Forum Rules
You may hate 'em, we all follow 'em.
So, you're thinking of joining? Well, that's just awesome. We'll keep this as short and sweet as possible so you can get on your way. Most of it is common knowledge, but consider this a refresher. At the very worst, at least skim them.
[ ! ] 0.1: Activity
Here at End Of The Road we are pretty lenient and only require members to log into the forum at least once in two months. We are a highly cbox based site so you can keep activity on the forum or in the chat. We don't require members to keep thread or posting activity as long as they remain somewhat active in our site. If for any reason you have to leave the site for an extended period of time please post a thread in the forum letting us know or notify a member of the staff. Accounts will be switched to inactive once they haven't been logged into for at least six months. Do not worry, applications and threads will not be archived unless we do an activity check or a site wide clean-up. In order to take your account out of inactive or to get any archived applications and threads all you must do is message an admin account and let them know what you need.
All Canons will also be on a trial period when they first are accepted. For three weeks staff will keep an eye on how the canon character is played. After the three weeks are up staff will discuss whether to allow you to keep the canon or not. Although, we do not require to keep a post count or log in every week for canons keep in mind that these characters are sometimes highly plot sensitive and it is better if all our canons had players that can be regularly available to play with others. Also if you can't handle your canon please let us know, don't just stop playing them. That's not polite to everyone else wanting to play with you.
Due to the fact that staff have more on their plate the posting rule is more lenient for them. However, if it is seen that you are just abusing the excuse and haven't actually been doing any staffing jobs then you will be dealt with accordingly.
[ ! ]0.2: Character Rules
When creating a character we please ask you to keep in mind a few things. For one, please do not make a character that does not make sense in the world of Supernatural or anything that contradicts things that have been seen in the show. This means do not make demons who "love" and care about others. They can lust and want to keep someone alive for their own demonic purposes, but they do not have humanity anymore. That is what hell does to a person. This also means no creatures that act human and don't have their instincts... Vampires kill humans due to all the hunger for blood, hearing people's heart beats from blocks away, Shapeshifters do whatever they can to stay alive, Etc. It is possible for creatures to fight their instincts but that need is never gone and we won't accept too many creatures that are this way until we have more of the other kind. This applies to humanized angels as well. Angels are not human. They do not have all these emotions unless they fall. Angels fall by pulling out their grace and falling to earth and becoming a human baby. Angels that cut themselves off from Heaven DO NOT fall. Instead they lose their abilities slowly and become human by learning emotions. There is systems to describe and help you create each specific species, make sure to use it.
Characters must either derive from the site canon list (after making the proper reservations) or be of your own personal creation. Please do not apply with characters from other book, movie, or television series. This includes characters who are clearly heavily based on said characters.
Regarding Traits:
Each character is given 3 trait points to start with. Every positive trait costs a point and every negative trait gives you back a point. As if it is not obvious, you cannot go into the negative. This means you cannot have four positives, and say only two negatives. It doesn't matter what the end total of your points are as long as they are not in the negative. Remember characters much have 3 of each no matter what as it is.
Regarding Abilities:
Special abilities that are unique must be approved by an admin. Characters can only have the abilities available to them within their species group. However, you may message an Admin account and get approval for special abilities.
[ ! ]0.3: Grammar & Literacy
You don't have to be a fancy British writer but you also shouldn't be writing like a twelve year old. No offense to twelve year old members, we realize some of you can write.
Likewise, you should be able to read and understand what your fellow roleplayers have written.
We understand that every member is of a different literary level but we expect proper grammar and punctuation to be attempted IC at all times.
English at all times, no exceptions besides exorcisms, rituals, etc.
[ ! ]0.4: No /bleep/
Keep all sexual RP off this forum, by standards of Proboards it is not allowed. This means fade to black people, kissing and all that jazz is obviously allowed. Just no graphic sexual RP.
[ ! ]0.5: Threads
Do not enter a thread that is not labeled for you. What is thread labeling, you may ask?
When posting a roleplay thread you must specify in the title to whom it is available (i.e [Open], [Private]/[Invite], etc.). When a thread is OPEN it means anyone can join in. When it says PRIVATE or INVITE you must gain the maker's permission to participate in the RP. If you're going to RP with a specific person(s) then you may put their name in the title instead of Private.
[Death Enabled] threads are, of course, those which will include the possibility of a character's death. Do not enter if you do not wish your character to be killed off, because it can happen. For this reason, you must also specify who may join a [Death Enabled] thread. Tread carefully.
Keep your threads active. If a member is inactive you may skip them so long as you have an IC reason for their disappearance (i.e rendered unconscious, incapacitated, etc.). If said inactive member has not posted a going away thread (even if temporary) their character may DIE IC and be archived. If the member returns and provides a reasonable excuse their character(s) may be returned to them.
If a thread is held inactive for a week, staff members reserve the right to archive it. Also the codeword for the application is: Batman
[ ! ]0.6: Mature
Criticizing, flaming, spamming, trolling, harassing, annoying people in general and other such examples of immaturity.
All 110% prohibited and will be met with a warning or me personally dragging them to hell (Banning).
[ ! ]0.7: Word Count
No one-liners, two-liners, or even five-liners IC.
Your post should contain sufficient wording so as to not seem empty or kill a thread. Have at least a decently sized paragraph or two, or if not, keep the standard at 150 words.
[ ! ]0.8: No Godmoddding/Metagaming
Godmodding: Making your character out to be all powerful and godlike without the logic of having weakness and limitations.
Metagaming: Using OOCly acquired information to illogically get your character out of an IC situation, despite your character him/herself not possessing such information.
Just no. Banhammer awaits these.
[ ! ]0.9: Advertising
Keep it in the Ad Board. If it is seen on the c-box, in the wrong board, or in PM it will result in a warning and deletion of the ad. Second time around is a permanent ban.
[ ! ]1.0: Language
We understand that profanity may be encourage in the case of some characters according to personality, but we ask that you keep a lid on it as much as possible (especially OOC). We want to be respectful in our forum.
[ ! ]1.1: Reviewing
When a staff member reviews your application read the review carefully and think real good about it. It will most likely be very just and reasonable. Do not whine or complain about how the bad staffer has decided to reject your all-powerful demon, angel, or nonsensical monster.
If an admin does not see reason on your side and you are being a whiny little kid with no sign of yielding your application will be rejected and archived.
Do not annoy the staff with requests to review your application(s). If you ask once, nicely we may deliver. Otherwise you might be annoying us, and we have things to do.
So please, cooperate with us.
If your application hasn't been reviewed within two weeks go ahead and private message one of the staff accounts. After which don't spam them with reminders.
