Abilities
Powers/abilities -
Immortality: They do not age or decay.
Superhuman Strength: They can hit, grab, restrain, or dismember their prey with inhuman strength. It is easy for them to beat grown men fairly quickly in direct physical combat. The older the vampire is, the stronger they are. Vampires who are new have barely any enhancements in strength and are as strong as a regular human.
Telepathy: Older vampires at least of 100 years are able to communicate with others by the use of telepathy, a well as hypnotize, entrance, and see, feel and know what others know just by touching them.
Shapeshifting: Aztec Vampires can shape-shift into a reptilian form, stronger and far more feral than their human form or their regular vampire form. (Just fangs drawn) It causes them to mentally degenerate into mindless animals that can be killed easier as they are not as smart in a fight and are more blood crazed. The oldest of vampires are more adept in this and can even change into their victims after feeding off of them. He has only begun learning this since a couple years ago, and thus is still slightly inexperienced.
Vulnerabilities -
Sunlight: Unlike normal vampires, Aztec Vampires can only come out at night or they will turn into dust, much like the typical lore of vampires.
Decapitation: Cutting off their heads kills them, turning them into dust.
Heart Destruction: Destroying their heart, the organ of blood and source of their strength, kills them and turns them into dust.

Goals (At Least 1):
★ To one day walk in the light of the sun again.
Personality: He tends to be cold, somewhat aloof, or just distant. He's lived a long life, and the novelty of immortality wore off long ago. Now he just seems tired, worn out, and at times exhausted. Yet, despite seeming to be so tired of living, he continues to trudge on, driven by the hope that perhaps one day he will somehow be able to walk under the sun without fear of death. He absolutely loves watching videos of sunrises and the sun in general, finding it brings back the memory of past rituals he treasured.
Yaotl has a dark sense of humor, and can frequently be viewed as entirely inappropriate for the situation. He is not opposed to experimenting with drugs, and is no stranger to getting high. Though with the changes wrought upon his body, it's much harder to achieve the bliss he could attain as a human with the same dose, so he tends to have to take moderately higher doses of drugs.
He watches everything, observing things with the indifference of a scientist. He likes to see how everyone and everything interacts together, particularly the parasitic types. At times, he may manipulate the situation to garner specific results just to observe their effects. He is frequently more friendly to people of non-white descent, and his interactions with white people are cold and tinged with undertones of hate. While this has mellowed out very slightly, he still views white people with disgust from what he has observed over the years of their treatment with the indigenous people of his birth home.
Yaotl's favorite prey of choice is male humans in their prime of life, especially if he comes across arrogant ones. He also tends to experiment (when bored) with drinking from men who are either high or drunk, to see if he is ever affected by what is in their system.
Traits
✧ Intelligent
✧ Excellent memory retention
✧ Observant
Negatives (At Least 3):
✦ Still feels resentful about the treatment of his people in the past, and while he has mellowed out over the years it can still affect his actions today, especially towards anyone who share the same views of or otherwise resemble the white men that he spent so long terrorizing in his past.
✦ Small Addiction problem
✦ Indifferent

Parents: Zyaqui (Father, deceased), Achli (Mother, deceased)
Siblings: 3 brothers and 2 sisters, none living
Other Family: None
Important Others: Quetzalcoatl (God he worshiped as a human and, to an extent, still does to this day), Tlaco (the vampire who sired him), and the Alpha Aztec vampire who went by the name Cleopatra in her later days. Also his cornsnake, Citlalpin.
History: Born in Tenochtitlan to a lower class family, his father was a skilled feather worker, and his mother a well known midwife. While his father had hoped he would partake of the feather working trade and follow in his steps, his mother convinced him to offer Yaotl up to the priests to become one of them. Zyaqui agreed, and they began to plan for his future. Contacting a local priest, they managed to convince him to vouch for Yaotl to give him a chance to attend Calmecac with the noble born.
Yaotl showed an intelligence and drive that his siblings lacked. It would prove to be a boon for him, as the local priest would visit him regularly over the years to give him lessons that would help him when he finally attended Calmecac, as he didn't have the access to private tutors that noble born children would have. Yaotl proved to be studious and swift to learn, quickly drinking up and mastering his lessons. It was no different once he finally entered the school. While the other students didn't take kindly to a lower born being there, he was tactful and managed to survive. A few years later, he had gained the title of priest and was devoted fully to his duties. Yaotl took pride in his work, serving the gods with feverish intensity and devotion. He discovered that he had a bloodthirsty side to him when it had been time for his first human sacrifice, one that outshone many of his peers. He pledged himself to Quetzacoatl, and revered all things sacred to the god. However, his life would soon turn for the worse.
When Yaotl was in his 38th year of life, he found himself enticed by a strange woman, one whom he had never seen before. She called herself Tlaco. She would appear to him at night, carefully seducing him, and whisper promises of enlightenment and gifts that could be given by the great Quetzacoatl himself. Feeling like he had been specially selected by the god to receive these 'gifts' for his devotion, Yaotl readily agreed. The next moments were a confusing blur. He suddenly felt the fangs of a snake sinking into his neck, then found himself on the floor. He heard Tlaco whispering by his ear, but couldn't make out what she said. The next several days were spent in absolute agony. He was fighting an incredibly high fever and sickness, while at the same time he experienced vivid and painful hallucinations that absolutely terrified him. During this time, Tlaco cared for him, hiding them both away in a secret lair away from the sun. It seemed to last forever before Yaotl finished the change. Once he had, he still was lost in himself. His newly changed vampiric body was strong, snake like, and completely overwhelmed his human psyche, rendering him feral. It was only because of Tlaco's attentions that he gradually came back to himself.
He was thrilled for the first few hours of his new life, once he had returned to his self. He was strong, fast, and was able to see and hear things he had never been able to before. But once the sun rose, that was when he was almost broken. Discovering that the light of Quetzacoatl would forever shun him from that moment on, he despaired and grieved deeply. Yaotl felt deep hatred towards Tlaco for tricking him, and hatred for himself for falling for it. But as much as he despised her, he needed her to guide him on how to survive as he was now. Yaotl eventually forgave her for her actions, believing she was just as misguided as he had been, a line of thinking she humored him with. Yaotl refused to just lay down and die, unable to give up his love of the sun. So he vowed to one day find a way to become human again.
Tlaco would mentor him for the next 10 years, guiding him and showing him how to survive as an already rare species of vampire. She taught him all that she knew of their alpha and their line, the places she had seen in her already long life, and all that she had learned. After 10 years, she left him to fend for himself without a word or explanation. Yaolt would not see Tlaco again for another 106 years. He would live through the fall of the aztec empire, and see the spanish conquistador Hernan Cortes take control of his birth city, which led to the eventual downfall of the aztec empire. Yaolt began a reign of terror all his own, hunting down the spanish soldiers at night and making them fear the land around them. He would continue to do this for decades.
Yaotl came across Tlaco again only one more time. She had come and found him, to try and convince him to leave New Spain with her, to go to the great deserts across the sea to try and find their Alpha. For the first time, he was scared. The journey was so long, and too much could go wrong. So, he said goodbye. He could see how much it hurt Tlaco to have him refuse her, but she turned and walked away. He would never again see her.
As the centuries passed, he watched as the United States of America came to be, and from there watched as the land and people around him were torn down and destroyed by the white people. The destruction of the temples, sacred texts, history as it was, all served to burn a deep hatred within him. Seeing his people regress to uneducated and oppressed victims from the once fierce warriors they had been, hurt him deeply. His attention was turned towards the white people and one night he slipped over the newly stated border and began to work his terror in the nights of the newly settling states. He never stayed in one spot for long, spending years travelling back and forth across the country. He gradually began to calm down and spent more time observing and learning, determining that to have an effect as the generations advanced, he needed to better understand them. As new discoveries and knowledge were garnered by humans, the old fears grew less and less effective. And so he would watch, and after a time the stories inspired by his acts twisted and changed, becoming little more than a vague memory. A memory that becomes all too real for his victims. He would frequently travel back to his homeland to see what changes were occurring there, always hoping that he would discover positive news, though frequently Yaotl found disappointment. His feeling of having no place in the world was slowly beginning to grow as humanity trudged on its evolutionary path.
Gradually he began to carve out a niche for himself back in America, building a cover to hide from the growing threat of hunters. As modern technology blossomed, he began to spend more and more time studying the things humanity was discovering as even after all this time, Yaotl still thrived on learning in all forms. It provided him with some amusement to compare what he had been taught in his youth, versus what he was learning now. It was even funnier to him to read the theories and supposed current knowledge of the Aztecs, because it makes him shake his head at what people will destroy then try to learn about only after the damage was done. He discovered a deep love for the fields of science, taking night courses in the field of parasitology. He was absolutely fascinated by parasites of all forms, and over his long life had seen it prevalent in even humans. Gradually, he gained a position in a lab as a night time assistant. He is still disgusted by the rampant racism he witnesses and occasionally experiences first hand, but he has gradually loosened his grudges over the centuries. He still has them, and they flare up in full force on occasion, but he has reigned them in better.
For as long as he had lived, Yaotl has never seen another Aztec breed of vampire. Tlaco was the only one. And while he has never met her, he can sense that the Alpha is likely still somewhere in the world. He's not entirely sure he wants to meet her. There are still likely things he is not even aware of that he can do. However, his feral side still scares him, especially in this day and age when it is so much harder to hide if you make a mistake.
Eventually, he found himself in the midst of a strange new town, and everything as he knew it had changed. At least he had been holding Citlalpin, and so she was on his adventure with him.[/div]

RP Sample: The vampire leaned back in his seat, propping his feet up on his workstation. Idly he hummed a tune as he read through the pages of his research paper he was working on. His dark eyes flicked side to side over each word, and the room was silent, save for the breath of the lab equipment. As he turned another page, the door to the darkened lab opened. Glancing up at the scrawny youth who stood there, he raised his brows in a 'yes?' manner.
"Hey uh...Vidal? Is it alright if I time out now?"
"Have you finished taking the samples I asked for?"
"Yeah. I stored them as per your instructions."
"Well then Mark, you can go."
The youth grinned, thanking Yaotl as he quickly scurried off. The vampire allowed himself some time to continue with his paper, before he stood and made his way to check the samples. Mark was an annoyance most days, but he at least knew how to do honest work and, unlike the other interns, did exactly what he was asked to. He even held a level of respect for people regardless of their descent that garnered the vampire's grudging tolerance in return. Yaotl could also appreciate that the boy was a night owl, and so had gained his position as Yaotl's current intern only because he was willing to stay late at the lab, sometimes not going home till almost 3 in the morning. Setting the samples back, Yaotl moved over to a small glass tank that sat on his desk. Reaching in, he pulled the cornsnake out and allowed her to explore for a bit as he stroked her strong, slender body.
"Well Citlalpin, what do you say. Should we keep Mark around for a bit once his internship's up?" He quietly asked her. The snake just flicked her tongue out as she slithered over his paper on the desk. "I agree. He may have a bright future ahead of himself." The vampire sighed and glanced towards the curtained window, where he could smell and hear the rain that poured down upon the lab. "A very bright future indeed."
