Personality: Sarah is a kind and generous person but she's not one to let people walk all over her. She has a good heart and what she feels are strong morals but she's not without her flaws and vices. Sarah might try to use her own personal experience to guide other people but she tries to do so from a place of understanding without coming across as preachy. She is tough, confident, and independent, but she does enjoy the company of other people and isn't afraid to be vulnerable or ask for help if she needs to. She tries to use her status as an officer of the law to be a good influence, particularly to minors.
Sarah believes in the existence of heaven and hell... of angels and demons... but she is ignorant as of yet of the rest of the supernatural world. She knows that she is only still alive because of the deal a friend made for her... a friend who is now in hell, and although she had tried to find a way to keep that deal from going through, in the end she was unsuccessful, and the guilt weighs on her heavily at times, usually through horrible nightmares.

History: There's nothing really noteworthy to tell about Sarah's childhood. She came from a close-knit middle class family, did well in school, and plenty of friends. She never was really an overachiever but she was comfortable and content and never wanted for much. Growing up, her family was pretty close and her cousins were some of her closest friends until high school.
After graduation, she and a few of her closest friends decided to take a weekend road trip together before they were all to split up for college. It was after a night of lots of karaoke, laughter, and heavy drinking, that the group was involved in an accident when her friend Noah, who was behind the wheel, ran the car into a telephone pole. Luckily, all of Sarah's friends were able to either miraculously walk away from the accident with minor injuries or were easily treated at the hospital. Sarah wasn't so lucky. She ended up in a coma on life support.
To this day, she still doesn't know all of the details leading up to Noah making a deal for her life. For several months, doctors tried everything they could to revive her, but eventually it was determined that she would never be able to sustain life without the support of the machines she was hooked up to. As difficult as it was, her parents signed papers to have her taken off of life support in a few day's time, giving Sarah's family and friends an opportunity to come visit and say goodbye. Apparently, this sudden deadline is what drove her friend Noah to action. As he stood at the crossroads sealing his deal, his life for his friend's, Sarah's eyes opened... just hours before she was, pretty much, scheduled to die.
Of course, her recovery seemed to be nothing short of a miracle and people all around her were praising God for it, but Sarah was just confused. Eventually, after some digging and nagging, Noah told her the truth about what he had done. He had given up his soul so that she could live. Sarah was furious but also heart-broken. She decided to do the best she could with the situation. She became a police officer and an advocate against drunk driving, and in the meantime, she did her best to research and explore a way to somehow break her friend out of his pact, from obscure Bible passages to books and leaders of all sorts of faiths and religions.
In the end, she was unsuccessful, and it was just a couple of months ago that she watched invisible creatures tear her friend apart and drag him to hell. Those images and the guilt over his sacrifice for her haunts her heavily.

Beth glanced over at the passenger seat as she pulled into the gas station. They had been driving for nearly six hours and Dean had been asleep for about two of them. It had been two days since she first met him back in Michigan and honestly, she was amazed that he had stuck around. Grateful... but amazed. Dean had so far proven to be quite interesting company... not to mention eye candy for the road that didn't give her a stomach ache or cavities.
The gas station was so empty that Beth almost wasn't sure if the pumps even worked anymore. There was a lone dusty green pickup truck parked in the very back corner of the gravel parking lot that ran alongside the small convenience store. The filling area looked to be the only section that was paved, and it was old, cracked pavement at that. She considered waking Dean in case he needed to use the restroom but she decided against it. Even if he did need to make a pit stop, she doubted he'd want to do it in a smelly, cockroach-infested gas station bathroom.
Beth pulled up to the pump and shut off the engine, looking over at him once more. Two nights ago she had kissed him and run out before giving him a chance to reject her. They hadn't talked about the kiss since then and he hadn't given any sign of clue that it even phased him. If Dean was at all intrigued or repulsed by that one little display of affection, he was very good at not letting it show.
She got out of her car and closed the car door, walking around to look at the pump and frowning when she realized there was no credit card reader. With a sigh she hoisted her bag onto her shoulder and went inside to prepay. There was a fairly young guy slouching at the counter and looking far too tired or too stoned to work there... it was hard to tell which. Beth decided to wander around the store to gather up a few snacks for the road. She needed to stretch her legs anyway.
