I have been hunting for years, way before I got to Zeppelin City. And not too long ago I found out that the Police department usually asks for hunters to help with different cases that they cannot take care of. This is why I went to the Station to give them my contact information and also started paying attention to anything that might sound like a supernatural case. That's how I ended up signing up for this one.
I teamed up with three other women that had also signed up for the case, and I have to say: the police department needs to start running background checks or something to make sure that the people who are taking care of these things know what they're doing. Turns out, none of the three women were hunters, they barely even knew the basics which left me in a position where I wasn't sure I'd be able to do my job because I felt like making sure they stayed alive would be more important. But all that aside, when we gathered, a woman named Tali explained to us what we were investigating: an old urban legend she knew from her hometown that involves a chair that appears randomly over headstones in graveyards. From what I gathered, this chair just appears and when people sit there, they start getting bad luck to a point where they always end up dying.
We brainstormed, trying to think of what could be either summoning the chair or making it so that it cursed people that way. The two options that seemed plausible were either demons or witches--or both. So we made our way to the cemetery; thankfully, I carry all my weapons inside of my car's trunk, so I was able to give them all some weapons so we'd be able to fight this thing, whatever it is. The problem is, it was taking forever to show up. We walked around for what seemed to be forever before the Devil's chair (that's what Tali called it) finally made an appearance; we sure as hell tried to be safe about it. We examined, saw some weird runes that--OH! I forgot to mention, one of the chicks is a witch. Her name is Zasha, but she didn't mention it even if it would've been helpful until it was extremely necessary (again, please make sure the people you send know what they're doing guys!); but anyhow, we found these runes that no one recognized, and instead of taking a seat I first tried putting a rock on the chair to see if anything happened, but nada.
After a lot of thinking and an attempt to burn it down with a flamethrower, Zasha told us she's a witch when I decided to take a seat so whoever is doing this would show up. And so we let her examine the thing in hopes that she would recognize whatever magic it's using. And while she was trying to see if she could get anything from the chair, Teresa ended up sitting on the goddamn chair and that's when things started happening. First, it was a ghost (or at least I think it was), a very creepy woman appeared, but it was fairly easy to get rid of her: I shot her with rock salt bullets, but of course, nothing is ever that easy, right? Right. Because right after, a man materialized out of thin air and started talking to Teresa. It was a demon, which we found out because Zasha exorcised it (which is a very curious thing cause she'd said she didn't really know anything about these things. I told them about the exorcism on our way to the graveyard but still... it's odd). I think it was trying to get Teresa to do something because her stubborn ass was arguing with it. Because arguing with a demon is such a good idea.
I can't say this is solved, even though the demon was exorcised I can't guarantee it's gone, neither the chair. At least we now know what it is and can fight it properly the next time it shows up. I had to take Teresa to the hospital because she was bruised and had multiple cuts from the vines that came up from the ground and tied her to the chair; my suggestion is to use a Devil's trap: whenever the chair appears, draw it right under it so we can find a way to summon this demon and take care of it. The chair itself is basically impossible to move, from what I gathered, but the best way to deal with it is just making sure the demon is gone for good. If more help is needed, I volunteer to go find the bastard.
