Full Name: Mark Caleb Baily
Nickname/Alias: n/a
Age/Date Of Birth: Died at 18, technically 24 / 06 - 11 - 1991
Race: Skinwalker
Occupation: College student, part-time barista
Species Group: Creature
Play-By: Austin Butler
Abilities
Shape-shifting - Like Werewolves, Skinwalkers possess the ability to transform into canines. Unlike werewolves, however, skinwalkers transform completely into an animal rather than a hybrid man/wolf creature. Skinwalkers can change from their human to animal forms anytime without a full moon.
Infectious bite - Like Werewolves, Skinwalkers possess a poisonous bite; if someone is bitten by a Skinwalker, he or she will also become a Skinwalker.
Enhanced Sense of Smell - They can smell far better than humans, in either form. Using this ability, they can tell if they are being followed or if someone is in the vicinity, within an approximate range of 100 yards or more. They possess this ability even in the human form.
Super-hearing - A skinwalker's hearing is better then humans, like a dog's.
Accelerated Healing - They appear to be able to heal themselves much faster than humans.
Enhanced Strength - Their strength seems to be greater than the average human's, as in its dog form it was able to kill humans. Their strength appears to increase with rank (much like vampires), as the Pack Leader is able to beat lower ranks around with no difficulties. It seems that it's only in their canine form that they possess their strength.
Super Speed - Skinwalkers, in their animal form, can run and move faster than humans.
Invulnerability - Like many other shapeshifters, Skinwalkers can only be killed by silver bullets to the heart or head. They can, however, be injured.

Personality:Quiet and slow to trust people, Mark doesn't enjoy speaking of himself at all and is a bit of an enigma in most cases. However, hen it comes to his closest friends and family, it is a completely different story - he is loyal to the bone to those who have earned his trust. Therefore he may seem a bit overprotective of a selected few people and cautious around everybody else. Despite his reservedness Mark is well aware of his surroundings, easy to adapt to different circumstances, quick to notice small things that others fail to perceive, and extremely difficult to discourage.

History:
Mark was always quieter than his peers ever since the earlier years of his life and preferred to stay on his own over interacting with others. This leaded to the fact that he learned to read relatively quickly, by the age of four, and immediately developed an interest for all genres of books, often getting grasped in the world of literature for hours. This might be the main reason why one of his aspirations during childhood and adolescence was to become a published science fiction writer someday and, in fact, still has this goal set for a distant future, although other priorities have taken a more important role in his life. Teenage years was also the time when he took the opportunity yo join a garage rock band as a drummer which didn't end well but Mark kept the passion for this genre of music ever since nonetheless.
Mark's first encounter with the paranormal was during the prom of his older sister Rayne, when he found the girl tied and locked up in the closet by someone who looked exactly like Rayne and had decided to go there instead of her and cause an utter chaos and harm the attendants of the prom for fun. It didn't help at all that the person in question was their ancestor and a six hundred years old witch by the name Ashley, as she informed them. Together the siblings managed to find the witch and get her outside to talk, only for them to be left in a greater confusion when Ashley went off to do other business, which she told them was raising a demon named Samhain.
Mark and Rayne asked parents about their lineage and got an explanation that their ancestors were witches though quit practicing magic years ago. The topic of witchcraft was then banned from being mentioned again or researched to which the siblings ultimately agreed. It didn't, however, keep them from looking it up in secrecy, only for all attempts to discover something more about their heritage to be unsuccessful. As they later figured out, witches were not the only supernatural beings that existed in the world.
When his sister brought home a stray dog, it was no surprise to Mark who knew of her kind-hearted nature and readiness to help others, especially when it came to abandoned animals. Even though the boy himself was not at all so passionate about rescuing wild things and viewed the situation skeptically, he was okay with the dog but kept an eye on the creature. When one night he heard screams from his sister's room, he naturally didn't expect for the reason to be the fact that the was animal ripping the flesh of Rayne's best friend who was staying over while their parents were out of town. On his way to the said room he collided with his sister already on her way to him to the point where they both fell to the ground. Interrupted by the sudden noise coming from the hallway, the beast immediately appeared right there and bit Mark's leg while Rayne was dragging the stunned guy away to the bathroom and fortunately locked the door behind them. Such an obstacle couldn't stop the dog for a long time, and there was no way to escape alive for them. All they could have done was to wait for the creature to eventually get to them, sooner or later, until a sudden gunshot out of nowhere killed the dog. Abruptly complete silence surrounded them but Mark and Rayne cautiously waited for a while before opening the bathroom door again hence nothing indicated of something waiting out there to attack them. They managed to catch a glimpse ofheir savior, a fully dressed man who unraveled that his occupation was hunting things such as the creature on the floor, which instead of a dead dog that they expected to see was the body a stark naked man.
Mark was grateful for getting saved indeed, though something at the back of his mind didn't leave him alone even when police had taken away both dead bodies from their house, and it was something other than being a witness to two murders and nearly being killed by a thing that was not a human and not an animal either. Not only the wound where he was bitten during the incident healed much faster than normally, his senses, strength and speed suddenly had increased by a lot. If such new abilities weren't more than enough on their own, an uncontrollable transformation into a dog - a Labrador Retriever as he later came to a conclusion - was something that made Mark question his sanity entirely. His sister became his number one trust person and helped him deal with red meat cravings, another side effect of turning into a skinwalker.
The unfortunate event ruined the idea of a bright future he had in front of him completely, still despite the inevitable he attempted his best at keeping a normal life. When Rayne went to college, he decided to accompany her, but peace they both dearly hoped for didn't last that long, so the hunter who had saved his and his sister's life soon found them again. The man had wished that the guy would be lucky enough to avoid turning into a skinwalker and since he hadn't, the hunter was forced to kill him, ending Mark's life with a single bullet and leaving his family devastated. At least for some time.
Right there and then should have been Mark's end, at the young age of eighteen, except that it wasn't. For once odds were at his favor, so God brought him back to life, just like he had brought and will bring for the time being a selected few. Once he found himself in the middle of nowhere world's forgotten, believing that there must be a reason behind receiving such a reward, he decided to spend the second chance to live wisely.

For Mark it was like waking up from a pleasant and strangely vivid dream that he couldn't help but forget completely soon after returning back to consciousness and becoming aware of his surroundings. His eyes suddenly opened wide, only for a wave of shock to wash over him as he attempted to take in a deep breath and switch his position to sitting up but ending up only banging his forehead against, as he assumed, a wooden board that kept him from receiving oxygen. Pure panic and persistent instinct to survive no matter what forced him to try and get out of the tight space, and with one swipe the wooden plank broke in half, for the next obstacle to present itself when soil covered him head to toe.
Perhaps under other circumstances it would have surprised him how effortlessly he got out of the... grave. Yes, grave was the exact name of the trap he had gotten himself into, as Mark realized whilst staring past the pit he dug, right at a tombstone and reading whom it apparently belonged to. [/span]"Mark Baily 1991 - 2009" in neat letters was engraved into the dark grey slate. Clueless as to whether he should burst into laughter from irony or faint due to shock upon realization that it was his own freaking gravestone, he did his best at keeping a composed posture as he strove to recollect memories of the most recent events that came to his mind. Closing his eyes for a moment, he could perfectly see behind his eyelids the last thing he was assured to happen in reality: shock as the man, the hunter whose mission was hunting creatures like him even after saving his and his sister's life, pointed a gun right at his chest and, before Mark would react and do anything to avoid such an outcome, pulled the trigger.
None of it made sense whatsoever. He was never the kind of person to believe afterlife, reincarnation, or the possibility to return back from the dead. Even if he would for a moment accept the likelihood of it happening, then he certainly wouldn't be the first on the list of those people who deserved another chance to live. And yet there he was, standing next to his own graveyard, confused, puzzled, and feeling uncannily empty, only with a couple of distant memories that he had no proof of being true. What about his family? His sister? She was right there when he got shot, was she assured of his death? Knowing Rayne, she would definitely try and track that hunter down, at least if the roles were reversed that was exactly what Mark would do himself. He instantly decided right where he had to go next.
