History:
Gabriel is an Archangel. He is a messenger of God. For a long time Gabriel appeared as a Trickster because he was attempting to hide from his position. He was tired of the fighting within his family so he left. He found his peace on Earth where he belonged with the humans. He liked to play tricks on them, especially on Dean and Sam Winchester from time to time. Gabriel made Sam believe that Dean was dead over and over and over again. Then he put the both of them in a TV world.

When the Apocalypse happened, Gabriel was asked by the Wincehsters to help stand up to Lucifer, his brother. At the time, Sam and Dean didn’t realize who Gabriel was. Not until Gabe had tricked them into a TV land. After figuring out that Gabriel was actually an Archangel instead of just ‘The Trickster’ Sam and Dean trapped him and asked him for help in destroying Lucifer. Gabriel flat out refused because he didn’t want to fights brother. He also didn’t want anything to do with this war. Sam and Dean released Gabriel from their trap, and Gabriel had lots to think about.

Gabriel eventually ended up helping Sam and Dean with Lucifer because Lucifer was trying to use Sam as a vessel. When attempting to save the Winchesters from Lucifer’s fate, Gabriel fought his brother head on. Lucifer reminded him that he was the one who taught him all the tricks, and then he destroyed Gabriel. Or so everyone thought. Actually, instead of destroying him, Gabriel tricked Lucifer into thinking that he was dead. That was in fact a third decoy he used, but it was more lifelike. Gabriel was pretty powerful.  Gabriel then went on his own for a while, and into hiding only because he knew Lucifer would look for him.

Eventually in one of the hotels he hid at, Hell managed to find him. One of the higher up demons went into the hotel room and placed holy oil in a circle, when Gabriel came back from doing whatever hew was doing, they trapped him.  

The demons captured him and once they did, they chained him up in Hell, for years. Literally in chains. Everyday was a different form of torture for Gabriel. He saw his friends and family torturing him or being tortured. 


Gabriel had been on the racks, with different demons coming for a bite. One time, they would come as people he loved. Castiel for example would come and torture him for a day, Dean and Sam Winchester. Gabriel knew it wasn’t them but his mind was playing tricks on him. Gabriel tried hard not to break, each day he would say ‘I’m the Archangel Gabriel,” Over and over again to remind him that he was still strong. The demons kept taking his grace, little by little to use it for....something they wouldn't tell him what. 

Eventually Gabriel broke. Not just even slightly, but he broke, hard. He started sobbing, and sobbing uncontrollably, he was bloody, and his wings were torn from the demons pulling the feathers almost one by one. Some grew back, but others not so much. He was laughed at, humiliated, and hurt almost in front of ALL the demons of Hell being laughed at. “Some Archangel,” they would shout.

Gabriel thought he would never escape, until one day, he didn’t really know what happened, but he passed out from all the torture, and the next thing he knew he woke up, back on Earth. He was confused as to how he got there. All he wanted to do was hide, he was bloody and disgusting with only a cloth on him. He found a hotel room in a small town, one he didn’t know was distant from everything and trapped off. All he knew was…it was safe, for now. He was too scared to even shower or try to make himself look ‘decent.’ All he wanted was for things to be the way they were, he wanted his powers back. He wanted his family back, but he had no idea how to find them.

Gabriel never thought he would be tricked the way he was tricked ever in his life. He played a joke on everyone, made everyone think he was dead, including Lucifer.  So he thought anyway. Everyone vanished after he was 'killed' but Lucifers demons did not. Gabriel started to walk away whistling all happy he won, when suddenly he was grabbed from behind. 

"Let me go!" he shouted.  He tried escaping and using his powers, but he couldn't.  The demons managed to get him in holy oil. He was knocked out, by something and woke up in a cage like area.  He couldn't tell where he was or who had him. "Castiel? Dean? Sam?" he called as he woke up. 

A few demons came over to him snickering, "Look who we have the mighty Archangel Gabriel!" one of the demons aid in a Scottish accent. 

"What do you want with me?" He glared at them.  "I have nothing you could want, I'm not even taking place in this stupid war of yours," he said angrily. 

"Oh you have plenty we want," the demon snipped at him. "You'll remember my name," he said.  "I'll tell it to you later, but for now," he pushed Gabriel againt's the wall and extracted some of his grace.  

Gabriel was too weak already to fight back, warding or something. The demons started to torture him and thats how his new life started.  Years and years went by while he was tortured.  Wings pulled at one by one by the demons.  He was taunted and made fun of, put on a rock and hung looking down at the demons all while they taunted and laughed at him. 

"Some Archangel you are! You can't even handle Hell!" they would say. 

"I am the Archangel Gabriel!" he snapped back at them. "You will ALL suffer when I am done," he fought for a long time. 

He fought until he couldn't fight anymore.  Gabriel couldn't fathem how exhausted he was. He felt almost human with what they were doing to him. He never knew what day or time it was, or even if he could eat anything anymore. Sometimes he was hungry sometimes he wasn't, he lost track of how much grace they took.  

One day, the torture was going on a usual, he just broke and lost it.  Tears ran down his cheeks and he turned the other way so the demons wouldn't see but it was too late, "Look fellas we broke him!" one of them shouted. 

Gabriel turned not to face them, "I can't..." he said "I can't anymore," he shook his head.  He was bloody, and skinny, and just...didn't look like himself that was for sure. "Please, I beg you for mercy," he muttered.  He felt like a complete looser and then he passed out. 

The next thing he remembered, he woke up.  In a random hotel room. He thought maybe it was a dream, "What? How? Who?" he asked.  He looked around the room not caring, he wasn't in Hell anymore thats all that mattered. "Cas?" he looked around wondering if his brother saved him. "This is a trick..." he muttered. He couldn't even tell reality anymore.  He felt like he was still in Hell being tortured. "Cas...Dean, Sam?" he asked.  He was so confused, but he was afraid to leave. Instead he went under the covers and just stayed there hoping something would make sense.
