Ok, so. This all started when I heard about this case where people were having bad luck and then ended up dying in weird accidents. I probably heard about the case from JT but I can't remember as my brain is a little fuzzy right now. More about that later. Anyway. The bad luck thing really caught my attention because my whole life has been bad luck. Ok, not really but lately things have seemed pretty weird that way. So, I signed up to go on this case.
Let's see, it was me, JT, Zasha, and Tali. Tali is the one that knew about the case as it was one of her friends that had this happen. I might be a little confused but I THINK it actually happened to two of her friends? I don't know for sure. It started happening here in Zeppelin though. Tali knows a girl named Jessika and her boyfriend who went to a graveyard. There was a chair. The Devil's Chair I think she called it. Some urban legend or something. Some weird lady lured the boyfriend int to the chair. Some other demon thing got involved. Then the bad luck started happening to him and then the "accident" where he died. The information Tali had was sketchy. There was something involving witches and demons but other than that we didn't know squat.
And then this is where I think Tali said the first time was back in the "real" world when a friend of hers got caught up in it, went to a crossroads, made a deal, and then died in a car accident. So when it started in Zeppelin, she wondered what the fuck if maybe it was related.
There was some talking between us all for awhile, but honestly, we didn't come up with a whole lot more than what we already knew. So, we finally just decided to head out to the cemetery to investigate instead of standing around talking about it all night. Luckily JT always comes prepared and he had a shit load of weapons and stuff in the trunk of his car so we were set.
At first, it was super boring. Creepy, but boring. We walked and walked, didn't see anything... until we did. A chair sprouted up out of the ground of a grave. It couldn't be moved at all. It was weird. Oh, then Zasha mentions she knows magic but that's not the big kicker, we find out later she's a witch. We were not pleased that she didn't reveal that sooner. But anyway, more about that later I guess.
We decide we're going to put a rock on the chair to see if it will do anything. We also want to be prepared so I go back to the car to get a flamethrower. I stand by with the flamethrower while JT puts the rock on the seat of the chair. Nothing happens. So, then we try to burn the chair with the flamethrower and that bitch didn't even get a scratch. The chair seemed magically or demonically protected, OF COURSE. We also noticed some runes on it.
Around this time we're starting to get fed up with this stupid-ass chair. JT decides he's just going to sit in it. I didn't think that was a good idea but we didn't know what else to do. That crazy wind started picking up again like it was trying to push us to the chair. It was weird.
Oh and this is about the time Zasha tells us she's a witch. Like I said we were not thrilled with that revelation but... it is what it is and we moved on.
There was then kind of two theories about sitting in the chair. One that JT was the only real hunter and he should do it because of his experience. Then the other was that since Zasha was a witch she should do it as to possibly fight magic with magic. My whole problem with both of those ideas is that because of those same reasons, JT and Zasha were the least expendable of the group. We would need them to save us with JT's experience and Zasha's magic if things went awry.
Zasha made an attempt to look at the runes on the chair but she couldn't make anything out of them. And that's when shit went sideways. Zasha became like, entralled by the chair. We all could see it. She was like in a trance and was compelled to sit in the chair. Well, I figured that's the absolute LAST thing that should happen, right?
I mean, part of this whole thing was that you felt compelled to sit in the chair. So, maybe if you weren't compelled and you just sat in it, it could be harmless. I don't know, it was just something I thought of in the moment. All I knew was that since Zasha WAS under the control of the chair, SHE SHOULD NOT SIT IN IT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. So, I sat in the chair to stop her.
Yeah, let's just say my theory about it being harmless if you weren't compelled to sit in it was wrong. I was bound to the chairs by vines and it was not fun. IT HURT. A LOT.
Some woman/ghosty thing then appeared. I don't think the others could see her at first but I'm not sure because later they did see her. The ghost started talking to me, saying some bullshit about my luck gone dry or something. This is where things start to get a little fuzzy for me though I know the others were trying to get me out of the chair.
Suddenly the woman/ghost vanished. I think JT or Tali or someone shot at her. I dunno I was kind of being tortured at the time. And then some dude appeared. Which, I gotta say, I'm pretty sure he was a demon but he was a damn hot-looking demon I can tell you that. ANYWAY.
I'm still being tortured, not sure what's going on around me but the man is talking to me now and I try to focus on him. He's talking like he wants to "help" me as in if we make a deal he can stop the torture. Well, I'm not THAT stupid. I'm not going to make a deal with a demon. So I just tell him to fuck off. If he's going to kill me or whatever to just get on with it.
At this point the pain was so much I knew I wasn't going to last very much longer. I tried to think of my daughter and put my mind into a happy place. Disassociate from the pain. I don't know how much it helped or not. I could hear a little of what was going on, I know they were shooting at the man/demon and it seemed like the more they hurt him trying to save me, the more pain I felt myself. It was weird.
FINALLY, I heard Zasha's voice and she started chanting the exorcism and I felt a little hope rise in me. So, I kept trying to talk to the dude. See if I could keep his attention a little. Asking if he's the one who cursed the chair. And reminding him if I passed out or died from the torture then we couldn't talk anymore and make a deal.
The exorcism must have worked though because he disappeared. Though not before he told me, "Oh don't worry your pretty head... We aren't done..." I was pretty out of it at that point but I remember that part clearly. My whole body felt like it had been run over by a truck. I was cut, bruised, and bleeding from the vines too. So, I was a mess. JT took me to the hospital.
My only thoughts are I guess that demon uses the chair to lure people in the make deals with them? I'm not sure about the ghost lady, maybe she's just the lure or something else? When we left the chair was still rooted into the ground. That's about it, I guess. Not sure what this means for me since I sat in the chair... but I didn't make a deal so that's good, right? I guess we'll see what happens.
