Abilities
Because Zane was purified he does not abide to the same rules other demons do. For example; holy water, devil's trap, iron and salt do not effect him.
Demonic Possession - Like angels, demons require a human vessel or "meat suit" to travel on Earth. Unlike angels, they do not need a person's consent. Also, unlike angels, demons can possess corpses. It is easier to take control of people who are in states of heightened emotions or fear. This ability can be thwarted by Anti-possession tattoos. Also under certain circumstances, the person being possessed can regain control if his or her will is strong enough.
Electromagnetic Interference - Demons, like spirits, often disrupt nearby electronics with their presence.
Flight - Only when in their natural forms.
Immortality - Demons have an indefinitely long lifespan and an arrested aging process.
Invulnerability - Injuries that would be fatal to humans, such as broken necks or gunshot wounds, have very little - if any - effect on demons. They can only be killed by special weapons or rituals. Unlike angels they don't heal their vessels. If the "meatsuit" receives too much damage they simply find another human to possess, leaving their former vessel to die.
Super stamina - Demons never tire, and do not require food, water, oxygen, or sleep to sustain themselves. They also do not get hot or cold.
Super strength - Demons possess superior physical strength compared to that of humans; capable of physically overpowering humans and most monsters. The higher ranking the demon, the stronger it is. The highest ranking demons can overpower low-level angels.
Supernatural Perception - Demons are able to see hidden supernatural activity and beings, such as Reapers, ghosts, and Hellhounds.
Supernatural Senses - Demons have an enhanced sense of smell and taste.
Telekinesis - Demons can move or suspend objects and other beings with their minds. Higher ranking demons can use this ability to kill people by snapping their necks.
Soul Reading - Some demons, particularly Crossroad Demons, can assess the condition of one's soul.
Spell Casting - Some demons can practice witchcraft, much like witches, like altering the range/space they occupy. Other demons are adept in Enochian magic which they use to protect themselves from Angels.
Teleportation - Some demons can travel from one place to another instantly, without occupying the space in between.
Thermokinesis - Being able to manipulate the temperature, particularly to make it more hot.
Healing - The ability to heal others out of the context of a deal, albeit a small wound.

Personality:
A demon with a soul. That is what he is known for thanks to have been purified. Being the only one like that he is the first of his kind; which can make him lonely. Zane enjoys his normal life however, finding peace in it. Zane does a lot of charity work which includes volunteering at soup kitchens, coaching basketball at an elementary school, nursing homes, etc. When not volunteering or at school Zane sings at a local coffee shop in the morning and works at as a bartender during the night. This may seem to be a lot for a normal person but not being human he does not need to sleep. Zane loves holidays and goes all out for them, celebrating Christmas is by far his favorite.
Zane gives it his all, to try to fit in. He does what he can in hopes of erasing all the wrong he did for the many centuries before. However he believes nothing can ever fix that he strives to try to be a better person. He has left both of his past lives behind and refuses to go by his names he had then. He does not see himself as a demon anymore and is unsure what he is. No matter what he keeps a low profile, hiding from the flames of hell and the angels of the lord.
The demon, if you must call him that, is extremely protective. Not only is he protective of people he is close to, but also people he has never met. Elderly people and children is who he is most passionate about and would do whatever he had to, to protect someone. Zane also knows how to put himself in other people's shoes, to understand their feelings and thoughts. This makes him a good listener believe it or not.
Zane likes to go out and party, maybe not to the extent his best friend does but he still knows how to have a good time. Because he is a bartender he likes all kinds of drinks and knows how to make some incredible ones. When jamming to music he can usually listen to anything but rap, it seems to just give him a headache and is not his taste. Also like his friend Sawyer, Zane drinks a lot of coffee which is something he get free because he preforms at a small coffee shop.
Guilt eats at Zane every day, every night, all the time. Everything he has done stays with him and he wishes he could just erase it all. He feels he owes a huge debt to the world and is trying to pay it back slowly. He also has a bit of a dark side to him that he can tap into which he rather didn't. This evil side resides in the darkest part of his mind, his bad anger being part of it. Many times when not trusted by a hunter or someone else he get frustrated and even angry.
Last but not least he has a bit of a narcissism problem. Being in his host for so long he sees himself as that person. He loves how he looks and tends to find a mirror a lot to fix his hair or check his teeth. He likes who he is now and wants others to see him the way he does.

History:
Gesmas was born into a hard life. This caused the boy to grow into a man and become a thief. He wasn't just any thief either. Gesmas was famous around Jerusalem and many other places as someone who could steal anything and never be caught. He ran a special little group of robbers who would hide in the wilderness and attack unsuspecting travelers, taking their goods and money and then letting them continue their journey. Gesmas was responsible for robbing the holy family which consisted of Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. They were on their way to Egypt to escape King Herod who intended on killing the infants in the area. The family gave what they had, which was not a lot at all.
He managed to live to around the age of forty when he was caught by roman soldiers. He was given the penalty of death for all the crimes he had committed. The man was hung on the cross left to Jesus Of Nazareth and mocked the man in the middle. Another thief who was on the opposite side of Jesus did not mock him and asked if he would be accepted in Heaven and he was forgiven. When Gesmas died he went straight to hell, his long journey beginning.
Hell was horrible to say the least. Being tortured for so long can really destroy a person... And that's exactly what happened to the man's soul. It was destroyed. Over his time in hell his soul was twisted and ripped and formed into what is known as a demon. Becoming a demon wasn't hard and once he was one he flew through the ranks. Gesmas' name changed and eventually he was known as Zagan.
Zagan ended up becoming a king in hell; a president, leading over 33 legions. He was known to make men witty and was able to turn wine into water, water into wine, and blood into wine. He was also said to turn metals into coins that are made with that metal. He worked with demons often and was eventually made a white eyed demon's apprentice. Amon was known well in hell and to be his apprentice only made Zagan gain more respect.
Zagan often times used crossroad demon's to make deals and get to torture the souls down in the pit. His usual partner was a crossroad demon known as Darius. The two made many deals together and because of him Zagan had many souls in hell to torture that he picked out up on earth.
On August 2nd, 1958 Zagan was making one of his usual deals with Darius. He had found a particular soul he wanted to have down in hell and while Darius made the deal with the person, Zagan went on to have a bit of fun. He didn't get to his destination however because he was captured by someone named Father Thompson. He was held captive over night and the next day the father began purifying the demon. The process took 8 hours and it was painful as all get out but once it was finished he was saved. He now had a soul that wasn't damaged and he was once again a man.
The man set it up for Zagan to go on and live a normal life with a new vessel and that's exactly what he did. Taking the name Zane he went down to Texas and began living a normal life. He didn't know that two days later the priest had died. Zane worked on a farm for a long time, having many animals and thanks to his demon days he had a bank account full of money. He stayed down south on his farm until the year 2003, when a group of demons found him. Upon finding out that he wasn't a normal demon anymore they attacked and caused Zane to flee his home. The demons quickly gave the information to hell and eventually Zane was known as the demon with a soul.
Later in 2009 Zane started college up in New York and began his new life. He met a guy by the name of Sawyer Grant and the two hit it off well. They ended up becoming best friends over time and did a lot together. The two were joined by a third, a girl named Zoey Monroe. Her goal was to be an actress and the three hit it off.
Music school was more than easy on Zane, he was able to sing and play guitar, piano, violin, drums, flute, and the saxophone. He and Sawyer became roommates in a dorm and he got two jobs; performing at a coffee shop during the day then working as a bartender at night. When not going to work he would attend class and on his free time he did charity work, finally feeling he was doing something good with his life.
Just recently Zoey was bitten by a werewolf and started to change at the peak of the lunar cycle. Because Zane is very familiar with the supernatural world he caught on quickly and explained to the girl what was wrong and that he wasn't normal himself. He kept it a secret that he was a demon and just told her he didn't know what he was. He made a deal with her that he would keep her on lock down when it was time for her to change. She was frantic about not wanting to hurt anyone and he made her a promise that he wouldn't let her.
Now he and Zoey are just trying to live a normal life, keeping their secrets and finishing school.

He was out.... He couldn't believe it. The battle to not be ripped to shreds was an ongoing one for a very, very long time. Once he got out of Purgatory there was one thing, and one thing only he wanted to do. Find Sammy. He split from the vampire who got him out and went on his own. He ended up in Flint Michigan of all places. Didn't take Dean long to get a hold of some fake credit cards, and next he would look for Sam.
Once he got out so many things sounded good, a shower for one, but his love for pie and a good cold beer sounded like Heaven. Dean got himself a motel room outside of Flint, Burton he believed they called it. Either way it was time to go out for a bit, get some drinks in him, maybe find a nice girl and... He let his mind go wildly after being in Purgatory for too long. The thirty three year old smirked to himself, it was truly good to be back.
He grabbed some clothes and personal products from a local store and went back to his motel room. The place really didn't have much things of his taste, but it would have to do. Dean sat at a small table that was positioned in front of the room's window. He took some rags soaking them in water and soap. Watching out the window, he scrubbed his jacket. It took about an hour before it was finally clean and he hung it up to let the water dry. Glancing over to the bed his eye twinkled. Oh god, how he forgot what it was like to sleep in a bed. He threw himself into the bed and let out a relaxing groan before glancing over and... there was a small box which asked for a quarter. Dean's face filled with a huge smirk. He was defiantly glad to be back. Putting his hand down his pocket he remembered some change he had found in the room when he got there. Luckily enough there was a quarter. The man rushed to put the coin down the machine and as he did the bed began to vibrate.
"Ooooh, yes!" Dean said as he laid on his back and closed his eyes.
Dean fell asleep for a few hours and when he awoke he saw it was already night time. "Damn" he thought, he must of fallen asleep during the massage the bed gave him. Jumping up, Dean went to the small bathroom. Fixing his hair a bit and putting on some deodorant, he stopped and stared at himself in the mirror. He had made it out of Purgatory, he should be happy, but there was something still bugging him. Castiel. He left the angel there, he knew he and Gabriel were still in Purgatory with Gabriel trying to talk Cas into going back to earth with him. Wait, what was he worrying for? Castiel left Dean in Purgatory, there was no reason to feel bad for escaping himself.
After getting all freshened up Dean grabbed his now dry jacket and rushed out the door. He stopped once he left the room. Oh yeah, he didn't have a ride. Sighing, Dean walked to a small bar down the street. He wasn't going to get his pie right now, but he damn sure was going to get his beer. He walked up to the place seeing the flashy sign with what looked like some legs tripping over each other. "Stumblin' Inn".... Really? What a weird name for a bar. Den chuckled as he looked up at the sign and walked in. The place wasn't packed, that was for sure. He walked over to the bar and ordered himself a beer, turning to some older man who was sitting there also. The two talked a bit and then went their separate ways, Dean back to the motel, and the man to... well wherever he was going.
The next day Dean went out and got himself a pie, eating the whole thing quickly he decided he was bored. Before ditching town Dean thought he should pay the bar another visit before leaving. It was only the afternoon, sure, but Dean felt like he needed another drink.
He walked to the bar and sat exactly where he was the night before. Glancing around Dean noticed there were only three people in there besides himself. He smiled as the cute little red headed bartender walked over to him.
"Hey sugar, can I get you something." Her voice sounded very erotic. She wasn't the same bartender from the night before.
"Uh, just a beer, thanks." Dean shot her a quick wink as she smiled and grabbed him a beer, popping the cap for him.
Ah, it was nice. Just sitting here, having a beer... But Dean felt lonely, he hadn't seen a familiar face yet, and the only one he could think of was Sammy, his baby brother. In all reality Dean knew Sam had probably moved on, just like he did when Sammy was in Lucifer's cage. He was the one to always want to get away from the job anyways. Maybe he shouldn't look for him, but Dean knew he would. He had to see his brother again.
