All you need to know before filling your Application.

Are you new? Are you earnestly trying to fill your application? Say no more. Here are the most common mistakes people make and a few tips to keep in mind while you fill your application.

• The image at the top of the application. First it has to be an image from the artist you are using as face claim of the character. Like the apps says it can’t be wider than 400px or it will stretch the application and it will look ugly. What if the image is wider? Well, click where it says preview at the bottom of the square to write stuff if you are in BB Code, Hover your cursor above the image (the thingy in your screen that looks like this >>) move it to the corner of the image wait until it changes into a two way arrow ( that looks like this >>) then click and drag it down to the desired size.

  It will resize the image automatically to the wanted width. Pick a square looking image if you can as it looks better when the image is not too tall.
• Some people leave the questions or text that is meant to act as a guide in the app, for example:
  
  
  Full Name: First, Middle, and Last Name. MacDuck PettyThief
  
  It should be more like this
  
  
  Full Name: MacDuck PettyThief
  
  Same goes for other parts of the app.
• Nickname: If your character has a nickname put it there, or an alias they use a lot. If not, you can leave the section blank. It is not like super important to fill this part.
• This is the most common faux pas we get from people. Filling Species Group. For some reason lots of people have a bit of confusion on what to put here. Ok Race, is what your character is: Human, Angel, Demon, Creature or Spirit. I’m gonna break down the species group for every race.
  
  Humans are divided into:
  
  Hunters, Civilians, Psychics and Witches.
  
  It goes without saying a character can’t be many things at once. Like Hunter/Psychic/Witch that’s too many possibilities for just one character. Having a Hunter/Psych or a Hunter/Witch is acceptable, beyond that please pick one species for this slot. The Species Group Deva is a special one, very rare and closely related to the site plot. You cannot take a Deva as a first character and creation of one will be highly monitored.
  
  Angels are divided into:
  
  Commanding Angels, Seraphs, Angels, Guardian Angels, Reapers, Cherubs, Rit Zien and Grigori.
  
  There are 4 Commanding angels and they can be found in the list of canons. For a Cupid typing Cherub/Cupid will do. If you have any other idea about an angel ask around.
  
  Demons are divided into:
  
  Unique Demons, Black Eyed and Red Eyed.
  
  Other types of demons are not playable, Unique Demons are listed in the canon page.
  
  Creatures are divided into:
  
  Vampires, Shapeshifters, Skinwalkers, Werewolves, Wraiths, Ghouls, etc
  
  Basically anything that has been on the show. Certain creatures are rare and we may limit the number of them in play, ask around. For some of the special creatures we have on the site check this thread. If you are unsure about a creature type you want to create again, ask around. You can have a creature that hunts other creatures mainly if it makes sense, like a Phoenix/Hunter or something. Please keep in mind that more vicious creatures wouldn’t have a moral sense to “Hunt” other creatures. Some creatures like a Wendigo are basically mindless killers and some creatures can only feed on humans not other creatures. Be sensible when creating stuff.
  
  Spirits are divided into:
  
  Violent Spirits, Death Omen, Death Echo, Poltergeists, Vengeful Spirits, Buruburu, Revenant, Woman in White and Specter.
  
  Gods are classified into:
  
  Greek, Egyptian, Babylonian, Etc
  
  Basically, you put the origin of the deity. Which culture used to worship them.
• Play-By: Ok, this sloth goes for the name of the celebrity you are using for your character. For example, Jensen Ackles is the Play-by of Dean Winchester. You can check the Who Plays Who & Face Claim thread and here to see who is taken. Although, it is not always up to date and some of us have no reserved faces of characters that are in the works. So ask around. I am (Devil's Trap ), in particular very open to change a face or discuss things so if you want to make a character with a Play by I am using just shoot me a PM to this account.
• Abilities: This section of the application is rather self explanatory, just list stuff your character can do. You don’t need to be overly detailed with civilians or hunters, since it is understood that hunters fight creatures, but you can list specific skills of the character like if they had military training or if they are extremely proficient with weapons or hand-to-hand combat.
  
  For Psychics, Witches, Angels, Demons, Creatures and Spirits. You list both their Powers and Weaknesses. Please keep it reasonable with Psychics and Witches, we don’t want overpowered characters. You can have as many as two psychic abilities, one will be their main ability (they one they use the best) and the secondary ability in which they will be less good than with the first one.
• Special Inventory:  This section exist for objects of great power and stuff, you can gain through rp and stuff. We haven’t really expanded aside from heaven’s weapons, just leave the text
  Special items that are bought from the store will go here.
  Untouched and move along it’ll be edited by staff if you gain anything.
• Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Goals and Personality: No one seems to have trouble filling any of these and they are pretty self explanatory. For Personality, we prefer at least a detailed paragraph, other than that you can be as descriptive as you feel like it.
• Traits: These are personality traits like being stubborn or dependable. You can describe characteristics that are positive or negative about a character, for example:
  
  
  ✦ Very moody and awful during the mornings, NOT A MORNING PERSON
  
  The text above is a negative trait written in more than one word. You can also fill it like this.
  
  
  ✧ Adventurous: This character is one to look for adventure and excitement everywhere they go. They always find something new to do and enjoy going on to trips. Basically, a daring person willing to explore the unexplored.
  
  
  That’s a positive trait thoroughly explained. Having the list look like this is completely ok and most of us fill it this way:
  
  
  Positives (At Least 3):
  ✧ Assertive
  ✧ Friendly
  ✧ Smart
  
  Negatives (At Least 3):
  ✦ Boorish
  ✦ Foolish
  ✦ Hot-tempered
  
  
  
  Don’t list traits that negate each other like Polite and Disrespectful.
• Most characters have parents or someone who raised them, for angels just slap God in there. If they have no siblings or other family around these sections can be filled n/a (Not available). Deceased family members must be listed though especially if they are mentioned in your character’s history.
• History This is rather easy just gives us the basic about where do they come from and what they did before. This can be very long and detailed (Though we the staff will die reading it lol ) or at least a few shorts paragraphs. Do not make so extremely short it tell us nothing. Histories of characters that are the long ago best friend of a canon, girlfriend, important person otherwise must be discussed and given the go ahead by the person that play the canon or persons who play the canons involved. Like say a bestie teenage hunter to the Winchester brothers that weeds their way back into their lives must be given the ok by hellhound and me (Cause we play Dean and Sam respectively).
  
  Same thing go if you link an already existing character to yours or if you decide to take a wanted character. It would be very awkward to have someone running about that said character is supposed to know. Don’t put people in uncomfortable positions we all come here to have fun.
  
  Please, please don’t dump on us something extremely unlikely or a Mary Sue. If you don’t know what a Mary Sue is here is a a link to wikipedia’s entry on it en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Sue, for the love of all things pastafarian think when writing the story.
• Alias: Here some people may play one or two characters and that not so confusing, we have no character cap, which means you can make as many as you want. In order to let anyone know who plays which characters and who of us are insane enough to have more than ten, we have the Who Plays Who & Face Claim thread. You will see besides the members of the staff, all characters are listed under different names in big red letters. This is the Alias or Nickname of the player (of you, if you will). I go by Devil’s Trap, but you will see people calling me Lyle which was my alias previous to becoming staff, I am used to the later so feel free to use it too.
  
  So pick a name you’d like to be called, check no one is using it and put that there in that part of your application. If you’d like to change Alias pm a member of the staff so we can edit that in your application and the Who plays who listing.
• Last but not least important, GRAMMAR and SPELLING, guys! and proper capitalization. I may understand a typo or two, I may even edit and correct it for you. Don’t make it so we have to tell you to fix the whole app from spelling mistakes. We are not super strict, but show you have some literacy, it is a bit hard to read a text riddled with mistakes and it feels as if the other person really gives no shits about the reader.
