Other Family: "Uncle" Sherlock Holmes
Important Others: Timothy and Harlem Ellington, James Moriarty
History: Rosemary Marie Watson was born in London, England on October 31st, 1898 to John and Mary Watson. She was raised by two loving parents and a third member of their family. Her godmother, Sherlock Holmes. Whom she referred to as uncle. Rosemary grew up watching her family investigate strange cases and fight the bad guys. As she was getting a bit older, she gravitated towards Sherlock. She idolized Sherlock and felt herself wanting to be like her when she grew up. And with all honesty, Sherlock was her best friend. Rose naturally wanted to be involved in all of the cases that her “uncle” was investigating and she promised to her parents and their group that she had the ability to help. Even at such a young age, she knew what she wanted to do with her life. She spent so much of her time with Sherlock and she constantly begged to be given a case because her parents would always tell her no. When she finally got her to cave and give her “cases”, she was obsessed and tried to figure them out to the best of her ability. The feeling she got when she was looking for clues gave her such a rush and left her addicted to the feeling of it. Rose loved telling her parents that she helped find clues in an investigation, not knowing that Sherlock was just smiling the entire time because they were just small cases. If there was a time that she wasn’t with John, Mary, or Sherlock, she was spending time with James Moriarty. James was another member of their little group so she felt like he was apart of the family as well. She trusted him and wanted to try and play the game with him as well, though he would tell her she was too young and it was dangerous for her to be on investigations at her age. With Rosemary having the strong will that she has, she never listened to James because Sherlock taught her that she was intelligent and could help.
As Rosemary got a bit older, she got more involved with cases. She hounded her family until they finally started letting her come along for some of their smaller ones. They enjoyed letting her have her fun until the time came when things in their cases got much worse, involving a demon by the name of Jack. Rosemary watched as the group was spinning their wheels trying to find everything they could to stop the Crossroads Demon before he could dig his way even deeper into the political circle, as he was. As some time went on, she felt the group growing a bit cold, not having any idea what was going on behind the smiles. James wasn’t nearly as happy and neither was Sherlock. Just like with any child, she felt she had done something wrong and wanted to try and fix it. When she felt she finally had a good plan to help, she followed John, Sherlock, and Mary to capture Jack. Rose was hidden very well, watching the capturing spell being performed. Until.. Sherlock was lying on the ground, not moving, and John was being beat to his last leg. At this point, Rose was petrified at the sight her best friend not moving and her father a beaten mess. She came out from where she was hiding when she knew it was safe and she went to Sherlock, shaking her to try and wake her up. This was one of the worst days of her life, and all she could do was look at John and Mary and beg them to help her. Mary took Rose away from it because she knew that her young daughter couldn’t handle seeing the mess and didn’t need to be around it.
The images of the worst day of her life never left her mind and it gave her the mental drive to learn all she could about investigating. When Sherlock was brought back from a deal made by James with the Crossroads Demon, Rosemary was overwhelmed, but still wanted to help her family get rid of the demon. But, Jack was finally chased out of London and the family felt like they could relax. She spent a lot of her time picking up on magic from Mary and reading just about every book she could find on it. Rose was infatuated with it, but her love for investigating was stronger than ever. She began helping John and Sherlock on more cases as she got older and she felt important. They made her feel that way, of course. Though she had so many questions about what happened to a member of their group and no one wanted to give her the answers she was looking for. Though over time she let it go, assuming there was an argument and James left of his own will. At this time in her life, Rosemary Watson had no fear and was a very clever girl. She observed the group’s style of investigation closely and added her own style to it when she was given tasks in a case. She had no care in the world and no desire to connect with anyone her age or outside of her family.
Though she was at a peak in her life, all good things must come to an end. After a decade’s pass, James Moriarty returned with a great wrath and rage. He returned from hell, a new face, as a demon. Moriarty wreaked havoc all over London. Rose watches as the group had their battles with him, winning some and losing some. But the only thing she could do was try to help the best she could. She would research and look for clues that would help them defeat Moriarty. When Mary finally hatched an idea of a trap for him, Rosemary was intrigued. A magical prison within a book. She tried help her mother find everything she needed for the spell and she was absolutely proud of herself for how hard she was working. Yet, they weren’t quick enough at coming up with the spell to trap Moriarty. He appeared in their home one night in his demon form and they had to think fast. When Sherlock volunteered to use the book, Rosemary heavily protested and insisted there would be another way. But there was no time to find another way. She watched as Sherlock, her one and only friend, was possessed by the demon of a man that she used to see as family. All Rose could do was sit back and watch as Sherlock opened the book, vanishing in the blink of an eye. She looked to John, begging him for reassurance that their lives would return to normal and that he would bring back the fourth member of their family. Sadly, all she could get from John was that he was going to try his damndest. And she held onto that hope.
Rosemary searched high and low for any clue that would help them defeat Moriarty for good since exorcising him never seemed to work. She took every chance she was given at learning about demons and combat from her father. Her parents wanted to ensure that she was going to be able to defend herself if the issue ever arises in the case of which she would need to. Rose felt like her family was getting close to a solution for getting Sherlock back, yet they never got close enough. One of Moriarty’s men took the book before they could have the chance to save her “uncle”. For years, Rosemary was driven on finding that book. She researched everything she could to make herself strogen, with the help of John and Mary. To keep herself refreshed with investigating, she would do a case here and there with John until she started going off on her own to work on some. At one point, she was so obsessed with a case of young women drained of their blood, that she ran head first into a small nest of vampires. She plowed through each bloodsucker without so much of the bat of an eye. Rose found a rage in herself that she pushed in her cases. She found it hard to communicate with people outside of her family and only on rare occasions would she let people in.
Years of training, investigations, and dead end leads, she came across two brothers by the names of Timothy and Harlem Ellington. Rosemary had been working long and hard on a lead to a minor demon in London, hoping it would lead her to Moriarty’s men. She followed a trail of bodies to an old warehouse where she ran into two young men fighting a black eyes demon. Seeing the men clearly in trouble, she starting shouting an exorcism. Knowing she wouldn’t have a chance to question the demon, she did it anyway because she was about to have two lives on her hands. Timothy and Harlem explained that their family was murdered by the demon and they had been hunting it for quite some time. She gave them her word that the demon was gone before heading on her way. During her investigations, she ran into the brothers a few times, slowly forming a friendship between them. They would work together on cases they found each other on and they would always give her a call when they came across any demons.
Though Rosemary has been searching for many years with her parents, they have had no luck. She has become a very strong woman, intelligent and clever. She has the will to continue looking for the book so she can free Sherlock and destroy Moriarty for good. Her rage has built up, driving her to take every path she can in trying to find the greatest evil she has ever known.
