Full Name: Apollo
Nickname/Alias: Phoebus | The archer | Apollon | Smintheus | Parnopius | Delphinios | Lord of the Silver Bow, Brother of Artemis, Slayer of Python
God of music, poetry, plague, truth and prophecy, oracles, light and the sun, medicine and healing, plague, colonization, archery (but not for war or hunting), dance, intellectual inquiry, knowledge and the carer of herds and flocks. Paul Smith.
Age/Date Of Birth: Ageless
Race: Greek God
Occupation: God of Prophecy.
Species Group: Gods
Play-By: Hrithik Roshan
Abilities
- Healing: Apollo can heal much like any angel can. He can’t reconstruct missing limbs and he can’t bring back someone dead or to be more accurate he wouldn’t. He thinks death is not something that should be messed with. His healing is more effective in people that have asked for his help. His healing is the most effective in diseases than in wounds also it can be speeded out during daytime conjoined with his last ability. Apollo has the same supernatural resilience to being wounded and heal fast that other pagan deities have.
- Telekinesis: Self explanatory he can move things around. He barely uses it.
- Immortality: Other than being thoroughly killed he will continue living not aging or suffering from diseases.
- Teleportation: Apollo can teleport from place to place. He only teleports to Olympus though in theory can go anywhere anytime. He automatically appears wherever he is being summoned though, only if a mortal has performed the necessary rituals. He can also teleports small objects.
- Precognition: He knows your future. Ok to expand on this, he can see or sense the future of an individual, a city, a culture or a country. Sometimes he sees the future crystal clear and knows exactly what is going to happen, but most of the time he doesn’t. This is why he can’t prevent his loved ones dying and stuff. He sees better the future of other people than his own, which he finds almost next to impossible to figure out. Apollo figures that this happens because he can construct his own future therefore if he knew what is going to happen he would change it making it next to impossible to have a set in stone future to see.
He can transfer the gift to other people and he can sense when a mortal has the ability on their own. With his aid most mortals can enhance their own visions of the future. - Clairsentience.
- Invulnerability: Apollo can withstand the effect of most hostile environments. He does not require food or sleep. Doesn’t age and never gets sick like mortals do. However, the same way that other pagan deities have died, he could be killed.
- Enhanced senses: He can sense other supernatural beings, being at least aware of angels, demons, reapers, creatures, and other pagan gods. He also has an exceptional snooping hearing and the eyesight of an eagle.
- Superhuman Speed: Totally unnecessary, but he can move faster. He is however slower than Hermes, Heracles and Ares.
- Superhuman strength: Those muscles aren’t for show
. Also being a pagan god helps too.
- The pestilence touch >D: Apollo can make someone sick just by touching them. Think it this way, all the sickness he takes away from people stays stored and he can release them anywhere in anyone. His favorite method of delivery is arrows.
- The ability to command rats and locust: So basically, he can wave his hand and order a bunch of rats to go away or go live in your room.
- Energy Manipulation: Apollo can manipulate great amounts of solar energy for numerous purposes. He is capable of generating great heat and light equal to a small sun. He can change his shape at will. He can use his powers to rapidly heal the injuries of other living beings. Apollo can also direct this energy into granting superhuman powers to living beings and to teleport himself across dimensions.
There is only one setback to his last ability and it is that it used to work very well when he had followers. Now it works at half capacity and using it in his full blown power drains him so much that he is pretty much a regular mortal for a week. That’s a week of pretty much being a sitting duck for anything and everything out there.
The most he does is creating small energy butterflies and dragon flies, and small flying dots of lights for showing off.

Fears:
☬ Getting married
☬ Zeus’ actual wrath.
☬ Mortality
☬ That anything bad may happen to his family.
☬ Failing in protecting his sister’s honor!
☬ Tagging along in one of Hermes misguided adventures.
Goals:
★ To ride this magnificent new wave called neo-paganism.
★ Them ladies.
★ Get Hermes to behave.
★ Keep his sister a virgin!!
★ Find a male lover that won't horribly die on him.
★ Seeing some more ingenious humans inventions.
Personality: Apollo is very protective of the people he cares about. He’ll protect them fiercely and will intercede in their behalf whenever is possible for him to do so. Friends, family they are very important for him. In the same vein, if harm comes to them or someone offends them he is quick to take rather drastic actions about it. Apollo is very protective of his sister’s chastity and his mother’s good name. Anyone soiling either one would be in for a treat: of bloody revenge.
He is very hot-blooded and can be prone to emotional out bursts; he is also easily swayed by the charm of females (or males or anything attractive, actually XD). Apollo can be quite brutal when angered but, just as he is effortlessly infuriated, he can be appeased with gestures of good will, one would win his heart and loyalty forever. He is one to remember those who have wronged him and those who have bestowed their kindness in him. He is going to go to great lengths to help his friends when he can. He’ll protect his family at all costs.
Apollo finds impossible to settle his sights on a single woman/man and those who know him well realize he is never going to be tied down by the bounds of marriage. He is a free spirit and likes to remain as such, but he does bless with gifts and favors the women that had loved him. He can equally be ruthless towards those that reject him. Making some of them go to the extent of trying to escape his wrath. He really doesn’t like people cheating on him. He however, may let a lover go if they talk to him, especially after they had done the nasty many times.
Apollo can be very unreasonable when he feel the people in his life in being threatened (whether the treat is merely imaginary or not). It is usually very hard to get him to change his mind about taking action. More often than not, heads will roll -either figuratively or actually-. He is unrelenting and unforgiving in his quest for revenge. He holds a great deal of respect for smart people and those who seek knowledge. He admires people of science and reason; and he particularly likes doctors.
Apollo had some involvement siding with Troy during the war. He had multiple reasons the other guys were basically pretentious jerks (that really very early in the war insulted him in many ways), he had been well revered in the city since its foundation and he had a son living in there that he very much would have rather had survived the war. This part of his history is very touchy and painful for him he never speaks about it and hates any classical literature dealing with the subject.
He has a zero tolerance for whatever he deems unfair and is quick to punish those he feels have done wrong onto others. He has a flair for using plague and disease as a form of punishment (he is no pestilence but, they aren’t stranger to each other). He will never doubt in meddling with the mortals and taking sides in a war. He has a personal sense of justice and likes to take mortal matters in his own hands. When he finds that a mortal somehow shines for their fairness he can come to respect them or even aid them even if they don’t pray to him or something.

Parents: Zeus and Leto.
Siblings: Artemis: Twin sister. And a whole army of half-brothers/sisters.
Other Family: Yes. A bunch of bastard children!
Important Others: The Pythia. The muses. The people who prays to him.
History:
Apollo was born in island near the sea. His mother Leto had been hiding away from the wrath of Hera. The reason for Hera’s anger was that her husband Zeus had cheated on her again. The reason why she was a threat to Leto was that the product of her belly was the product of such betrayal. And Hera could not stand her husband’s bastards. Apollo was not born alone: his sister, Artemis, had been born first. Apollo as a son of Zeus inherited a considerable strength and his sister and him were both quite skilled in the usage of bows.
There was a place in Greece were a large monster that transformed resembled a sort of dragon snake lived. There were many rumors about this creature, it was dangerous, it polluted the waters, it was kidnapping and killing people, ruled and oppressed the humans. What really did it for Apollo was hearing up that his mother at the time residing there had been targeted; this was quite unacceptable for him. Apollo made up his mind to go and vanquish this monster. The only kink in his plan was that he was neither a warrior nor a hunter like his sister.
Apollo could handle himself very well using the bow as a sport. But, he truly wondered if he even had the ability to go against a living target. Apollo reached the place where the monster lived seeking a confrontation. Apollo approach was to point his bow and shoot as many arrows as he could. It was a brutish technique but, it worked the monster in the end died.
The thing that Apollo ignored was that The Python served a purpose, while the monster had been indeed mad; it was only after years of having the power to see and transmit the future to others. People in the surrounding area had travelled to know about the gods omens and make important choices in their lives. Now that The Phyton was gone there was a void. Zeus had Apollo take on the duties of the prophecy.
While Apollo at first though he had it easy, pretty soon discovered that the burden of knowing the future was indeed heavier than he had thought. Not long after that, people started to try and consult him. But, of course the future was all jumbled up and with every request the burden grew heavier. Apollo found a solution. If he could pass on the ability to some mortals he would be able to see a specific future or an important vision.
Also by dividing the ability among with other people his head cleared up and he was able to listen to his own thoughts again. Females seemed to be particularly good handling it and this way the first temple in Delphi was born. Apollo would actually learn to enjoy this ability. While Leto was travelling to visit Apollo she was attacked by Tityos; a Phokian giant that tried to rape her. He was acting under the rancorous orders of Hera. Apollo armed with bow and sword; and the aid of his older sister faced him. In the end Zeus intervened also adding some random punishment in the after life.
There was once a ‘stupid’ mortal named Niobe that tried to soil Apollo’s mother reputation by claiming she was better than her because she could have more children. Apollo and Artemis; -being the reasonable not at all psychotic gods they were- decided to settle the matter rather easily. Apollo slayed every male child of the woman and his sister took all of the females. Surely after that the horrible mortal wouldn’t have any reason to presume her god forsaken litter.
Apollo very prideful nature and his tendency to sometimes just forget to entirely watch what he is saying, constantly works against him. He usually teased Aphrodite’s son making fun of his usage of the bow “To create flimsy whimsy feelings”. Eros knew, there was only one way to teach Apollo the proper lesson. He would learn the power of the bow on his own skin. Apollo accepted the callenge very confident because how bad could it be? He had women before. Eros shot an arrow to Apollo that had him infatuated with a nymph named Daphne. He also pointed his bow at Daphne but, shot a lead arrow.
The power of the lead arrow was entirely different from the one that Apollo got. It created the opposite reaction. Apollo did not rest and chased Daphne relentlessly to the point that it was obvious to her that continuing rejecting him would be a rather dangerous choice. Daphne felt cornered and sought the advice of her father. His father devised a plan for her to continue living and for Apollo not to be able to harm her. He used magic to turn her into a laurel tree. When Apollo finally found out her whereabouts he was devastated. He swore to never again underestimate Eros and his powers and he decided that would always love laurel trees (because he is nuts). And this actually why laurel wreath are closely associated with him.
This in no way would mark the end of Apollo’s romantic troubles but, the beginning. Apollo’s well known unforgiving character was not only reserved for those that refused his advances Coronis was a Thessalian princess pregnant with Apollo’s offspring. When Apollo got word about an affair he was quick to ask for her immediate death. However, later he found out that may have not been the case. Apollo had nothing else to do but, to feel sorry. He took on his child, Asclepius, and had him raised by Chiron the centaur. His son shared his gift to heal and also could bring out the dead back.
He began using this latter gift a little too much, bringing complaints from Hades. Also, he may have had or not enraged Zeus himself by profiting from his gift. Apollo son was killed by a thunder. So in retaliation, Apollo killed the Cyclops that had created the thunder for Zeus. This of course didn’t take very well with his father that condemned Apollo to live as a mortal for 9 years (or well until he apologized which he did not for 9 years but, you’ll never hear this version… because Apollo never apologizes).
During that time the stars of his constellation stopped shinning in the sky. After the years had passed Apollo’s powers were restored and he came back to live in Olympus. Both the Cyclops and his son were revived but, only after the later promised not to ever bring people back again. During this time Apollo was forced to serve king Admetus tending to his cattle for 9 years. At some stage during this time Apollo grew fond of the king and later in life would intercede in his behalf extending his lifespan. He took a liking for keeping herds.
Back on the day when Hermes was younger he stole from him. Apollo was, of course, livid. How could this …child? Dare to steal from him. Surely he had to press the matter and get this rowdy youth to learn a lesson. He did have to admit even at his age the young God was a clever one but, not more than Apollo who was older and prided in his intellect. Though, he had the worst impression of Hermes, he would later warm up to him. Hermes obviously cornered, gave Apollo a Kithara (Old Ass Lyre) as compensation of sorts.
Apollo that had not been all too familiar with music decided to learn to play the instrument. He discovered he liked the art of music and also that he enjoyed it quite greatly. He decided to amend his opinion of Hermes; after all, he was just a misguided youth in his formative years. Surely, he could use a good influence on his life, and we all now how well Zeus plays the father role (not that Apollo ever questioned his father’s love only his ability to make responsible choices XD).
Apollo taught herding and caring of animals to the young Hermes, passing on to him the role ha had learned from his time under Admetus, hoping it would fix the troubled boy. After all he did liked animals. Perhaps, learning some responsible caring would fix him. And he in turn, continued mastering the art of music. This way he mastered the lyre like no other had before him, bringing of course; the envy of others (or at least what he saw as jealously). Sadly, even though, Hermes became magnificent in the caring of animals he continued to be well… Hermes.
On the side of Apollo and music he did not lacked challenges. Once, this satyr named Marsyas began to boldly brag saying he was better than Apollo, although that may had been just hearsay. In any case he was gaining popularity! Naturally this didn’t take very well with the Greek god. Something had to be done to shut this moron up. Apollo decided to challenge the satyr to a contest; to decide which of them, was the best and to quell all doubts. The ruling would be simple, the best player would win the loser would shut his cake hole.
The competition was hard until Apollo shrewdly figured a way to be the victor; he could play with his instrument upside down a feat that was impossible to achieve using an aulos (old ass flute). There was no way the satyr could do it, and so he effectively lost to the prophecy god. Being the humble not at all scornful god he was; he decided the humiliation of loss wasn’t enough so he skinned him and hung his skin to a tree. This definitely would teach him the due lesson about braggadocio and gods.
Besides his usual escapades to woo ladies, from Olympus to wherever; and his responsibilities as a god; he also found the time to look at handsome men. One of which was Hyakacintus; a Spartan prince. Unluckily for Apollo he wasn’t the only one ho had the hots for the guy. So one day while Apollo was throwing the discus it was deflected (possibly, either that or he is an awful shot in front of his lovers) and hit the guy in the head killing him. This of course would not be the first time a male lover of his ended dead XD.
Actually, in a second occasion Apollo [for whatever reason], gave one of his lovers a pet deer. The pet ended being killed accidentally and Ciparissos (<-Apollo’s boytoy) could not forgive himself and desired to die. Apollo, obviously not wanting him to die, decided to turn him in into a cypress. Not the best solution but, at least it was one that did not involve gory horrid death… although he did die in a way. Other of Apollo’s rather unlucky lovers are: Atymnius (died in the Trojan war), Carnus (killed while adventuring with the Herc), and Leucates (committed suicide).
Apollo even managed to have a run in with Herakles (or Hercules, whatever). They ended wrestling or something for the Delphic tripod because they were both an unreasonable hardheaded God and a distressed kind of muscle-man-problem-solver Demi-god respectively. The match ended with Zeus whooping both of their asses and forcing both of them to desist. Apollo’s involvement in the Trojan War was complicated. For starters, Apollo was more or less emotionally bounded to Troy since he saw the city bloom over from year to year since its foundation.
His story has it all: him picking sides, a bastard son, a romance, betrayal and bittersweet vengeance. Some feud started because of a girl or something, Apollo was not really concerned with this as his main problem with these people was the blatant lack of respect of these people. At first, he was mostly troubled with some priest and priestess of his being disrespected by Agamemnon. He also courted Cassandra, a Trojan princess, a matter that ended badly, as he apparently never closed the deal and had to curse her or something. In Apollo’s opinion she was lucky because he didn’t outright kill her or something worst.
But, apparently these people meant business with this war stuff and whatnot. To shorten it out Apollo had a son living in the city, his demigod son would have enough power to protect the city but, was assassinated outside one of his temples before he could reach the age in which his powers would activate. You know because leaving a demigod on the enemy side was dangerous . It should suffice to say Apollo was angered by this, and all parties involved paid for the offense in blood. After the fall of the city, it was all sad, everything was destroyed and Apollo just wanted to forget about the whole goddamned deal.
Other than that Apollo had an awesome time with the Greeks. He had temples all over Greece, people just loved to make art about him and he was a generally well beloved and liked god. The Romans came and they also seemed to like him (although for some reason even unknown to him) they sang Apollo’s songs to battle. Apollo simply shrugged it off and answered to prayers even glad that there were new followers. He liked it how these new culture and people took to him. Though, he wasn’t completely in love with their conquering ways.
Christianity would change all that praying and love in the course off a few centuries, soon people was condemning and persecuting his followers. Apollo had disliked the way the Christians had been killed in the past. But, now seeing them do the same thing he could only shake his head and wonder what was wrong with these people. That was DEFINITELY not turning the other cheek. As the ages passed the wackier it got. Apollo just had to stand and roll his eyes at the dark ages. He could understand people being protective of their belief but, it was frankly ridiculous. The Roman Catholic Church was saying Jews ate kid’s blood and all sort of silly things.
Certainly not Apollo or any of his siblings had nothing to do with this ‘Lucifer’ guy. But, of course this Lucifer was real and to be feared. Not that the brainless people spewing these lies would even know. Unless they died you know, because Apollo was perfectly sure were they would be heading according to their own beliefs. Even by Olympians standards rampant senseless murder had to be punished. On the other hand it wasn’t entirely bad at least he could rest up from the constant prayer answering he had to endure once upon a time.
At some point Apollo happened to have a run in with a physician he actually liked. The man was so civil and nice to him that Apollo uncharacteristically bestowed to him the gift of prophecy. Of course he did this without the man knowledge because if he had told him about his powers the next thing would be this man pointing a finger at him yelling ‘devil’ or something. The man would come to be latter known as Nostradamus. He seemed to have used the gift well and Apollo immensely enjoyed reading his books.
The plague was a sad time and Apollo roamed around trying to help people up. Even, if they hadn’t asked for his help. In his opinion, a little bit of cleanliness less poverty would have helped them as their society didn’t have a bunch of pagan healing gods roaming around to help everyone. Even with his escapades outside of Olympus to ogle at the mortals. Apollo experienced plenty of boredom or so he did until suddenly people started being curious and wanting to advance and find things out.
Suddenly the earth was round, there was another continent, people were out there printing stuff, and even the Christians changed: suddenly having your Bible in Latin was not so cool. Apollo had to cross over to the new land and explore around. His conclusion: dammed be mortals and their need for conquering. Other than, that whole awkward business of killing people, the Wild West was a blast. Saloons, horses, guns, those funny mustaches it was a time filled with interesting things whenever he wanted to mingle among the mortals.
Apollo would venture out to see the dawn of the industrial age. It certainly amused him that people was creating cars and buildings. Apollo did rekindle his love for humanity that had been long lost during this time. Apollo favorite moment of the modern age could be called the time when they went to the moon and named the program after him. He likes the fact that science and knowledge is highly valued and the fact that no one is burned in a spike for it, so far all good points for this century.
Nowadays, Apollo likes to pretend he is a human and mingle about when he is not hanging in Olympus with his family. He mostly does it to get laid. Apollo has taken a little advantage of his foresight abilities and made a small human fortune he uses to pretend he is rich. After all he can’t go around telling people he is “Apollo the Greek god”. He finds himself answering the occasional pray of a neo-pagan or some other kind of new age Greek paganism believer. He finds it funny that people get surprised every time he comes upon being summoned.
There was a place in Greece were a large monster that transformed resembled a sort of dragon snake lived. There were many rumors about this creature, it was dangerous, it polluted the waters, it was kidnapping and killing people, ruled and oppressed the humans.

“NO” - he said raising his voice, while closing with a loud sound the book he had been reading and contorting his face, his gaze fixated on the young Hermes. As usual, the male was grazing on his nerves with another ill fated attempt to rope in Apollo in his scams. “Besides if Zeus finds out, you are surely not escaping his punishment this time. You are not stealing from him and that’s final.” - His penetrating gaze flickered away as he would let out an annoyed sigh.
In many ways, even though Zeus was hardly a strict overbearing parent, in, fact he could be pretty childish himself. It was, however, a given that angering him was very unwise. At times like this, Apollo felt it was his duty as the sensical brother to remind Hermes there were consequences to his actions. Although, he was very aware that most of the time his advice went unheard. Apollo settled the already worn down looking book he had been reading many times over. The title cover read: “The Hidden Reality”, it was one of those mortal books he had enjoyed reading.
Apollo could have bet that his advice would go unheard, the way he was more or less used to every other one being ignored by Hermes. He then, stood up from the ledge he was sitting on. He stretched his arms with a severe looking expression and walked toward his foolish younger brother, placing a hand on his shoulder and looking at him with a dead serious eyes. He lightly grabbed his shoulder with a gentle squeeze. A common gesture for him when he wanted to make sure to let know Hermes he was about to say something important.
“Let me leave this very clear to you, if, you do that; I am going to try and stop you” - He said with a stern voice. He found himself very often watching over the younger boy ever since he stole from him. At first, Apollo had hopes for him; but, nowadays he was just glad he was even able to drill some good counsel in his foolish brother. Over time he had learned to accept that the very nature of Hermes was unlikely to change. Even his mother Maia had given up on the prospect of correcting the young Hermes. Apollo likewise disliked the way Zeus would often avoid teaching him some good sense.
Father was surely most at home under some skirt, than doing his proper parenting job. Apollo had been lucky because her nurturing mother had the appropriate judgment of teaching him and his sister to behave correctly in Olympus. Apollo lowered his head looking straight into his brother eyes the way he would always do when he wanted to make clearer his point to his brother. “Do you understand? And don’t even try to trick me. Because I’m not dad. I won’t fall for it.” - He then folded his arm with an austere expression tapping the heel of his foot against the floor.
He only hoped that just for once he would listen…
