in Hell, Castiel tries to stay optimistic but he loses faith when it doesn’t appear that Sam can fight Lucifer. He even suggests that they all just drink and wait for the end, but Dean eventually manages to convince him and Bobby to help. Dean appears at the final confrontation between Michael (possessing Adam) and Lucifer (possessing Sam) and tries to talk to Sam, when suddenly Castiel appears with Bobby. The Angel is basically human at this point and throws a molotov cocktail filled with Holy Oil at Michael, banishing him away. This infuriates Lucifer and he makes Castiel explode and kills Bobby. After the battle between Dean and Lucifer, when Sam is able to take control and cast Lucifer into the pit, once again Castiel is resurrected. However this time, he is empowered and promoted to the rank of Seraph. He resurrects Bobby and heals Dean, then he leaves them. After everything that happened and with Michael’s absence, he wanted to return to Heaven to restore order to the anarchy that would surely follow.
Sometime after averting the Apocalypse, Castiel goes into Hell and retrieves Sam from the cage where he was trapped with Michael and Lucifer. He did not know at the time that Sam didn’t have his soul and thought he had pulled it off without a hitch. Castiel then returns to Heaven and tries to explain the concept of ‘freedom’ to his siblings, but they just can’t understand what that is. While there, he learns that Raphael is planning on taking over Heaven and restarting the Apocalypse. Castiel tries to stand against him but it is impossible as he is no match for the Archangel and he wants to ask Dean for help. He goes to the hunter but he can’t bring himself to ask Dean for assistance as he had given so much already, and this is when Crowley appears. The Demon wants to make a deal; Castiel helps him find Purgatory and they split the souls, since they provide a great deal of power. He even offers Castiel a ‘loan’ so he can face Raphael and stand against him. It was an offer that was hard to refuse and Castiel was very prideful at this point and didn’t think that Crowley would be able to get the upper hand on him, so he agreed to the deal.
Upon returning to Heaven, Castiel stood against his older brother once again and the result ended up starting a civil war amongst the Angels. He kept the deal a secret from the Winchesters and ended up playing both sides, but he always wanted to make sure the brothers were safe and helped them when he could. When Crowley started to threaten them, Castiel grew very protective of the brothers even with the circumstances this deal was causing. The Angel grew paranoid, thinking they and Bobby were onto him so he starts spying on them to see if they were suspicious. He managed to keep this secret for a while, but Castiel slipped up and revealed information they had talked about while he was invisible and spying on them. They ended up trapping Castiel in ring of holy fire and confront him about the betrayal, but soon after Demons show up and he urges the brothers and Bobby to run. Crowley ends up saving him and Castiel goes to Dean, and tries to explain the situation. He wants to get through to him, make him see that he was doing this for the right reasons. However it doesn’t go well and Castiel ends up apologizing before disappearing.
When Crowley has finally gotten everything ready for the ritual Castiel meets up with him and puts a foolhardy plan in motion. He tells Crowley that he wants to renegotiate the deal and he doesn’t get a single soul from Purgatory, so he can either flee or die. The Demon chooses the first option, however he reappears when the ritual is about to begin with a new partner: Raphael. He’s surprised by this pairing as they both have very different goals, but he tosses them the jar of blood needed for the ritual and leaves...or so they think. Crowley tries the ritual and even though Bobby and Dean try and stop him, he completes it but nothing happens. Castiel switched out the blood and conducted his own ritual, and when he reappears he shows such a huge display of power that Crowley flees and Raphael begs for mercy... which is answered by Castiel making him explode. Dean and Bobby try and reason with him, begging him to return the souls now that Raphael was dead and telling him he is family and they don’t want to lose him. The souls were corrupting his very being and Castiel believed himself to be God now, and that he didn’t need family. The confrontation was tense but Castiel let them live, although he left Sam broken mentally, and set out to right the wrongs in the world and Heaven.
Castiel as he was before, was gone. He returned to Heaven and destroyed Raphael’s followers, the death toll reaching into the thousands. The survivors are told that he no longer believes in free will but a firm hand is what’s needed for them, so they better obey. He kills who he believes are false prophets of the Lord all around the US and even tracks down Crowley, who is hiding out in an RV. Castiel tell him that he can be the King of Hell but it will be the new God that decides where the souls go and which ones he will get. During all this, Castiel’s vessel begins to deteriorate from the massive amount of souls he is carrying around within him, resulting in blisters and wounds on his skin. Meanwhile the Winchesters and Bobby trap Crowley and make him give them a spell to bind Death, in hopes that he could reap the new God. When they do so, Castiel appears and Death claims that he only sees a ‘mutated angel’, not God...and also reveals that Castiel not only sucked in souls, but also Leviathan from Purgatory and that is the what the real danger is. Castiel insists that he will heal himself when his work is done and frees Death before leaving.
Castiel ends up slaughtering everyone in a political election office before answering Sam’s prayer to reconsider and give up the souls. He could tell something was very wrong at this point as Castiel started to realize what he had done while being ‘God’. The souls had to be returned, so he appears before Dean and Sam and asks them for their help. He felt so much regret for what he had done and how he had hurt them and promised to make it right if he survived. They open the door to Purgatory and Castiel returns the souls, but the Leviathan managed to hold on inside of him and took control of his body. They guide Castiel into a water reserve and his vessel explodes into a mass of black liquid and they escape into the water supply...and the Angel is gone.
Once again, the Seraph was resurrected by his Father but his time he had lost all of his memories. He ends up living as a human healer named Emmanuel and is even married. Dean ends up finding him when word of his healing gets around and even saves his wife. Castiel ends up regain his memories when he starts smiting multiple Demons, and now with his memories returned Dean asks him to restore the wall in Sam’s mind so his hallucinations would stop. However, he finds the wall to be utterly destroyed. The Angel wanted to redeem himself in the eyes of the brothers, feeling so much guilt over the pain he had caused and wanting to put things right. So he shifted Sam’s hallucinations of Lucifer to his own mind to take on the burden, leaving him broken as he was committed to a mental institute. The Demon Meg, became a nurse so she could look after him. He is later awakened from a coma when the Word of God is released, but his personality is changed. No longer willing to fight, Castiel becomes a pacifist and is still insane with a very bizarre personality. As the Winchesters are getting closer to killing Dick Roman, leader of the Leviathan, they are also trying to snap Cas out of it so he can help them but he refuses. They find out that Dick has made multiple copies of himself and Meg reveals that since Castiel housed all the Leviathan before, he would be able to tell which one was the real one. Castiel feels like he can’t help the brothers, because he is afraid he’ll do something to mess up the plan and will only cause more harm than good. He reveals this to Dean and after a heart to heart talk, Castiel agrees to help them infiltrate Sucrocorp.
While Sam worked on rescuing the prophet Kevin Tran, Dean and Castiel made their way through the building so Castiel could find the real Dick Roman. Eventually they confront him and trick him with a fake weapon, finally stabbing him with the real weapon to kill him. However the God weapon had a kick to it and ended up sending Dean and Castiel to Purgatory along with Dick. Castiel’s sanity was restored to him when they arrived in Purgatory and he explains to Dean where they are. The Angel makes a hard choice at this point and leaves Dean, because the Leviathan there are after him and he wanted to draw them away from Dean. The longer he was there, the more he realized that this was where he belonged; it was his new home, a place he believed to be a proper punishment for all the wrongs he had done. Then suddenly, Castiel finds himself out of Purgatory with no idea or memory on how it happened. Why was he released? Did his Father once again put him back on Earth?

RP Sample: As Alessa crouched down and helped out the young girl with her work, she couldn’t help but cast a quick glance toward Ms. Cromwell and the FBI agent every now and then. She got the distinct feeling that someone was watching her, and Alessa figured it was the agent that was causing her to have this feeling. Honestly, the hunter didn’t think this man would have any interest in her. This was her first day at the school after all, it’s not like she could possibly know anything…even though she knew quite a bit, of course. Just as she was getting to her feet, Ms. Cromwell was making her way toward Alessa, a deep frown etched on her features. Alessa was quite surprised by this, thinking that the woman couldn’t possibly look more displeased than she normally did. The wizened teacher wished to stick to the curriculum of the class and informed Alessa in rapid Spanish that the FBI agent wished to ask her a few questions. Genuine surprise could be seen on the redhead’s face as she glanced at the agent across the room and back to Ms. Cromwell with a slight nod. After reassuring the teacher that she would still stay after and grade papers and lock up so she could leave early, Alessa then looked ahead of her and started making her way toward the front of the classroom. Her blue-green gaze met his and a faint friendly smile curled the corners of her lips. It was the strangest thing…just moments ago Alessa was confident and composed, and now she was feeling nervous. It could be that he possibly was an FBI agent, and that was a little intimidating. Nevertheless she appeared calm and collected as she stopped and stood in front of the man.
