Likes (At Least 3):
❤Nightwish - He adores this band.
❤Pagan/Scandinavian music - Something about the primal beats/vocals in a lot of this kind of music really appeals to him.
❤Hiking - He loves being out in the wild, hiking about and exploring forests and deserts. He also uses this to scout areas to hide out during the fullmoon.
❤Spelunking - There's all sorts of wierd things to be found in caves, and he loves exploring all their nooks and crannies.
❤Scuba diving - He loves swimming and exploring underwater worlds.
❤Action/Horror movies - No movie is bad to him in these categories.
Dislikes (At Least 3):
✗Ticks - He finds them repulsive, and always has to do a thorough check over when he emerges from forests to make sure he hasn't picked any up. Even if this fear is made irrational if his healing ability keeps them out, he still has to check to reassure himself.
✗Thunder - The really loud overhead thunder is what freaks him out the most.
✗Smog - It's gross.
✗ The pain that comes with his transformation on the fullmoon.
✗Common werewolves - He's more somewhat annoyed by them, like how small dogs can annoy big dogs at times.
Fears (At Least 2):
☬Being found by the hunters who are after him, and being subsequently killed.
☬Losing himself to his instincts, and killing humans again and not being able to come back from it.
Goals (At Least 1):
★To make things right with Grant.
★ To find a place where he can truly settle down and be free from his fear.
Personality:
Rigel tends to be a loner, preferring to keep his own company over that of the others. When he's by himself, he is a rather adventurous fellow with a thirst for exploration. He is quite active, and begins to get restless when he has to remain in one place for too long. Rigel is inquisitive and has little fear when it comes to exploring his environment, wherever he finds himself. He is a hardy individual, and can be stubborn enough to work through situations to finish them to his own level of satisfaction.
However, his personality changes when he is around other people and in the city. There, he tends to shut down to a degree and become distant and a little cold. He may also come across as introverted or shy. This change in his personality around people comes from the fear he has of accidentally harming others due to being a fenrir. Rigel feels that by keeping himself closed off and disconnected from people, he can keep them safe. Because of this wall he puts up, he has had very few friends and as such doesn't exactly know how to socialise properly. He is observant enough to get an idea of ways to speak to individuals to maybe garner some bonds, but he may always come off as a little odd. For any rare individuals who get to see him as he truly is, the change can be shocking.
Rigel is perpetually suffering from an underlying anxiety and fear related to his fenrir side. This fear, due to past trauma, is what makes him scared to get close to anyone and is why he puts up walls. If he finds himself getting too close to someone, he will often run away from them with the idea of sparing them the trouble that follows him. Rigel also has a habit of packing up and leaving town without a word to anyone, and he is oblivious to the effect this has had on some people in his life. However, if he is made aware of how he has hurt someone, the guilt he feels for that will weigh heavily on his mind for a very long time.

History:
Rigel was an unexpected child; his mom finding out she was pregnant with him before she and John had yet to even get engaged. This brought about a somewhat reluctant marriage, but gradually the two found a rhythm and a deeper love as they welcomed the boy into their lives. His childhood wasn't terribly exciting, beyond gaining a baby sister when he was 12. He was always a bit of an outcast, and grew up on the fringes of the social life in school. When he was 13 he was diagnosed with petit mal epilepsy, and began treatment to manage it. The condition would persist until he was 25, when it seemed to have been eradicated...for the time being. He spent his teenage years delving into all manner of outdoor activities. His father took him hiking every summer, teaching him how to survive off the land and navigate through the land. Rigel would go on to cherish these lessons in his later years.
Once he turned 18, he moved out on his own to start his life. He opted out of going to school, deciding to spend a year travelling the country first. Shortly after his 19th birthday, he was camping in Montana when his campsite was suddenly beset upon by an enormous wolf like creature. The light from the fullmoon illuminated black fur, yellow eyes, and huge fangs. Rigel felt true fear for the first time in his life as the massive creature turned to face him, snarling. There almost seemed to be an intelligence behind its eyes as it sized him up, before lunging forward. The fight was brief, and much of it Rigel didn't remember after. He only recalled feeling teeth sink into his shoulder, and blood from the beast mixing with his own as he managed to sink a knife in its throat. It pulled back and bounded away, leaving him in terrified shock. The pain that he endured that night made him think he was going to die. And in fact, he came very close to it. But once it had subsided and he began to regain his senses, he could only wonder if the beast had just been a dream induced by a fever he hadn't realized he'd had.
His first change came during the next fullmoon; the pain of the transformation was almost blinding, and then he lost himself to his powerful new body. He came to the next morning covered in gore, naked in the woods. The half eaten carcass of a deer lay nearby, and as he put two and two together, all he could think was that he was a werewolf. It mortified him, and he stumbled about until he found his tent. From that moment on, he began to live life on the run. It was a few months later when he found evidence of an even more horrifying scene; he had slaughtered a group of humans. So distraught, he vowed to keep himself deep within forested areas no human could be in whenever the moon rose. After that, he strived to gain control over his fenrir form, determined to not harm humans again. He still thought he was just a simple werewolf, until he had a chance meeting with another fenrir. In his inexperience and still wildly out of control instincts, he attacked the other one...And lost rather spectacularly. The fenrir took pity on him, and the next day introduced himself as Rodney. The next year was spent in the company of each other as Rodney taught Rigel how to deal with his new life.
Life seemed to be getting back on track for him, and Rigel was enjoying having a friend. Rodney was a little eccentric, but he had a good heart. What worried him the most was hearing that Rigel had killed humans, and he spent the year showing Rigel how to also evade the hunters sure to be after them. But for all his tricks, they soon encountered an even trickier hunter who managed to corner the two. Despite it not being a fullmoon, Rodney was able to transform into his fenrir form from years spent practicing. He held the hunter and his band off while Rigel made his escape. Rodney would not survive that fight. Distraught, but far more wiser, Rigel began to live life again on his own. He spent more and more time on the fringes of society, never staying in one spot for too long before moving to a new area. He picked up odd jobs here and there, staying long enough to build up some funds for supplies he couldn't forage from the wilds, before quitting and moving on. This way of life continued for him for several years, until one fateful day he encountered another bump in the road.
When he was 24, he worked a stint as a barista at a small coffee shop by a college. And for whatever reason, a young man his age who was a student caught his attention. He has never been very clear on his sexual orientation, but as he grew to know Grant from his daily visits for coffee, Rigel began to feel a stirring that he wasn't quite able to identify. Deciding to risk it, just to try, he finally got up the nerve to ask Grant out for a drink. From there, things seemed to be going in a positive direction. The fact that he knew latin helped in attracting Grant. For three and a half months they had been dating, and one day they found themselves starting to get a little intimate. During this, Rigel briefly grew lost to his senses and gave Grant a nip. It just barely broke the skin, but was enough to shock Rigel back. Spooked, he quickly left. Deciding he didn't want to risk hurting Grant with his true nature, he broke up with him via a text then ditched town. He thought Grant was safe, but didn't realize that even a bite in human form was enough to curse someone.
He changed his cell number and erased all means of communication to keep Grant from ever finding him. He had to put distance between them to keep Grant safe from what he was, and what was on his tail. Rigel never knew that he had left Grant with a broken heart and a curse. From that romantic encounter, Rigel vowed to never again allow himself to be that close to anyone again; it was too risky. Several years later, he found himself in a strange town he couldn't leave, and facing the realization and heavy guilt of what he had done to ruin Grant's life.

Claw tapping the worn table, Eindriđi's blue gaze swept over the faded spidery writing of an ancient philosopher. Carefully turning the delicate yellowed page of the old book, the harpy shuffled his wings and again settled back into his zone. Fascinated by the long past human's view on various herbs and possible medical uses, Eindriđi almost didn't hear the soft chime of the store front door opening. His head only snapped over to the curtain that separated the store from the privacy of his back room when the visitor called out for his attention.
"Nother delivery for you, sir!" piped up a cheerful young male.
Hopping to the floor, Eindriđi quickly focused and shifted to a human appearance. As he stood straight, his blue eyes darkened to almost black, and he smoothed his now black hair back. A smile lit his face as he brushed the curtain aside and stepped into his customary place behind the old wooden counter. The courier thumped a heavy box on the desk, wiping his brow.
"That's a really heavy one. What kind of books did you get in today?" he asked, as he pulled out his electronic scanner and began to record the package as delivered.
"Colin, I have so many books I'm always waiting for, that it's a surprise every time." Eindriđi laughed, signing the delivery notice. Too excited about his books, he didn't notice that Colin had blushed at the soft, pleasant lilting sound that was the harpy's laugh. "Do you care to see?"
"Wh..what?" Colin blinked, pulling out from the soft daze he had found himself in. "Oh! Uh, no. I'd love to, but." The young man shrugged and gestured to the parked van outside. "I have so many deliveries to make."
"Ah. Next time then." Eindriđi chuckled softly, smiling. "Thank you, again."
"No problem sir! I'll probably be back by the end of the week!" Colin gave him a small salute, before turning and hurrying out. Hands resting on the box, the harpy watched him leave. He enjoyed Colin's presence. He was such a bright and eager young man. And one of few these days who seemed to still appreciate the paper form of books. Returning his gaze to his box, Eindriđi carefully shifted just one finger, the nail sprouting into its lethal claw. Using it to slice open the tape, he shifted it back after its task was complete. The smell of musty old paper hit him the moment the cardboard flaps opened. Ahh, these ones were so very old. Carefully pulling on a pair of cotton gloves, the harpy pulled out the carefully packaged pair of tomes. He brought them to the back to finish their unpacking, a soft happy trill fluttering out of his throat in excitement. He couldn't wait to read these rare finds.
