Personality: Diego is a hard working individual who understands the value of studying and putting in the effort for your goals. He works hard to make sure he can be a reliable coworker and friend, though sometimes he forgets to take a break when at work and can over extend himself. Cheerful and usually quite upbeat, he likes to make friends and is steadfast and loyal to the ones he does make. However if you do something to break that trust, he'll keep a slow burning anger towards you for a long time. He'll remain courteous and professional when speaking with you, but there will definitely be a noticeable coolness in his actions.
Diego has a super geeky/nerdy side to him that he usually keeps from others, finding it a little too embarrassing to tell people of his love for anime, games, and other hobbies. However sometimes that side comes out and he'll ramble on for a bit before catching himself. If given the okay to continue he'll tentatively do so until he becomes comfortable enough around people to not hide that side anymore. He has a bit of a mischievous streak, and enjoys pulling pranks on friends and coworkers. He can take it in return, having a good sense of humor and not taking things to heart when he knows it was just a friendly joke.

History:
Born in Yuma, Arizona, Diego had a pretty standard childhood. He frequently got in trouble with his older brother, and in general spent most of his early years running wild around the low income neighborhood his family lived in. While his family didn't have much by way of money and other luxuries, they were still very happy and made do. Gomez worked tirelessly to provide what he could, and tried to make sure he was able to maintain a balance between work and family time. He had had a very strong bond with his own father, and wanted to make sure he could form the same with his two boys. One day, after much planning and scraping together, Maria and Gomez announced the family was going on a vacation to South Padre Island in Texas. Diego was 6 at the time.
The family decided to go there by way of plane, just to make it an even better experience for the kids. As they boarded the large plane, Diego was so excited. This was turning out to be the best vacation ever! The start of the flight, everything was going well. Diego and Lorenzo were playing with some simply games and coloring books their parents had packed, and Gomez was sleeping one seat behind while Maria kept an eye on the kids. However, this flight took an ill fated turn. 2 hours in, one of the engines suddenly failed when faulty bearings inside exploded. The force destroyed the engine and sent debris spreading around. The fuselage was punctured, flight controls and electrical cables were severed, and the wing heavily damaged. Unable to control the plane properly, the pilots did their best to try and land the plane but were unable to do so. They ended up crashing into a field outside San Antonio, TX. Of the 215 passengers on board the Boeing 737, only 7 survived. The crash killed Diego's parents and brother, and it was a miracle he made it out with no more than a broken leg, broken arm, and a severe bruising. It took rescuers some time to comb through the debris to find where he was buried in the remains of a portion of the cabin, but his most distinctive memory of that time was when a police officer found where he lay crying. Managing to pull him out, the officer cradled the small boy while carrying him over to the medical team nearby. As the team rushed him to the hospital, the cop stayed with Diego to keep an eye on him until they got word of his family. It was that man that ended up being responsible for Diego's career as a police officer himself; he viewed officer Brandt as a hero, and wanted to be able to help kids like the man had done for him.
As his grandmother was his only remaining family, Diego went to live with her in Phoenix, Arizona. She raised him well, though the great loss from the crash always weighed heavily in the household. Camila introduced Diego to various kinds of crafting projects to help him turn his focus to channeling his grief through creative forms of art. This would lead to his interest in garage kits and models as he grew older, and is still something he turns to when upset. Diego was a smart kid who did well in school, working hard to keep his grades up to make his grandmother proud and to ensure that he could get into the schools he wanted to.
Once he was done with school, he turned his studying towards getting into, and graduating, the police academy. His work ethic paid off and he graduated with fantastic scores. The first time he put on his uniform he felt so proud of himself and how far he had come since the immense tragedy of his youth. He spent the next 4 years working for the Phoenix police department, supporting his grandmother and doing his best to make a good name for himself on the force.
One day he was on patrol and went to investigate a disturbance at a warehouse. As he walked around the exterior, he found himself no longer in the warehouse district when he returned to where the front should have been. Instead, he was in an entirely new place called Zeppelin City, with no idea how he got there nor how to get out.

Holding a small glass swan to his eyes with a gloved hand, the dragon carefully turned it side to side to examine. Finding no grime or dust, he smiled in satisfaction as he set it back down. A frown briefly flicked across his face as he delicately turned the swan a millimeter, smiling in pleasure once it was back to its former position. He picked up a delicate Ukrainian painted egg next and set to dusting it with the same care he'd shown the swan. His weekly dusting took him a couple hours to complete, but once he was finished he stood back and examined his precious trinkets with vain pride. After fawning over his hoard for a while, Delwyn plucked the cotton gloves off his hands and tucked them in their designated drawer, stepping to the bathroom to examine himself in the mirror. Carefully brushing his hair and checking the trim on his facial hair, the dragon grinned in delighted pleasure. Still such a fine looking specimen.
A chirp from his phone distracted him as he made his way to the kitchen to get a head start on his dinner plans. Frowning as he read the message, Delwyn sighed heavily and turned his path to the front door. His assistant at the funeral home had pleaded with him to come in, despite his day off, to help deal with the relatives of a new arrival.
"Why do some people have to be so damned difficult." He muttered under his breath, perturbed to have his day off cut short. He tucked his glasses into a case in his messenger bag, before throwing on a coat with a flourish. Dapper as ever, the dragon left his house and made his way to work, continuing to mutter under his breath as he did so.
