Personality: He has a bit of a rough personality. He is most at ease when he doesn't have to be within the normal social constraints and can just do or say whatever he wants. However, he is aware actions have consequences and has probably been punched more than once for running his mouth in the past, so up until the time he at least finds out where a person's personals boundaries stand at, he'll keep his opinions to himself. Unless he is in a particular bad mood, or he thinks too little of the person involved.
He is very easy to annoy, but he has some amount of pride regarding letting things get to him and won't frequently attempt to act out or voice out his displeasure. He doesn't really feels he gets along with most people and prefers to be on his own. Nevertheless, he gets bored by himself, so he ends up seeking company. Even when he doesn't enjoy a whole lot said company, anyone will do if he is feeling lonely.
He doesn't do much introspection or self thinking, and morally, he is ok with almost everything, aside things that would bring harm to himself. He is not entirely aware of the emotions of others, as he wasn't raised to think much of them. He definitely tries to ignore any mushy feeling he feels himself, as it makes him feel confused, and he doesn't know how to deal with complex emotions. He's rather the type of person who prefers to keep things simple and/or easy.

History: Born in the Cathedral Grove in BC, Canada, Kevin came from a line of harpies that had a mindset that you could only receive your name if you made it to adulthood. He successfully snatched most of the food his parents brought to the nest. He became the strongest and biggest of the three. In order to cut down competition, he shoved his brother from the nest one day while his parents were hunting. Much to his surprise, his parents never made an attempt to ask what had happened to him and he never saw or heard about his brother again.
He continued to grow until he could fly. His first flight was all he ever hoped it would be, it was amazing. Much like any other harpy he learned to hunt for his food, switch into human form and talk human language in case he ever needed it. As expected as soon as he was able to live on his own, he went to live on his own, no tears were shed as he said goodbye to his parents. He found the human form comfortable enough to switch into it more than occasionally, to the point he gave up living in a nest and settled with some forest cave.
He would talk or interact with hikers, campers or explorers from time to time. Interactions with humans, were really easy unless the conversation delved into complicated issues like politics, religion or something else that the harpy, honestly, wouldn't care to give a flying fuck about. He was taught to be careful of revealing his non-human nature to humans and keep a reasonable distance from them. However, he was curious and ended visiting a nearby city. This really didn't end well, as humans don't grab food from where it is, or sleep anywhere they please.
It was more compounded by the fact he didn't actually had any identification papers. No ID, birth certificate, schooling diplomas, no records of ever existing, as far as the system was concerned he was never born. He was lucky the social service worker who took over his case was very dedicated. Digging out records this person came across the information of an adoption of a child abandoned on the woods, very near the city. Calls were made, copies of all documentation were requested.
The man, read through all the information and promptly interviewed Siofra. Because this person was very compassionate, they choose not to retraumatize Corbin and did not interview him, they got all the information to build a second case for his brother from her. He was given a Delayed Statement of Birth, was forced to learn to read and write along others things he never learned living in the wild. And he was forced to live with the humans for this period of time. The brothers were not reunited again, and it was, probably, at the time, the best choice for everyone involved.
Human's society was fascinating, but annoying too. They had rules on how to eat, they exchanged papers for things, peeing and pooping had a place designated for it, among other things. They cooked their food, cooked food tasted better, but he wasn't really the type to appreciate the difference, though he did love sugar. Sugar and sweets were the most amazing discoveries of his time among them and he would never ever be able to live without them on his life ever again. He felt blessed just to know sugar existed.
He took the first chance he had to live in the woods again. Even if he learned a lot, he felt more in his element there. So he worked as a lumberjack, and honestly spent the rest of his time living off nature. He just felt the need of having enough money to be able to buy things every once and then.

He sat looking at the window, it was a foggy morning and the image of the street below was blurry because a thin veil of moisture had clouded the glass. A soft sigh escaped his lips. What a tragedy. He had this year the seat right next to the window and the day had to be a shit day with terrible weather. A student sitting by the window should have been lucky enough to have something to gaze and daydream about while the rest of the class was doomed to struggle to remain awake while the monotonous voice of the teacher went on the background.
He looked at the blackboard and blinked a bit when he saw it was a simple problem to which he knew the answer for. He raised his hand in the air, without a second though. Teacher's pet they would call him later, he knew, but he didn't care. They were all idiots doomed to fail somehow in life or that's what he told himself constantly. God knows people like that are a waste of oxygen. His face lighted up when the teacher noticed his hand and pointed at him. He straightened his position and puffed his chest, an expression of pride and superiority fell on his face.
He got up from his seat to write the answer, but suddenly he fell flat on his face. Of course, this was always done, how could he forget? Someone had put their foot on his way and he had tripped like a fool. For a moment, he had let himself forgot where he was and that he needed to watch out for his every move. Fuck. His face was red from anger and embarrassment, he wouldn't cry, he would not let them see him cry. If only that street outside wasn't blurry, then he at least would have had that today.
