Full Name: Theodosia Burr Alston Nickname/Alias: alias - Thea Burton Age/Date Of Birth: 235 - June 21, 1783 (turned at age 29) Race: Creature Occupation: Chemist... more specifically, fragrance creator and saleswoman Species Group: European Vampire Play-By: Nina Dobrev
Supernatural Speed: European vampires are incredibly fast and move in a blur.
Supernatural Strength: European Vampires are stronger than most species of vampires but it also depends on their age, as they get stronger as they grow older.
Supernatural Agility: European Vampires possess super-human agility. They have shown that they can move quickly, jump very high, climb, and run incredibly fast without difficulty or exhaustion. Vampires can jump with their super speed too.
Supernatural Senses: European Vampires have extremely keen senses of hearing, sight, smell, and taste that far exceed those of humans. They can hear whispered conversations, even ones in far of buildings and on phones, though most vampires typically learn how to tune out most ambient noises when it's not necessary to hear them. European Vampires can also smell blood from several meters away, and see in total darkness. These senses improve and grow stronger with age and experience as well. Their senses of taste are also enhanced, allowing them to detect the presence of drugs, alcohol, or even what the person ate in someone's blood.
Regeneration: European Vampires recover tissue from any form of physical damage to their bodies within seconds, though they still feel the pain of a wound before it heals. They can snap their bones back into place after they have been broken and have been seen to fully recover from gunshots, stab wounds, and torso impalement very quickly, so long as they had consumed a regular diet of human blood prior to the injury.
Healing Blood: European Vampires are able to heal humans by feeding them their blood, it will not turn them. The only way for them to turn is if they die while having the vampire blood in their system. If a human drinks fresh blood from a vampire, a psychic and emotional bond is created. The vampire will be able to sense the location and emotions of the human.
Progeny Link: The one who made a vampire has a special link to those they create and can sense any pain or duress the progeny undergoes, and know when a progeny has died. The maker can "call" their progeny by saying their name out loud, causing the progeny to become aware their maker is calling out for them. The progeny experiences a shiver, and may be able to tell where their maker is. Lastly a maker can force their progeny to do anything they want, as long as they make what they say a direct order.
Immortality: They have the potential to live forever without aging.
Enhanced Emotions: European Vampires experience emotions more powerfully than humans. Emotions like love, joy, and happiness are magnified for vampires, allowing them to live life more intensely. This ability allows vampires to feel emotions at their peak regardless of their age.
Emotional Control: European Vampires have the supernatural ability to remove or dull their emotions by "turning off" or "switching off" their humanity, which is directly connected to their emotions. Doing so allows them to block out their more negative emotions, such as fear and guilt, allowing them to feed and kill without remorse, go against any opponent without fear, and relieve themselves of painful feelings such as grief, loss, depression, and shame. A vampire without their emotions is far more calculating and direct than one who keeps them on. However, the vampire can become a remorseless killer, and are almost unrecognizable from the person they truly are, as blocking out negative emotions also causes their positive emotions to become dulled or nonexistent as well. Vampires are capable of turning their humanity back on and bringing back their emotions, but it is difficult as a result of the fact that they will be bombarded with all of their repressed emotions in addition to the guilt of anything they did without their humanity (such as killing or torturing innocent people or loved ones) with enhanced intensity.
Mind Compulsion: European Vampires have the ability to influence and control thoughts, emotions, and behavior and can alter or erase memories by eye contact. They are not able to compel other vampires or any other kind of creature.
Animal Blood: Animal blood, while somewhat satisfying a European Vampire's hunger and sustaining their undead life, will make the vampire considerably weaker than they would be if they had drank human blood, causing their physical abilities to be inferior to a human-blood-consuming vampire, making them heal much more slowly, and making their compulsion less effective.
Excess Blood: If a European Vampire drinks too much blood, they will display alcohol intoxication-like qualities (such as euphoria, confusion, stupor, etc). However the amount of blood needed for this to happen becomes larger the older the vampire is.
Hunger: A European Vampire has a strong blood lust that they have to fight to control; most cannot.
Broken Neck: Breaking a vampire's neck will not kill them, but it will render them in a death like state for varying amounts of time, depending on the diet and age of the person in question.
Decapitation: Dismembering or manually removing the head of a European Vampire will result in instant and permanent death.
Desiccation: European Vampires who abstain from blood for extended amounts of time will eventually desiccate and mummify.
Heart Extraction: Removing the heart of a vampire will result in permanent death. Vampires have the strength to plunge their hands right through the flesh of humans, allowing them to punch their hand through the thorax of a person and pull out their heart. If it is a vampire who has been subjected to this, then they will desiccate upon their death, causing their bodies to become a grey, dry husk with their vampiric veins exposed all over their body.
Sunlight: Sunlight and UV rays burn vampires on contact, and prolonged exposure will cause them to burst into flames and die. However, this weakness can be mitigated by the use of a piece of jewelry enchanted with a specific protection spell by a witch for a particular vampire, though it requires the vampire to wear the jewelry at all times.
Vampire Bloodline: If the alpha or one of the vampires the alpha himself turned dies, then any vampire they turned and the generations after will die as well.
Wood: Wounding a European Vampire with a wooden weapon such as wooden bullets will incapacitate them, and it will take longer for them to heal their injuries than if the wounds were caused by any other substance. Stabbing a vampire through the heart with a wooden stake will result in instantaneous and permanent death. It's possible for a vampire to build up a resistance to the effects of wood, but it's not possible for them to be fully immune. In order to kill Thea, as she's the Alpha's progeny, the stake must be dipped in the Alpha's blood.
Silver: Any contact with silver will burn the skin of the European Vampire it touches.

Likes (At Least 3): ❤ flowers ❤ being treated like a lady... more specifically, like a princess ❤ men, but she's been known to enjoy the more delicate touch of a lady from time to time
Dislikes (At Least 3): ✗ being ignored or left out ✗ disgusting smells, which are even worse with her heightened senses... seriously, brush your damn teeth ✗ sloppiness and filth
Fears (At Least 2): ☬ being alone ☬ being betrayed
Goals (At Least 1): ★ To find... or rather.. make a new family for herself. Friends... Perhaps a partner for life... maybe even a child or two... Others that she can trust and count on... Forever...
Personality: Theodosia tries to be good. Or... at least.. she's not outright vicious and cruel. When she was... for lack of a better word, alive... she was a proper lady, and she tries to continue to emulate that persona even to this day. In her experience, most men like to play the hero... and many women too these days... and she is perfectly willing to play the role of flirtatious damsel in distress just to stroke someone else's ego. Thea can be quite charming, as she is very good at reading people and will usually try to adapt her personality in a way that she thinks will be most beneficial to the situation... to her getting closer to someone she targets. She also always does her best to maintain her best appearance... to dress well, to have her makeup done, and to wear the perfect perfume.
Even though Thea does like to drink human blood straight 'from the tap', she doesn't aim to kill. She tries her best to be discreet when she feeds, and will do so as privately as possible, compelling the memory away from her victim when she's finished and leaving them in what she feels is a safe enough place. But if she finds someone that she really likes... someone that she really feels a connection to, she is quite likely to turn them into a vampire and won't bother asking if that's what they want. And if she's chosen you, she can be extremely clingy and possessive. Her abandonment issues are all too real.
Positives (At Least 3): ✧ charming ✧ loyal ✧ tough
Negatives (At Least 3): ✦ possessive ✦ manipulative ✦ clingy
Parents: Aaron Burr and Theodosia Bartow Prevost (both deceased) Siblings: five unnamed step-siblings Other Family: Husband, Joseph Alston (deceased), son, Aaron Important Others:Kyle Welch , her maker, and a few other progeny History: Theodosia was born in Albany, New York and grew up in New York City. As a child, her father greatly stressed the importance of her education and supervised her heavily when it came to her studies. Aside from the more traditional subjects, he also made sure that she studied arithmetic, Latin, Greek, and English composition. Her father kept her on her toes with her English composition through a correspondence that added up to thousands of letters, all of which contained detailed corrections and criticisms from her father.
Her mother passed away when Thea was eleven. after which her father began to take more interest in her social education as well. By the time she was fourteen, she was behaving like a proper lady, and even acted as hostess to many esteemed guests at one of her father's estates.
Thea married Joseph Alston in 1801... a pairing arranged on behalf of her father, who believed that her marriage to a Southern gentleman might help relieve him of his own financial burden. But Thea did end up developing romantic feelings for her husband, thankfully, and the two of them had a son in 1802, whom she named after her father. Unfortunately the birth left Theodosia in poor health and many trips were made over the next few years in efforts to find a cure for her condition. In the meantime, her father was participating in meetings that would eventually lead to him being arrested for treason in 1807. Thea was by his side during the trial to provide support. Although he was acquitted, he left for Europe for the next four years or so. Thea in the meantime raised money to send to him and transmitted messages to secure his safe return home.
Unfortunately, her son Aaron fell victim to Malaria in June of 1812 at age 10 and passed away. Thea was distraught, and her health fell into a rapid decline, to the point where she had to wait until December of that year to return to New York. She boarded a ship called the Patriot from Georgetown to make the journey.
During her travel aboard the Patriot, she met a kind gentleman named Kyle, and she found his companionship comforting in spite of her poor health and heartache over her son, even after he revealed to her what he was... a vampire. During the journey, however, the Patriot was attacked by pirates, and in the midst of the battle, Thea begged him to turn her. Kyle told her that it would mean she couldn't return to her family... it wouldn't be safe for her to be around them, and she agreed, scared of suffering from a painful death as people were being slaughtered viciously around her.
Thea traveled with Kyle for many years, learning from him, mostly about her new abilities and how to control her thirst. She met many different people through him, including a pair of interesting cousins who were something called nekomata, Leon and Felix. Eventually, she and Kyle parted ways in 1861 when he decided to fight in the war. She was distraught, and angry, having grown extremely attached to him, and although she begged him not to leave her, they did separate. Thea took his leaving hard... she felt betrayed and abandoned, and as a result, she went on a spree of trying to find new companions to replace him. She ended up turning a dangerous number of new vampires over the next century or so, some of whom were killed by hunters or their own stupidity really... others who left her just like Kyle had. Over time it really broke her psyche.
Still, although she may not have been emotionally stable when it came to her abandonment issues, she was a very well-educated woman, and continued to learn as the years passed, picking up various skills and trying several different occupations. In most recent years, she has been working as a perfume and cologne developer, using her knowledge of chemistry and aromatherapy to create a line of fragrances that just may have a little something extra to them. All the while she is still trying to find that perfect companion... to create a perfect family who won't leave her like all the others.
The gas station was so empty that Beth almost wasn't sure if the pumps even worked anymore. There was a lone dusty green pickup truck parked in the very back corner of the gravel parking lot that ran alongside the small convenience store. The filling area looked to be the only section that was paved, and it was old, cracked pavement at that. She considered waking Dean in case he needed to use the restroom but she decided against it. Even if he did need to make a pit stop, she doubted he'd want to do it in a smelly, cockroach-infested gas station bathroom.
Beth pulled up to the pump and shut off the engine, looking over at him once more. Two nights ago she had kissed him and run out before giving him a chance to reject her. They hadn't talked about the kiss since then and he hadn't given any sign of clue that it even phased him. If Dean was at all intrigued or repulsed by that one little display of affection, he was very good at not letting it show.
She got out of her car and closed the car door, walking around to look at the pump and frowning when she realized there was no credit card reader. With a sigh she hoisted her bag onto her shoulder and went inside to prepay. There was a fairly young guy slouching at the counter and looking far too tired or too stoned to work there... it was hard to tell which. Beth decided to wander around the store to gather up a few snacks for the road. She needed to stretch her legs anyway.
