From the moment he was born, Liam has always been surrounded by hunters. It's even been told to him that rather than the typical 'mama' or 'dada', his first word was actually 'Cristo'. Whether this tidbit of information is true or just an amusing little story that's been passed around since he was young, he isn't sure, but he's willing to go with it. He grew up learning about the supernatural and how to deal with the things that go bump in the night from an early age, learning from not only his actual family but his 'adoptive' family, his mother's friends who labeled themselves 'The Guild', as well. He was well-informed and educated and properly trained and was surrounded by people who loved and cared about him and vice versa.
He was interested in his mothers work with her inventions from a young age, but had never really been given a front row seat to watch her work. He was about ten when he got his hands on one of her devices for the first time. Unfortunately this particular invention was, unknown to him, an explosive with a remote detonator. Liam will never forget the flashes of images he has from that day... of the car that exploded, the bright lights, the fire... the people who had been standing near it when the thing went off and, most of all, of the young teenage girl who had ended up a burnt, broken mess because of it. This was the horrific incident that inspired his want to become a firefighter... and also to keep his paws off his mother's things.
He was about thirteen or so when Katie Lining came into his life, having met his mother's hunting group. She was several years older than him at the time but she was probably his first real crush. She was around for quite a while, training with his mother, and as Liam grew up, the two of them became very close friends. On Liam's 21st birthday, Katie took him out for a night of bar-hopping and the two of them ended up in a drunken one night stand.
For the next few weeks after that night, things were extremely awkward between them. Where normally they would have spent hours talking and bantering and maybe even flirting, they were both so uncomfortable by what had happened that they could barely spare a word or a glance. But eventually they talked about what had happened and cleared the air, and things went back to normal.
It was not long after this that Katie discovered she was pregnant. She had no doubts whatsoever that Liam was the father, but she was afraid of putting their friendship back in that awkward state, so she made up a lie about the identity of the baby's father. To this day Liam still has no clue that Malcolm was his.
Recently, Liam's mother was recruited by Cyrus to help invent his time machine. Liam attempted to rescue her and was caught and is now being kept prisoner by him, serving as an incentive for Kennedy to now screw Cyrus over..

Isaac never managed to sleep as late as he wanted to these days anyway. Ever since Chris had been killed and Grace had decided to tag along with him on his hunts, he sort of felt the need to sleep with one eye open. Standard carefulness as a hunter had turned to protectiveness as a big brother. He had already lost his brother to a supernatural piece of shit.. he would be damned if he were going to let something happen to her. So he never really got a full night of restful sleep anymore... his sub-conscious wouldn't allow it.
On this particular morning it was about a quarter after six when he first awoke. He laid there for a couple of minutes with his eyes closed, just allowing his body to wake up, but it didn't take long for him to realize that the room was far too quiet. Grace wasn't a big snorer, but she did have a steady, rather loud manner of breathing when she was in a deep sleep. When Isaac realized that sound he had grown accustomed to wasn't there, he sat up and opened his eyes, looking over at the empty bed next to his.
Immediately, Isaac bolted up out of bed and started inspecting the room, a pit forming in his stomach that something had happened to her. But when he found no signs of any struggle, he let out a relieved sigh. Knowing Grace, she had probably gone out to pick up breakfast or gone out for coffee. He decided there was no reason to worry and started to make his way to the bathroom, pausing to retrieve his phone from the pocket of yesterday's jeans, which had been discarded carelessly on the floor.
He waited until he had taken care of his business in the bathroom and then made to call his sister. If she had gone for breakfast, he wanted to be sure she knew he was awake so she could pick something up for him as well. But he frowned when he saw that he had already missed a call from her. It was likely that she had already picked up the food and he had missed out on his chance for morning take-out, but he decided to call her back in case she hadn't gotten too far. Maybe he could convince her to go back through the drive-thru.
Isaac leaned in toward the mirror, inspecting (or admiring perhaps) his reflection as he speed-dialed his sister, held the phone to his ear, and listened to it ring...
