Chapter 1 - The Strong Will Survive "The weak die out and the strong will survive, and will live on forever." - Anne Frank
It was dark... Cold... The sounds that horror movies are made out of coming from all different directions. It seemed like there wasn't any wind blowing. A dirty blonde headed man slowly peeked outside of a dark hole in the side of a huge mountain, covered in stones and dead bushes. His hazel eyes darted around, it was obvious he was very alert. His eyes showed fear, yet had a killing intent... If you looked into them long enough you could also see pain, loneliness... You could see the feeling of being lost, that the man held deep inside. He quickly glanced back into the cave that he was debating on emerging from. A small pit where a once burning fire sat in the dark, nothing but ashes from the things which were burned inside. As the cave went, it got smaller and smaller and along the cave's wall, in the back, there was a small hole which led to an enclosed area where the man had tried to hide himself inside it and get some sleep a few hours prior.
The thing was... He was in a place called Purgatory... Which he thought was kind of funny... Here he has been to Heaven and Hell.... Why not add another to the list? In all honesty though, it wasn't funny... Purgatory is a place where the monsters that go bump in the night end up after they die. The thing is, Dean was far from a monster.... Okay, not in his book... But he was not a razor sharp tooth creature who fed on human blood... No, Dean was an ordinary guy trying to save the world... Okay, maybe that's contradicting? Dean has never been anything but a hero... Saving the world with his brother Sam was just a typical day for him.
However this last time he ended up being sent to this place for killing something called a Leviathan.... There's no need to get into all that now, all you need to know was they planned on eating everyone but the Winchester Brothers and their companions by their side's stopped them... Just with that small price of sending Dean Winchester and his once best friend, Castiel to Purgatory... Oh, you see I said once best friend? Right, well after arriving Castiel quickly took off, leaving Dean alone in this horrible place. Dean considered him his best friend, if not family... Castiel is an angel, which is strange yeah but if you lived the life of Dean Winchester you wouldn't think so. So after he was abandoned he couldn't help but feel hurt... Because as if it couldn't be worst... This wasn't the first time Dean had someone close to him let him down in some way.... You can only imagine the pain going through his mind as he stumbles through this cold, scary, foreign world.
Dean looked back out of the cave then quickly made a run for it. There was a couple blind spots so the best he could do was to dart out as quickly as possible and hope nothing is around him... But with Dean Winchester's luck... There was. As soon as he made a run for the nearby tree line something growled and jumped at him from on the side of the mountain. Dean quickly turned around, his homemade blade ready to attack when the gross creature tackled him to the ground. As soon as his back hit the dirt below the thing began it's attempt of consuming him... At Dean's first glance he noticed it was a creature called a Rugaru... Nasty sons of bitches. He quickly rolled them over, allowing himself to get the upper hand for now. Dean knew it wouldn't last long because Rugaru's had enhanced strength. Dean quickly lifted the blade and slashed through the monster's throat, then doing it once more to fully decapitate it. Knowing it's only weakness was really fire, Dean quickly made haste and started off in a random direction.
As Dean's feet stomped through the leaves which scattered the ground, he stayed very aware of his surroundings. He watched the bushes, the tops of trees, and the deep water in the nearby rivers. He had to catch his breath so he quickly turned around and threw his back up against a tree. He was tired... He was tired of fighting all the time. He was tired of being afraid all the time. He just wanted to rest. He just wanted to... Give up.... No. There had to be a way out, he couldn't be stuck here. He had to get back to Sammy. He swallowed as he thought of Sam, his younger brother.
In all honesty, Dean couldn't help but wonder if Sam had moved on without him. If Sam had gotten that normal life like he wanted, now that he was free of Dean... Hell, when Sam was thrown into the cage he himself tried to have a normal life. Granted it was because he knew that it was what Sam wanted him to do, but he did... That year with Lisa... His mind now wandered to them... Lisa and Ben, her son. He had Castiel wipe their memories of him but even though they didn't remember him, he still remembered them. It hurt, leaving them... Because honestly he cared so much... So much that he had to give them up.
Dean shook his head and let out a shaky breath, taking a few glances around then walking off, keeping a steady fast pace. His mind went back to thinking as he walked on. What if Sam did move on? What was he suppose to do?... He couldn't live a normal life... He couldn't let people die when he could save them, it was his duty. It was more than that though... Dean honestly just doesn't see himself allowed to be happy... To have a happy ending... A light at the end of the tunnel... No... He was cursed to be miserable... To have a horrible ending... With nothing but endless darkness at the end of this already darkened tunnel. He would have to let him go... He wouldn't want to, but it would be the best thing to do... Just keep an eye on Sammy... Make sure he is safe and if he finds a girl... Make sure they are both safe. He couldn't let another incident like Jessica happen to his little brother...
When a branch falls from a tree behind him Dean quickly snaps around, ready to attack. He looks into the trees, but sees nothing... He begins to move again, he can't afford to stick around in one area for long. As he came up upon a big field of hills he stopped... There was no way in hell he was going to go out there, in plain site where everything could see him. It wasn't happening, instead he would lurk the outskirts of the field and make his way to the other side. As he crept around the sides it would soon be discovered that avoiding the fields didn't matter anyways. A group of vampires suddenly surrounded the man and Dean quickly looked around, turning around fully to see how many there were... At least ten, wait no... More... He looked up in the trees and saw some watching from above. The man in the leather jacket swallowed then watched as a few of the vampires made room as another was walking up to Dean... This man was pretty buff, short black hair, very messy, with very dirty and torn clothes, much like Dean. However the man's attire was very old fashioned, he even seemed to be wearing what was once a cape.
"Hello, Dean..."
Dean narrowed his eyes at the vampire, not showing any fear.
"It's nice to..... Finally meet you... I've heard so much about you..."
Dean glanced around as he spoke, observing the creatures surrounding him.
"Yeah?... Well, you have me at a disadvantage... Who the hell are you?"
The man chuckled and shook his head, wiping his mouth gently. He looked Dean up and down then looked into his cold eyes.
"I have to say... You're not as big as I thought you would be."
That just pissed Dean off more and he tightened the grip on his knife. He had no idea how he would escape this ambush, but by God he would. Even if that meant dying.
"Maybe I didn't ask nicely enough... I said who the fuck are you?"
The man raised his eyebrows then looked around at his men. They all had the same expression on their face, shocked. The man quickly snapped his gaze back onto the human and rose his hands, as to show how high and mighty he was.
"My name is Isaac..."
Dean snorted slightly.
"Isaac? Here I was thinking you were going to say Nosferatu or Dracula..." He ended his sentence with a couple laughs. "So what?... Are we going to get started or are you ladies going to let me be on my merry way?"
Isaac snarled and a handful on vampires lunged at Dean, their shark-like fangs drawn. Dean quickly swung his knife at one of the vampires, aiming to cut off it's head. However, another vampire tackled him from the side and sent him flying to the ground. Being tackled to the ground was starting to become a regular thing, a thing Dean wasn't particularly happy about. He went to get up but the vampire was pinning him down, his blade was out of reach due to the fact he dropped it when he was tackled. Dean's eyes widened as the vampire suddenly bit down into his chest. A shout of pain mixed with a growl escaped from Dean as he tried to get the blood sucking leech off of him. However as he soon found out, the other's were about to join in on the human happy meal... He let out a gasp when he felt one bite into his left thigh and elbowed the one biting into his chest. The thing wouldn't let go however, and he kept doing so, looking over at his knife and stretching his other arm out to grab it. As he did a third vampire grabbed the arm and smirked, looking at Dean, his eyes full of insanity as he went to take a bite of Dean's arm. Dean quickly pulled his arm back then grabbed the vampire, pulling him down hard and making him headbutt the back of the head of the vampire attached to his chest. Luckily that managed to cause the creature to stop and Dean tried to roll away, but he was unsuccessful. No matter what Dean did, he could not get away.
As Dean laid there as a vampire feeding bag he looked up, all the noise around him began to be blocked out. Isaac was staring at the scene, clearly enjoying it Dean figured. Dean's attention went to the sky, the cloud filled sky that didn't even show a hint of blue. Was this it? Had he finally reached the end of that dark filled tunnel, to reach the bitter end of his life? As he started to think of Sam and the other's he cared about he saw a vampire's head fly over him, hitting the ground above his own head and then rolling away. His hazel eyes quickly looked down back at the vampires, tuning back into the sounds around him. Suddenly two more of the vampires were decapitated and Dean could finally move... Or at least try. Now that he lost so much blood it wasn't exactly easy. He scooted out from under the bodies of the vampires, looking over to see a man cutting off heads of vampires left and right. Dean looked back to see where Isaac was but he was gone along with the majority of the vampires. He let himself fall back onto the dirt, a small smile on his face as he stared at the sky. He was thinking about him and Sammy.... July 4th... 1996.... He and Sammy snuck out to an open field where they shot fireworks in the sky... Dean could still see the fire works, clear as day... As he laid there, the memory mixed with reality and was as if he could see the fire works shooting into the cloudy day sky. As each one was shot his eyes grew heavier and heavier... Blue... Green... Red... His eyes drifted closed and his mind faded away into the darkness.
As Dean awoke he could smell smoke, then he felt heat and as he came even more into his senses he could hear the cackling of fire. He slowly opened his eyes, his view being a ceiling made out of dirt and as he looked around he noticed the walls were as well. Roots entangled all around, going through the dirt and coming out somewhere Dean could not see. His eyes darted over to the fire and then behind it. There sat the man he saw with those vampires earlier... The one who saved his life. Dean slowly sat up, wincing a bit at the pain in his chest and side. He frowned a bit, opening his jacket and lifting his shirt to see he was bit on the side as well. However, the bites were now stitched up.
"Careful now, don't want to pull any of them there stitches out."
Dean quickly looked back at the man, whose eyes were locked on him. He cleared his throat and moved to sit up anyways.
"Who are you?"
Dean asked, his brow furrowed as he studied the man.
"Name's Benny. Nice to meet ya."
He smiled slightly then reached over the fire, holding his hand out. Dean quickly decided to shake it before pulling his hand back.
"Benny, huh?..."
Dean looked around, trying to see what else he could see.
"Where are we, Benny?"
Benny shook his head and glanced around before looking back at Dean.
"Somewhere safe... Tell me now, what were you thinking going up against all them back there?"
Dean quickly waved a dismissive hand and squinted a bit as he shook his head, as if to say he wasn't interested in all this talk.
"What are you?"
Benny rose his eyebrows a bit, thinking this man get's right to the point but shrugged it off. It was probably better if he knew now. Benny smirked and pointed at Dean, nodding a bit.
"I like you, partner."
Benny sat back a bit and poked at the fire when the flames seemed to die down just a little.
"I'm a vampire."
Dean quickly started to make a move, what move he was unsure, as he just woke up and had no idea where a weapon was, but a move none the less.
"Whoa, whoa! Hang on there, cowboy. If I wanted you dead I wouldn't of saved you back there."
Dean looked at him for a moment but realized he was probably right, Dean wouldn't be alive or stitched up if the guy wanted to eat him for supper. He nodded a bit and swallowed.
"Why'd you save me?"
Benny let out a small sigh and leaned the stick he was using back up against the wall.
"Because I'm not like the other's.... I don't drink humans for one... And secondly, I can get you and I out of here."
Dean leaned forward slightly, his eyes filled with interest and maybe even need. "You know how to get out of here? Like out of Purgatory?"
Benny nodded a bit. "Yes sir, and let me tell you it's not going to be easy... But before we get into all of that how about you get some more rest. It's only been about a couple days."
Dean nodded a bit, laying back down but keeping a watchful eye on this new vampire. Does he really know a way out? And if so, what is this guy wanting out of it?... Dean sighed a bit, his eyes already drifting closed.

Chapter 2 - Alone "A man is born alone and dies alone; and he experiences the good and bad consequences of his karma alone; and he goes to Hell alone or the Supreme abode." - Chanakya
It had been almost a year now since meeting Benny and if Dean was being honest he considered the vampire almost like a brother. Their journey was long together, and they had finally found the way out of Purgatory. Benny hitched a ride on Dean to get back to the normal world, and Dean made sure to get him back into his body until going their separate ways.
That was almost two weeks now, that he and Benny separated. Dean had been on a non-stop hunt for his brother... But everywhere he went was a dead end. The only thing he managed to find was his Impala, parked outside of Rufus' old cabin. That only meant one thing, someone had to leave it there. Dean stayed there for a week but after that he left a note with a number for Sam then head off to search. His search lead him to Lawrence Kansas... He figured maybe if Sam went to live a normal life he did so by Mom's grave. Dean sighed and drove past their old house, wondering if the family he and his brother saved still lived inside. He swallowed, remembering seeing his mother's spirit there, then his mind went back to the fire and he quickly drove off. He ended up at a small restaurant, some new place called Barney's. He sat there and ate quietly, trying their bacon cheeseburgers which were, oh my god amazing. After his meal he got a motel room and went to bed...
That was his life for another week... He would go to the local bar, eat at Barney's, look for Sam, then go back to the room for some shut eye. He decided he was done here in Lawrence, thinking Sam must not be no where here. He drove up to the graveyard where his mother was buried. He walked over to the tombstone and stared at it for a while.
"Hey Mom..." Dean's voice cracked slightly and he frowned at it.
"I just... I wanted to... Talk to someone and..." He shook his head quickly as he cut off. "I can't find Sammy... And I don't know where to go or look... I know I haven't been here to see you in a long time but... I just..." He sighed, his eyes tearing up and he looked around before chuckling a bit. "God, why am I being such a girl?" He looked back at the tombstone before moving closer to put his hand on top of it. "...Love you mom..." He then quickly stuffed his hands in his pockets and walked away hastily, not taking a look back.
As Dean vanished out of the graveyard a young blonde headed woman walked up to where Dean had been standing, she squatted down to look at the tombstone, running her hand over it a bit.
Dean went back to his motel room to pack up before loading the car up and taking one last stop at Barney's. He ordered another bacon cheeseburger with a large coke and a slice of apple pie. As he waited for his food he glanced around at the people inside the restaurant. He watched a group of three teenage girls, giggling and whispering. They every once in a while would look over at him then giggle more, blushes coloring their faces. An older man sat on a stool at the counter, sipping some coffee as he read the local newspaper. The middle aged woman behind the counter was talking to his waitress who was a young blonde, hair in a ponytail. She walked over, making sure to strut her stuff as she made her way to him.
"It's going to be a few more minutes."
The girl smacked her gum a bit but Dean could careless, his eyes were fixated on her breasts, due to the top two buttons being undone. He smiled big and nodded.
"That's okay."
The girl winked then walked away, smacking her gum again and Dean frowned finding it annoying. He turned around and decided to sip his soda the waitress brought earlier, as he did so someone out of no where slid into the booth. Dean raised his eyebrows and looked up, seeing a young blonde sitting across from him. He smiled, confused but she was cute so he didn't care.
"Well hi there." The woman smiled back and glanced down, taking a breath then letting it out.
"Hello..." She glanced over at the waitress then looked back at Dean. "Is it okay if I eat with you?"
Dean blinked, again confused but there was no way he was going to refuse. He kept his smile and nodded once.
"Sure. I didn't see you when I came in, did you just get here?" She nodded a bit and when the waitress came over she ordered a coke as well.
"Actually, I'll have whatever he is having. Thanks."
After ordering she turned her attention back to the man sitting in front of her. She smiled a bit, thinking he was pretty good looking. However, she didn't have time for any of that, she was here to find out something.
"I'm having a bacon cheeseburger with a slice of pie if you were wondering." Dean raised his eyebrows as his eyes got a bit big. "Oh, I'm Dean by the way." She smiled and nodded as the waitress came back and sat her drink down in front of her before turning and walking away. "I'm Beth." She glanced up from her drink and looked into his hazel eyes, feeling lost for a moment before looking back down and putting the straw into her soda.
"Beautiful name...." Was the best he could come up with... Well he didn't come up with it, it sort of just slipped out.
Beth blushed a little and sipped her drink before looking up at him. She thought for a minute how she was going to find out what she needed to know without being so blunt, but maybe being blunt was the best way to go.
"Yeah... So... You've been to the bar down the road right?... Stumbling Inn?" Dean was kind of taken back from the random question but nodded.
"Uh, yeah... I've been there. You see me there or something? I don't remember seeing you, and I'm pretty sure I would."
Beth got side tracked for a moment and raised her eyebrows.
"Why's that?"
Dean smirked a little and leaned back against the booth. "Because I tend to remember beautiful women."
Beth blushed again and looked down, fidgeting a bit with her straw wrapper before looking up.
"Oh.. Um... No, I was just wondering if you might of seen someone..." Beth dug into her purse and pulled out a photo, passing it to Dean.
Dean took the photo and blinked, remembering having a few drinks with the guy a couple nights back. He nodded and passed it back to her.
"I had a few drinks with him a couple nights ago."
Beth couldn't help but feel a little excited... A couple nights ago is way better then a couple of weeks, which she figured would be how long ago it was.
"Really? Did he say anything about where he might be heading?"
Dean furrowed his brow and shook his head. "He mentioned about heading down south... He's not in some kind of trouble or anything, is he?"
Beth shook her head. "No, no... He's actually my father..."
Dean raised his eyebrows a bit, he couldn't help but feel a bit curious. He knew what it was like looking for your father, so if he could help he would. He nodded a bit.
"We talked a bit about Louisiana but I'm not sure if that is where he was heading... He just said he was going to be heading south that night."
Beth nodded a bit as she took another sip of her soda. She then sat back once the waitress came over with both of their meals. The waitress flirted with Dean and Beth narrowed her eyes a bit as she watched her before shaking her head slightly and looking down at her plate. Dean picked up his burger right away before taking a bite out of it and letting out a small approval groan in the back of his throat. Beth smiled a bit and looked up at him.
"I take it the burger's good?"
Dean nodded and made an approval 'mhmm', his mouth too full to actually talk right then. Beth nodded and looked back down at her own plate before taking a bite of the burger herself. Dean sat there quietly for a small moment enjoying the burger. Both the bacon and hamburger being incredibly juicy, with perfectly melted cheese separating the two meats. After taking another bite he looked up at Beth, and watched her for a moment as he swallowed the food that was in his mouth.
"How long have you been looking for your father?"
Beth glanced up at him after he asked the question then swallowed her food and wiped her hands with one of the napkins. She then proceeded to tell him about how her mother took her away when she was a baby and that she thought her step father was her biological father until recently.
"How'd you find out?... About your real Dad?"
Beth looked at Dean for a moment, unsure if she really wanted to tell him about her dreams but for some odd reason she felt like she could.
"I was having these dreams... I kept seeing a man and a baby and each time I dreamed it I would see more and more... I saw my Mom take the baby from the man and that's when I figured out the baby was me..."
"So you think you were dreaming of a memory from back then?" He motioned with his hand a moment, trying to think of how to say what he was thinking. "Like a uh... Like your subconscious trying to get you to remember?" He said, his eyebrow raised slightly.
After he was finished Beth decided to just nod and agree. "Yeah, maybe." Beth knew that wasn't exactly it however. She has been having dreams for a while now, it was her only way of tracking down her father. The only reason why she was sitting in this booth with a handsome man, having some actually good food, was because she had dreamed about Dean talking to her father.
Dean just nodded a bit and went back to eating his food before it got cold. As he ate he silently looked over at Beth, checking her out as she was now looking down at her food at she sipped her drink and continued eating. Dean knocked the nearby bottle of ketchup onto the ground, accidentally on purpose.
He cleared his throat. "Oops..."
He slowly leaned over and bent down to pick it up, casually looking over to get a good look at her ass. Sadly since she was sitting down there wasn't much to see so he quickly sat back up and gave her a smile as she looked at him. She totally could tell that he did all of that on purpose so she scooted out of the booth to stand.
"I'll be right back." She gave another small smile and turned around, walking away.
As she walked she glanced over her shoulder to see if he was watching, and he was. She turned her attention back around in front of her and smirked. Once she vanished into the bathroom Dean glanced around the restaurant before finishing his food and going to pay for both of their meals before she has a chance to come back and pay. After paying he returned to the table to eat his slice of pie, and was very satisfied with the taste.
Beth stood in front of the mirror, checking her hair, make up, and she may or may not of undone the top button of her blouse. She gave herself one last good look over before walking out of the restroom. She saw Dean eating his pie as she slowly approached, taking her seat once again.
"Oh, you finished?"
She did her best not to sound just a little disappointed but failed slightly. Dean looked up and nodded, swallowing before speaking.
"Yeah, just working on this pie now."
He stopped eating for a moment and leaned back to sit up straight. He looked out the window next to him to see cars coming and going. He tried to think of a game plan to get this girl back to the motel. Even though he was going to leave he could wait another night. His eyes were drawn back to her when she reached for the ketchup bottle.
"So uh... Are you staying here in town?"
Beth nodded and looked up at him. "Yeah, at a motel down the road."
Dean raised his eyebrows at her answer. "Really? That's where I've been staying." Beth furrowed her brow at his reply and tilted her head a bit. "Oh?... You're not from around here?" She asked.
Dean shook his head. "I'm actually looking for someone too..." He took a small pause. "My brother.... I was away for a while and just got back a couple weeks ago so I have been trying to track him down."
"Oh, are you in the army?" Beth waited for his answer, feeling pretty interested in this man.
He shook his head once again. "No... I just... Uh, lost contact with him after I left..."
Beth folded her hands on the table. She loved a mystery and that's what this was to her. "Oh, well I hope you find him... Do you have a picture or anything?... We could exchange numbers and if by some weird coincidence I see him I could call you?"
Dean raised his eyebrow a bit. "Yeah?... Uh... Well, I don't have a phone right now, so..."
Beth felt disappointed with his response but nodded. "It's okay. Just an idea." She smiled a bit then grabbed her purse, deciding maybe it was time to go. "It was nice talking to you, Dean."
Dean nodded a little at her response. "Good luck with finding you Dad." Beth nodded as well and smiled. "Thanks... And you with your brother."
Beth walked away and to the counter to pay. As the waitress told her that the man had already paid for both meals she looked surprised and turned around look at him. However he wasn't there but she caught a glimpse of him leaving out the door. She turned toward the woman and gave her a small thanks before rushing out of the door to catch him.
"Wait! Dean!" She hollered as she walked quickly up to him. Dean was opening the driver door to his car when she hollered and turned around with raised eyebrows. "Yeah?"
Once she got over to him she smiled. "I wanted to think you for paying. It was really nice of you but I just feel like I owe you now."
Dean thought for a moment then smirked a bit because he finally got a plan. "You can pay me back by giving me some company? Kind of boring when you don't have anyone to talk to."
Beth looked kind of surprised by his suggestion but nodded and smiled wide. "Really? Sure, yeah. Yeah I could definitely do that." She could of smacked herself at how desperate she sounded.
Dean smiled. "Great. I have to rent a room for another night so where would you like to talk?" Dean thought he was a mastermind because now that they were going to be in a closed room he could make a move... Hopefully the girl didn't have a boyfriend.
"Your room is fine..."
He nodded. "Okay well, I'll meet you there."
Beth nodded then head to her car, getting in and glancing over to see him already pulling out of the parking lot. Dean quickly got to the motel and rented another room before going and parking outside of it, sitting inside of his car as he waited for her. After she got there they both made their way into his room and he noticed the coffee maker which is something his other room didn't have which he thought it was odd. He took off his jacket and hung it on a hook on the wall, next to the door. Beth walked in behind him and glanced around before going and sitting down at the small table in front of the window, making sure she sat on the chair closest to the door. She kept her attention on Dean, just being cautious since he was a stranger after all.
"Want some coffee or anything?" Beth shook her head and Dean nodded. "I'm just going to grab my bag out of my car so I'll be right back..." Dean went back out the door and Beth looked out the window, watching him get into his trunk. Dean shut the trunk and came back in with a black duffle bag. He put it at the foot of the bed then looked over at her before grabbing the remote and turning on the TV. "What do you like to watch?"
Beth looked over at the TV then back at Dean. "I'm okay with whatever..." Dean nodded and turned it on the news and sat down at the table with her. "You okay?" Dean could tell she was a bit on the edge, which was completely different from earlier but he figured it was because she was in a random stranger's motel room. "Yeah, I'm okay. Sorry... So you and your brother, are you close?" Dean nodded a bit. "Yeah. We both pretty much only have each other... We uh... Don't have any other family."
Beth frowned at that and also wondered how they would loose contact then. "I'm sorry... When was the last time you saw him?"
Dean shook his head a bit at her apology then shifted a bit in his seat at her question. "About a year ago..."
Beth's eyebrows raised and her eyes kind of got big. "Really?... Why were you apart for so long?... I mean if you don't mind me asking..." "Um... It's a long story." Dean thought he could of made up a bullshit story but decided against it. He glanced over at the television when the weather was on and frowned. "Looks like we have a storm coming tonight."
Beth's eyes also found the TV then she nodded. She looked down at her hands which were on the table, she fidgeted a bit. "Um... I think I will take that coffee." Dean looked over at her and smiled with a nod. He got up and walked over to the coffee pot, trying to think of a way to break the ice more.
"Got any siblings?" He asked, turning around to look at her.
She nodded a bit. "A brother... His name's Jason..."
"You two get along... or?" She nodded at his question again but didn't really elaborate.
After the coffee was done he poured them both a cup and let her do what she wanted to it. He went and sat back down himself after adding sugar and creamer to his. He took a small sip, burning the tip of his tongue slightly. He sat it down at the table then looked up as she took her seat on the other side. She didn't sip hers however, knowing it was a bit too hot. They chatted for a while, small talk mostly. During their time together Dean's chair gradually went around the table and got closer, until they were sitting close together. They both learned more about each other and the topic of her dreams came back up.
"So you think you are like.... psychic?" Dean asked, knowing very well that it's possible because unlike most people he's experienced crazier things. Beth furrowed her brow and shook her head. "I don't know... I mean if you want to label it, maybe... I always thought of psychics as the people with crystal balls."
Dean chuckled a bit and shook his head as well. Beth swallowed and fidgeted with her now empty cup of coffee. "You think I'm crazy..." She said, keeping her eyes down.
Dean's expression went serious and he shook his head again. "What? No... No, I don't think that. Not at all."
Beth looked up at him and saw how serious he was. She smiled a little then nodded. She glanced around for the trash can, once she saw it she took her styrofoam cup over to it and dropped it in. She stuck her hands in her back pockets and turned around, looking at Dean who was looking back.
"Where are you going to look for your brother next?" She asked, having a question ready for him if his answer is what she hopes.
Dean shrugged a bit and went to get another cup of coffee. "I don't know. Was thinking on heading south... A few places he could be."
Beth swallowed and walked over toward the table, keeping her hands in her pockets. She didn't know what she was thinking but for some reason she had the urge to ask.
"Maybe we could travel together?... Since we both are heading south... Like you said it can get boring..."
Dean couldn't help but raise his eyebrows at her suggestion and turned around to look at her. "We both have cars."
"Yeah, doesn't mean we couldn't follow each other.. or..." She shook her head. "I'm sorry. It was a stupid idea..."
Dean sighed a bit. He wouldn't mind traveling with a beautiful girl like herself but he knew it wasn't a good idea... What would come out of it anyways? It was only a matter of time before demons would know he was back and that would not be something he would want to put her into the middle of... Then there's the fact that everyone who was around him ended up dead. Everything was just screaming no. "Yeah... I'm not sure what my plans are exactly so..."
Beth just quickly nodded and walked over to the door. "I'm going to get back to my room... It's late and I'm tired... It was nice meeting you Dean..." She quickly walked out of the room and headed for hers, the disappointment eating at her even though she knew it was crazy to ask some stranger to travel with her. Dean sighed and watched her leave the room. He turned off the TV then went to the bed and laid down. He stared at the ceiling for a minute, regretting letting her leave. After fifteen minutes he sat up, looking around the room. He could see the red neon street sign shining into the window. The yellowish wallpaper covering the walls made Dean wonder if they were actual that color or if they were just that dirty. He stood and walked over to his bag, pulling out some clothes. After turning off the lights he made his way to the bathroom and got the shower started. He quickly got undressed and stepped into the tub, the water feeling good against his skin. The shower head supplied perfect water pressure and the water itself was perfectly hot enough for him. As the steam started to fill the bathroom and slip into the main room, Dean just stood there. He held himself up with his hand up against the tile, facing towards the faucet.
His mind was racing with so many things... Purgatory was still fresh in his memory, wondering if Sam was even okay, but the one thing that was really on his mind was the girl he had met that night, Beth. He didn't really get why she was stuck in his head. He figured he had met many beautiful girls but there was something different about Beth, but he couldn't exactly put his finger on it. He decided to start washing up and once he was done he got dressed as quickly as he could then went and packed his bag. Walking out of his room he went to the Impala and dropped his bag in the backseat. Glancing over his shoulder he looked in the direction of her room, his eyes immediately turning sad and lonely. Swallowing, he took the key back to the office then got in his car and took off.
When morning came Beth quickly got cleaned and dressed, she decided she was going to catch Dean before he left. She came out of her room but saw the car was gone, again the feeling of disappointment came over her and she went back inside to get ready to leave. She wasn't even sure what she was going to do or say if he was there anyways.
As Dean drove down the long highway the wind blew through the two door windows. Metallica was playing and he was just thinking like usual... He finally came to the conclusion that maybe he wasn't suppose to find Sam... The reason everyone he ever cared for died. The reason he turned down Beth's offer. It was because he wasn't meant to be happy. He was just here to do what needed to be done... To kill the evil sons of bitches that go bump in the night. To save the world occasionally, even if it was his fault for getting it in the position of needing saving.... That's what he was suppose to do and he was suppose to do it..... Alone.

Chapter 3 - Heaven Sent "Painless nights seem heaven sent, then when I open my eyes I wonder where heaven went."
It was another two weeks now and Dean found himself in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dean knew Sam more than anyone and the thought that he couldn't find him scared the shit out of him. He had talked to a few hunters that he and his brother still talked to but apparently they haven't seen or heard anything about Sam. So now he was in Louisiana and where do you go when your down there? New Orleans of course, Bourbon Street to be more specific. After taking a stroll down the famous street, and getting his eyes full he decided to find a bar and have a drink. A few hours and drinks later Dean headed outside of the bar, feeling kind of drunk but not too bad off. Dean was walking to his hotel however he got turned around and ended up on a dark and lonely street. As he walked he looked at the only sign lit on the road. It was some Cajun restaurant and it didn't seem too popular at the moment. As he walked past he heard a woman yell and he quickly looked around then went toward the scream which lead him to the parking lot behind the restaurant. There was a group of young men surrounding a woman who was backed up against her car. The darkness covered their faces from afar but Dean could tell that the men were no more than in their twenties.
"HEY!" Dean shouted as he quickly tackled one of the guys, taking him to the gravel. The other two men quickly looked over at Dean and headed towards him.
"Get out of here!" He managed to holler to the girl as he punched the guy in the face.
The girl took no time in getting in her car and driving off, completely terrified. When the man under Dean opened his eyes Dean's heart froze. The man's eyes were pitch black which only meant one thing. As soon as he saw the eyes he started reciting the exorcism however the other two grabbed him and pulled him off the demon. The tossed him backwards, throwing him a good few feet away and causing him to hit his head hard on the gravel beneath him. Before he had time to react to the impact he was pulled up again and quickly thrown up against the wall of the restaurant.
"Well, well, well.... What do we have here? Dean Winchester?...." One of the men said, walking up to Dean as he was being held there by the other two. Dean was definitely getting tired of everyone knowing him. Without wasting any time Dean started reciting the exorcism chant again, not caring to get into a conversation with these punk ass demons. When the one on his right started reacting he reached into his jacket and pulled out a canteen, quickly opening it and splashing it's contents on the other two demons.
"Holy water!" The other one that was holding him down screamed.
Dean smirked and kept up with the chant, the two who were holding him down being pulled out of their host's bodies. The third one was laid out on the ground, coughing and trying to stay inside his own host. Dean slowly walked over, splashing more water on the demon. He stopped right in front of the demon, his boots in it's face.
"I'll be back for you Winchester!"
Dean rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Good luck with that." The demon looked up at Dean, total hate filling his black eyes. "Wait until word spreads that you're back..." It chuckled a bit which turned into a cough. "You'll be hunted down!"
Dean just continued the chant until smoke started coming out of the body. "Yeah and you go ahead and tell them they all can take their best shot too... Oh and make sure to tell Crowley to enjoy his time as King Of Hell because I'm coming after him next."
Once the demon was completely out of the man he went to each of the bodies to check for a pulse. Unfortunately none of them survived and Dean sighed. He had to quickly get out of there before the police showed up. He took off out of the parking lot and luckily found his hotel room, feeling very sober now sadly. He got into his room and went straight to the bed, collapsing on top of it and passing out.
When he woke up he just stared at the ceiling of his room, not ready to move. His mind went back to the night before and as he was thinking he noticed something... The girl who he saved... She was blonde... Dean couldn't make out a face from far away but when he tackled the guy he got a small glimpse. She had dazzling blue eyes, a soft and beautiful face... It was Beth. He sat up quickly at the realization, his eyes wide. Holy shit... His mind was blown, he couldn't believe that out of everyone in the world it was her. After a moment he frowned and realized thinking on it didn't matter, he didn't have her number and he had turned her idea of them traveling together down... He would probably never see her again. It was probably for the best anyways because that demon was right. Every demon and hound of hell would be out for him, especially with Crowley running the place.
Time came and passed and it was now another month later... Dean gave up on his search for Sam, seeing how it had been about a couple months all together. He now found himself in a bar, drinking all his cares away. It seemed like it was becoming a habit now, going to the bar and getting so drunk he couldn't see straight. Dean never considered himself a drunk but that's exactly where he was heading at this point.
"Hey buddy... We're closing up. Need me to call a cab?"
The older man said who stood behind the bar. Dean's eyes slowly looked up at the man as he shook his head. Standing he grabbed some money out of his wallet and tossing it on the bar, leaving way more than what he owed. Turning around her ignored the man saying there was too much there and left out of the bar, watching his feet as he walked down the street. After a few minutes he looked up and saw he was lost. He was just walking and was watching his feet the whole time that he didn't pay attention to where he went. Dean's care of being lost was just that, lost once he saw a liquor store with a big open sign lit in the window. Dean walked into the small store, going and grabbing a random bottle of whiskey before heading back out and continuing his walk. The most Dean knew was that he was in Louisiana... He forgot what city or town or whatever, but at least he knew what state he was in. The most that he was worried about was being eaten by some alligator or something.
After fifteen minutes Dean's bottle was half gone and he looked around, curious to see what surroundings were around him now. He found himself on a long dirt road, pitch black with nothing but the moon lighting the area. Okay, so maybe it wasn't fifteen minutes... Dean shrugged and took another drink before sitting down on the wide of the road. The sound of crickets, locusts, and the wind blowing the trees was all that he heard. He knew that it was possible that some crazy monster was out in the darkness, stalking him and ready to attack and have himself a full course meal but Dean really didn't care. Maybe it would be the Swamp-man. Dean chuckled a bit to himself at the thought and took another drink before getting back to his feet and deciding to walk a bit more. As he walked her started thinking like usual, mostly about Sam... But Sam lead to Bobby and Bobby lead to his Dad and his Dad lead to thinking about his Mom and by then he already had his eyes watering.
Dean hated being alone... He never was a loner and didn't like to take on things alone... Who did want to go through things alone? It wasn't that Dean was co-dependent... Well he didn't think so, he was just his best self around others. Besides when he was alone it gave himself time to think about a lot of stuff that he rather not think about... For one, being alone. Sometime during his little adventure Dean passed out in the middle of the road.
Sometime later a car was on it's way down the lonesome road. If it wasn't for the glisten of light on the whiskey bottle from the headlights the girl driving wouldn't of even seen Dean. She was tired and had been driving for a while and upon seeing the man passed out in the street she quickly went around him and hit the breaks, causing the car to squeal to a stop. The girl panicked and rushed out of the car, going and checking the man's pulse but gasping after seeing his face. She looked around to see if he had his vehicle anywhere nearby and when she didn't see anything she did he best to drag him to her car. It took a while and was a pain in the ass but she finally got him in the backseat of the car, his body cramped back there because she had a small vehicle. She began driving the way she was going and stopped at the first motel she could find. After renting a room she again dragged him inside and put him on one of the beds. Deciding it wasn't a good idea to sleep with the man in the room she sat at the table and turned on the TV. She only paid half attention to what was on as she kept glancing over at the stranger sleeping only a few feet away.
Dean's eyes slowly opened, the view of a wall making him confused and then the feeling of being sober hit him and he didn't really like it. He rolled over to look behind him, the light from the sun shined through the window and caused him to squint his eyes. He sat up and rubbed his eyes, thinking he must of gotten himself a room sometime last night and forgot however when the door opened and a woman came in from outside Dean realized that he was wrong. The woman didn't notice he was awake yet, putting down a bag containing breakfast on the table. She then turned to look at him and froze, swallowing. Dean kind of mimicked her action, his eyes a bit wide before his rough scratchy morning voice spoke.
"..........Beth?"
She smiled a bit but then furrowed her brow. "Yeah... Um... Are you okay?" Dean nodded quickly, he felt more than okay right now. For whatever reason Dean didn't feel alone and to see a familiar face... It was nice. Dean smiled then looked confused and looked around before looking back at her.
"What happened?..."
Beth raised her eyebrows and moved to sit at the table. "Well I found you passed out in the middle of the road..." She glanced up at him. "You shouldn't drink so much..." Right after saying it she shook her head quickly and rubbed her forehead. "I'm sorry, I just... It's not good for you." She took a small pause then took some food out of the bag. "I got some breakfast if you're hungry."
Dean got up and slowly approached the table. "And you... Took me to your motel room?..." He felt kind of shocked then nodded his head. "Breakfast sounds good..." He sat down, the smell of the meat making him feel a bit sick but that was because of the apparent hang over he was going to have to suffer.
She nodded and passed him some of the food. "Well yeah... I couldn't just leave you out there... Lucky some wild animal didn't get a hold of you or something..."
"You could of left me at the police station or something...." He smiled a bit. "Thanks..."
She just shook her head at the police station comment then nodded a bit as she started to eat. Dean began eating as well and tried not to focus on the feeling of his stomach. After a moment Dean broke the silence.
"So... Any luck with your Dad?"
Beth sighed and shook her head. "I've been all over Louisiana and a bit of Missouri... How about your brother?..."
Dean didn't say anything and kept his eyes looking down, shaking his head a little. Beth looked sympathetic and looked back down at her own food. "Sorry..." Dean shook his head and looked up at her. "No, it's okay." He looked at her a moment and then tried to phrase his next sentence perfectly so he wouldn't freak her out.
"You know... I regret not taking up your offer."
Beth's eyes went wide a bit and she looked up, taken off guard. She quickly wiped the expression off her face. "Well... I mean, it still stands..." The feeling of hope came over her, reminding her of how strange it was when she had these feelings last time they were together.
Dean swallowed his food down. "Really?..." He raised his eyebrows. "You sure?..." Beth nodded and then chuckled a little. "You act like it is a bad idea." Dean's old thoughts of why he did think it was a bad idea came rushing back to him but he shook his head. "No... I don't think it's a bad idea. I just wanted to make sure I didn't scare you off with last night..."
Beth shook her head. "No... It um... I hope you don't mind me asking but do you usually drink that much?"
Dean understood why she asked the question. "No... I don't..." Beth just nodded at his response and continued eating.
"So uh... I need to find my car..."
Beth nodded. "Any idea where it is?"
"Probably back at the bar... Was called Nick's or Mark's Pub... Or something...." He sighed, wishing he didn't get so drunk now... Especially now that he didn't even know where his baby was.
After finishing their food and a couple hours later they managed to track down the bar and luckily his car was in fact there. He had the keys on him still so he got in and drove back to the motel, following Beth who was in her own car. Once they both got back and parked they headed inside and Dean had his duffle bag with him. He told her he was going to take a quick shower and she nodded. Walking into the bathroom he shut the door, not locking it because he wouldn't mind if she tried to join in. Sadly the possibility of that was low but a guy can always wish. He sat his bag on the back of the toilet then started the shower, getting it to the right temperature before stripping. He stepped in the water getting cold for a few seconds and he yet out a little shout.
"Everything in there okay?" He heard Beth ask with a little knock on the door. "Yep everything's fine!" He hollered out. "....But you are free to come in and check." He muttered before starting to wash up.
As he enjoyed the shower he thought about how lucky he was to come across his again... But that's when it hit him. He wasn't lucky. Running into her a couple times, sure it's plausible... But three times? What if this girl wasn't a girl? What if she was like a monster... Dean shook his head. No.. He met a lot of monsters, she for sure wasn't one. Dean rinsed his hair then tilted his head a bit. But maybe she isn't one of the bad guys... She could be Heaven sent.... Not like a douche-bag angel but like... Dean shook his head. What the hell was he thinking?
After his shower he finally came out, feeling all fresh and clean. However Beth wasn't there and he frowned, wondering where she went until the door opened and she came walking in.
"Hey..." She said, a bag in her hand. Taking the bag to the table she continued. "I figured we could watch something so I got a movie from the office that they rent out." She turned around with the movie in one hand and her other hand occupied by pie. "So I grabbed an apple pie from that bakery next door and Godzilla versus Mothra."
Okay.... So maybe she was Heaven sent.... Yeah, Dean was okay with that.

Chapter 4 - Dreaming Of You "Cause I'm dreaming of you tonight. Till tomorrow I'll be holding you tight." - Selena
Dean sat in the darkened motel room, the flashing red neon sign from outside being the only source of light. As he sat there a feeling of loneliness came over him like never before... He was more lonely then he had been in Purgatory, when Sam was in Lucifer's cage... Words cannot describe the loneliness he felt. His dark hazel eyes tried to look around in the dark, to reach out for anyone but no one was there. Just as fast as the loneliness came a feeling of dread washed over him. The feeling was so great and all he wanted to do was curl up and die... And not soon after that he moved up on the bed, laying on his side and bringing his knees to his chest. As he laid like that voices started to fill the darkness though they were not recognizable. The room began to get hotter and sweat began to form on Dean's body; though he still did not move. Time goes by and the voices become more clear and he realizes them. It's Sam and his father's voices... But it's not only them he can hear Bobby and his mother, Ellen and Jo, Castiel and... There is so many voices he can't block them out. He moves his hands to his ears, trying to block them out but all they keep doing is chanting horrible things about him. How he is should be dead, how no one loves him, how no one could love him. Dean's feelings of dread and loneliness are slowly accompanied by a feeling of hurt and guilt making his gut hurt incredibly.
As if it wasn't enough images start to play through Dean's mind. His mother pinned to the ceiling in flames. His father with yellow eyes, pinning him to a wall. His father's last words before selling his soul for him. Sammy dying in his arms. Selling his soul to the crossroads demon. Being torn apart by hell hounds. Chains hooked to his skin and ripping him apart. Being slashed and cut in every way possible then magically becoming whole again. Finding out the apocalypse was his fault. Sam leaving Dean because of Ruby. Lucifer rising. The fight to keep his body. Lucifer going into Sam and beating the crap out of him. Sam throwing himself and Lucifer, Michael, and Adam into the cage. Castiel becoming God. Castiel exploding. Killing Dick Roman and ending up in Purgatory. Fighting monsters for a year. The room began to shake and Dean let out a scream, not being to take anymore.
But then it stopped... The shaking vanished and the voices quieted. The heat cooled and the visions faded. As Dean opened his eyes as they were clenched shut he saw a blonde girl... No, it was Beth... That's right; the girl he met at Barney's... She just smiled at him and Dean suddenly felt better. Instead of dread he felt confidence. Instead of loneliness he felt companionship. Instead of hurt and guilt he felt joy and blamelessness. The corners of his mouth slowly went up as he smiled and looked at her, feeling peace. There was a bright white light radiating off of her and her eyes almost sparkled.
"Wake up sleepy-head." Beth said opening the curtain in their ran down motel room.
She glanced around out the window as Dean groaned before turning around. She smiled a bit upon seeing his bed head and tilted her head slightly, still watching him come to and finding it kind of amusing for some reason. Dean's eyes slowly fluttered opened and her looked over at her before rubbing his eyes. The dream he had the night before now just being stashed into the back of his mind and he slowly sat up.
"Mmmm.... Morning." he yawned out and stretched a bit.
Beth kept her smile and walked over to her bed, thinking to herself she found his morning voice sexy... Well honestly she thought he was just sexy period but whatever. Once she reached her bed she opened up her bag which sat at the bottom of it and pulled out a hairbrush. She sat down next to the bag and began to brush her hair.
"We should really get going." She said, continuing to brush her hair and watching him on the other bed.
Dean furrowed his brow, wondering where in the world he had to be but then it dawned on him' obviously the road. He nodded but didn't answer, sliding his legs off to the side causing his back to face her. He sat there for a moment before standing and going to his bag.
"Let me just jump in the shower real quick and I'll be all ready."
Beth nodded and watched Dean walk off into the bathroom with some clothes and other things. She grinned a little to herself, last night after he got out of the shower he smelled incredible so she had no problem waiting for him to get all cleaned up again. Her mind drifted back to the night before, as they sat together watching the movie she rented and the amazing pie they had eaten. She glanced over to the table to see the empty pie container still there and got up to go toss it in the garbage. Luckily she had returned the movie already so they didn't have to worry about that. Walking back over to her bag she dropped the brush back in it and zipped it up. Her attention went to the bathroom afterwards, the sound of water falling make her mind wander to him under the water and she blushed slightly, looking down at her feet. She quickly got her bag packed out in the car and cleaned it out a bit before Dean emerged from inside the motel. He gave her a toothy grin and has his bag over his shoulder.
"We all set?" He asked, feeling in a rather great mood.
She nodded slightly, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear. "Yeah, let's get out of here."
Beth got into the car and waited for Dean to get into his before starting it up and pulling out of the motel, Dean following behind. They had a lot of drives like this ahead of them, long roads going through the middle of no where. Eventually they ended up in another motel for the night, sharing a room like before. One good thing about them sharing a room was they could talk and that means she would get to know more about this mystery man known as Dean.... Oh, well crap. She never even learned his last name.
"Okay, so this is random but... What's your last name?" She asked, breaking the silence that was filling the room at the time.
Dean was sitting at the table looking out the window. Upon her question Dean's eyes drew away from the scenery outside and over to her. "Winchester.... My name is Dean Winchester... How about your's?"
Winchester... Hm... At least it wasn't a weird one... Well that didn't matter it wasn't like she was marrying him... Or anything... She smiled slightly and turns on the TV, taking a seat at the table as well. "Clark. Bethany Clark"
He raised his eyebrows and kept his gaze locked on her. "Oh, so your name isn't just Beth?" He grinned slightly and blinked a couple times. "Bethany is a beautiful name."
Beth blushed and tried her best to hide it. "T-Thank you..." She couldn't help but let out a little giggle. "You know that is actually the second time you complimented my name."
Dean itched his head trying to remember the other time. "I must really like it then, huh?" He dropped his hand to his lap and kept his smile. "Is that bad?"
"What? No. No it's not bad." She let out a small chuckle before continuing and glancing over at him. "I happen to like your name too, you know."
Dean nodded a bit, his eyebrow raising slightly. "Is that so?"
"Yeah, Dean... I don't know... Has a ring to it..."
He shook his head and chuckled a bit. "Thanks. I'm named after my grandma, Deana." At the mention of his grandmother he couldn't help but have a flashback of her death but quickly pushed it out of his mind.
"Oh really? That's really nice... I don't mean to pry but... Is she?..."
Dean nodded slightly and decided to lie a bit. "Yeah she passed, she got up there in age so... You know."
Beth nodded in understatement. "I'm sorry for your loss."
Dean just looked back out the window, not really wanting to continue the conversation of his grandmother who was killed by the same yellow eyed demon that killed his parents. He watches out the window, the treeline outside bringing him into a trance and he suddenly felt like he was in a motel room with Sam again... Before losing Dad. Sometime when their father had been missing and he picked Sam up from Stanford... He let out a small sigh; he actually missed those days.
"You okay?" Beth asked upon hearing his sigh, breaking Dean from the trance.
"Huh? Oh. Yeah, I'm fine." He gave her a soft smile. "Just day dreaming."
She nodded a bit, thinking maybe the topic of his grandmother was a bad one and to remember not to bring it up again. The two sat quietly for a while until Beth cleared her throat.
"What about another movie? Maybe something is on TV."
Dean looked over at her then gave a quick nod. "Alright, yeah. Sure."
Beth made her way over to the small couch and as she sat down she started surfing the channels. Every once in a while looking at Dean to see if whatever was on was a yay or nay. Eventually she stopped at the start of Poltergeist and Dean nodded his approval. After a moment Dean moved over to join Beth on the couch, his eyes being on the TV screen. Bethany smiled and glanced over at him before getting up.
"I think I have some bags of popcorn in my car. I'll get one." She quickly went outside, appearing back through the door a few minutes later.
Beth walked over to the microwave the motel provided and opened the plastic, taking out the popcorn packet and putting it in the microwave. After pushing start she turned around to catch parts of the movie, her eyes drifting over to Dean until she has to turn around and grab the bag. She quickly grabs the bag and makes haste to the couch, not feeling the heat until she goes to sit down.
"Ah!" She let out a small shout and the bag flew on Dean's lap.
As soon as the bag hits Dean's lap he hisses and quickly pushes it off onto the couch, looking up at her with wide eyes.
Beth's eyes are also wide then she blushes slightly and bites her bottom lip.
"Um... I'm sorry?"
Dean's face goes back to normal and he lets out a small sigh before nodding. "It's okay. Was pretty hot."
Beth nodded a little then sat back down, waiting a moment before moving the bag onto the table and watching the movie. Her finger was now burning but she just tried to ignore it and watch the movie. Sometime during the move both of them had fallen asleep and Dean found himself... Somewhere rather strange.
He looked around what seemed to be a world of cereal and blinked, totally confused. "What the hell?...." He muttered to himself and began walking.
The path he was on was made out of Frosted Mini Wheats, the grass surrounding it actually being made out of Fruity Pebbles with strange sticks poking out with the marshmallow green leprechaun hat from the Lucky Charms cereal on top. If Dean didn't know any better he totally fell into a place like Candy Land; only with cereal instead. As he continued down the path he noticed a huge brown castle off in the distance, on top of a huge hill. It took him a moment but he finally noticed where he had seen it before. It was the castle on the Count Chocula cereal box that came out around Halloween. He shook his head, wondering how the hell he got here but shrugged it off and looked over to the right. His eyes were drawn to the big palm trees which came out of the Fruity Pebble ground, each of them growing Fruit Loops instead of coconuts.
"Could this place get more fruity?" He muttered to himself when suddenly something sharped poked him in the back.
"Ah! What the hell?!" He yelled, turning around.
Greeting him were three short men who Dean recognized to be the Rice Krispie brothers; Snap Crackle and Pop. His eyes were wide at first, then he looked over and noticed the spear he was poked with. The pole of the spear was actually made out of the cereal straws Dean had seen in the store before, it was red so Dean wasn't sure what brand it could be. The actual sharp part wasn't really sharp and was made out of Rice Krispies. He blinked and looked back at the little men before raising his eyebrows.
"Okay, what's up with poking me?"
Suddenly two of them began to beat box and the other broke out in a rap. Deciding he had enough of that Dean quickly made haste and ran, causing the brothers to chase him. As Dean ran he got off of the trail, falling down a hill of Fruity Pebbles and landing on top of a cookie. Upon looking around he saw many cookies and a dog further into the patch; most likely being the mascot from the Cookie Crisp cereal. Dean quickly got up and made it away from the cookies and found himself in a strange jungle, vines growing down and covered in some kind round colorful cereal. Dean slowly walked up and let his curiosity take a hold of him. He plucked one right off and goes to put it in his mouth when a huge white, paw like hand grabs his wrist.
"Silly man! Trix are for kids!"
Dean quickly looked over and saw a huge rabbit staring down at him and his eyes went wide. "Holy shit!" He stumbled back, and fell to the ground. Upon going to get up he was tackled by the three midgets and they turned him over onto his stomach, tying his hands together.
"Alright! We're taking you to the queen!"
Dean sighed and just shook his head and was brought to his feet. They took Dean back down the Frosted Wheats trail and eventually ended up at a ship which sat in a river of milk. They got aboard and had Dean sit, a man popping out with a huge blue captain hat grinned and threw his hands up.
"Ahoy mateys! Welcome aboard! I'm Captain Crunch!"
The three explained where they needed to go and the man looked terrified before getting behind the wheel and taking them to their destination. As they went along the milk made river Dean noticed they were coming up to the mountain with the castle. The mountain had a hole in it which was made for a water entrance... Or milk entrance in this situation. The Captain hurried and dropped them off before taking off in his ship. The three took Dean up into a secret passage and was brought into a huge hallway which they continued down until they reached a huge dark brown door. Two of the little men opened the door and the other pushed Dean along as they went inside.
"Your majesty.... We bring you a man."
The woman looked down at them and at Dean as she tilted her head. Dean's eyes went wide and he said in disbelief. "Beth?!"
Beth furrowed her brow, unsure how he knew of her and shook her head. "What is his crime?" She simply asked.
"For trying to eat Trix, your majesty."
Her eyes went wide and she stood quickly, yelling with anger. "Blasphemy! Throw him to the TIGER. Tony."
Dean jumped slightly and his eyes went big. "What?! No! Beth? What the hell!? You can't feed me to a damn tiger for trying to eat cereal!"
One of the men pulled Dean down, his eyes filled with insanity. "The. Trix. Is. Sacred!" The man yelled then backhanded Dean.
Suddenly Dean woke up looking around and seeing the TV was now all static. He swallowed then noticed he had his arm around Beth and she was still sleeping, laying on him with her head on his chest. He smiles slightly and moves his hand to the back of her head but suddenly her eyes open and he moves his hand to the back of the couch.
"We fell asleep...." He says simply, looking down at her.
"I'm... I'm sorry." Beth said, swallowing and going to get up.
Dean quickly shook his head. "It's okay... If you're comfortable.. You can stay like this... Doesn't bother me. Really." He offered her a kind smile and looked into her eyes.
"Really?" Beth asked, raising her eyebrows slightly then nodding. "Um... Okay..." She couldn't pass down this offer, no way.
Dean furrowed his brow and took her hand, looking at her red colored finger. "How's your finger?" He asked her, looking from her finger to her eyes.
She smiled slightly. "It's okay... Burns a little."
The two stared into each other's eyes for a moment before pulling her finger to his mouth and kissing it all better. The kiss made Beth's eyes grow large and she swallowed thickly, unsure of how to react yet.
Dean smirked slightly and slowly put her hand down. "I've been told I have magical healing kisses."
Beth raised her eyebrows, going to say something when Dean suddenly leaned in and put his lips to hers. She let out a small gasp but soon started to kiss him back, caught in the moment. Dean brought the hand he had put on the back of the couch to the back of her neck and his other hand to her cheek, gently caressing her cheek with his thumb and continuing the kiss. Suddenly a pound at a door makes them both jump and look over to it. An angry Mexican man can be heard from outside.
"Hey! Come on you are two hours past your stay!"
The two quickly pack and leave, getting in their cars and driving off into the beautiful sunny day, laughing as they do.
