Marcus’ physical strength is quite average. Other than the protection of his magical abilities he is quite normal, he is not the guy to punch a hole in a wall but, he can utter a spell to make the wall come down. Hence, he is not as concerned with becoming physically strong. He can use magic to increase his body’s strength but, he is more likely to rely on the boost of demon possession or to use wide range magic’s attacks.
He possesses extensive knowledge of many languages and tongues. Basically Marcus has been living long enough to learn a bunch of languages and he speak fluently even death tongues (specially if said tongue is related to magic like Celtic, ancient Egyptian and Latin). He can read and understand some Enochian too.
Overall on his Magic:
Marcus is an old powerful witch. Magic comes natural for him, he can use several forms of it and he is a genius. He is one of the few witches in the world that has invented spells of his own. Added to that, in the course of his long lifespan he has learn a lot, he knows many spells, invocations, magic words, potions and curses. He can use raw magic for more than a few purposes. He is very powerful and very knowledgeable. He is very intelligent.

Power stripping spell: This is a spell made in conjunction with all of the members of the council. This spell basically drains the natural ability of witches to use magic. When a person has transgressed certain rules the spell is used to render them powerless. Unknown to the members of the council is the fact that Marcus is powerful enough, to carry the spell on his own at least in one person. The usage of this spell all by himself would severely weaken Marcus. This spell is only intended on witches it cannot strips the powers or abilities of supernatural creatures. Also it depends on how old and powerful the intended targeted witch is.
Block of aura reading: Marcus can block his own aura from witches with aura reading powers. This also helps him to conceal the dark tones his aura has gotten from his secret practice of Black magic. He can even create a fake aura for deception purposes. This illusion constantly draws magic from him and he needs to keep recasting the spell for it to work. He likely is not using it most of the time. The spell remains active when he is around Amelia.
Demon binding Spell: Marcus can posses a demon possessing him. With this spell he is rendered virtually immune to the possession of Black-eyed demons. The spell is not intended to work on the possession of red-eyed, yellow-eyed or WEDs. He can force a demon to stay inside his body for as long as he wants, he can use all of the demon’s abilities and powers. The spell also allows him to force the demon out of his body whenever he chooses or to send them to hell. Demons under the spell are compelled to do Marcus’ bidding:
He uses a mix of his raw magical abilities and power of will. Then he performs an elaborate ritual of his invention to seal it through. The spell locks the demon inside him much like a devil’s trap and at the same time makes Marcus vulnerable to Holy Water, Palo Santo and Devil’s trap. Though, the last only bind the powers he draws from the demon not his own magical abilities.
Demon attraction Spell: This spell can force a demon possessing someone or generally being smoke in his vicinity to come over and enter his body. The demon then becomes his. The spell will not attract any kind of demon because Marcus is not an idiot. It is only intended to attract Black Eyed Demons.

Personality:
Marcus has a really twisted personality since he sees himself as a good guy despite of his often ruthless methods to deal with threats to himself, his family or his covens. He thinks he is doing what he has to do to keep everyone in the coven safe. Marcus is very protective of members of the coven. However, Marcus is not above trimming the tree if he feels a person is useless or a hindrance to his plan coven member or not he’ll get rid of that person. Marcus is always searching for new ways of attaining power and he is always prepared to cross certain lines just to ensure that no one else is on top of him.
He is very protective of his family and tends to disdain the lives or well being of strangers unless he can benefit from it. He doesn’t have too much qualms about using people to achieve his goals and he will even manipulate their emotions or love for him to his own benefit. Marcus is, however, kind to his pets; he’ll never treat them badly if they are absolutely loyal to him. He even rewards loyalty as he is always kinder in his ways with people that is extremely loyal to him. If a person is loyal to him he will make sure that person is protected.
He is very strict to coven members and is probably well known for his rather serious character. Marcus is nonsense kind of leader. With his kids; that’s the only time he ever shows another side as he is very kind and caring around them. Marcus is extremely wary of the people they hang out with and once cursed a boy that pulled of his daughter’s hair in kindergarten making her cry. And he personally killed the vampire that bit and turned his son.
Marcus has a mayor thing disliking demons because of previous unpleasant encounters in the past and he often has a need to torture them or use them for his own plans. Marcus only shows his dark side to member of his dark coven, this side of his can be pretty damn scary as he is completely a different person. History: Marcus was born in Scotland circa 1300, as at that time people births were not recorded he doesn’t know exactly when he was born (or cares really). He lived in a small modest house that was more a hut than anything else. His father came from a long line of witches and practiced magic but, his mother was nothing else than a normal human woman who knew nothing about magic.
His father married her against his parent wishes Marcus’s mother was a scam artist and she used to lie to get her way through life. Marcus father was a good witch so unlike his mother he would always try to tech his son to be a good man. Marcus learned from a pretty young age to do as his mother would tell him, because it benefited them better. He did anything to please her even if it involved lying to other people (or his dad). His life went about normally this way until he turned 19; this was the moment when he found about his father’s heritage he then insisted in being educated in magic.
Marcus quickly picked on everything his father taught him. He had a natural talent for it. It became clear for him that his father was rather reserved in the usage of magic not daring to use it for his own advantage but, rather to help others. When he turned 25 he went on his own searching for other witches. He was Twenty-six years old when he joined a Coven for the first time. There, he would learn more magic and would even practice group enchantments. Marcus was enjoying the company or alike minded individuals that understood that magic could give them everything they could ever want in this life.
Then, something horrible happened one of the members of the coven was a demon and it had been using the others to corrupt them and send them to hell. Marcus barely got out of there alive and only because his natural talent allowed him to counter the magic that was being used to try and murder him. From that day Marcus turned on to find out more about demons at first, his only discovery was that they could be harmed with holy water and exorcised. But, Marcus would not waver in his search he was committed to his goal of never ever find himself under the thrall of a demon’s grip.
Marcus devoted many years into his search for a way to bind demons; he learned of devil’s traps and even learned about the location of some of the hell’s entrance. His long search was far from over when he met Alexander Parsons in New England. Marcus stayed by Alexander many years. By his side he met many other witches among them it was Robert Spellman. The three of them and 10 other witches became very close and started to practice together. They would meet in secrecy often to practice magic, learn from each other, share stories and help each other with their lives.
They eventually decided to start a Coven of their own. They called it The White Rose Coven. Marcus liked the rules the founders had set for the coven. Once again he found himself in a circle of similar minded individuals but, this time his zeal to protect his new found home was stronger than anything else. Marcus promised himself this coven would never go the wrong way and he would forever protect it. Even if doing so would cost him more than his life. Things were fine for a while but, then Jonathan Chamberlain and Susanna Chamberlain were burned alive inside their home.
Marcus suspected they had been murdered by their neighbors who were afraid of magic and correctly guessed they were witches. He brought up his suspicions to Alexander, (the leader of the coven at the time) who dismissed his allegations and said it was probably an accidental fire. Marcus was enraged. It was obvious from his previous experiences visiting them, that the neighbors weren’t friendly. Alexander was old enough to know there was such a thing as ignorant people who would be willing to murder someone on the faint suspicion of sorcery. But, if he was ignored like that what could he do?
Marcus had to swallow his objections and sit on the sidelines for the moment. The rest of The White Rose Coven backed Alexander’s decisions. He never forgave Alexander for ignoring his plead and distanced himself emotionally from his old friend after this. When Peter Baily was hanged Marcus wanted to enact revenge on the humans involved in accusing him and killing him. Alexander stopped Marcus as he was heading to do that. He was locked for 15 days until he agreed to let the matter go. He only stopped; because Spellman convinced him he would be exposing The White Rose Coven.
After this he was convinced he was the only one who could protect the coven, but to do it, he needed to become stronger. Marcus then took on to summoning demons and going even deeper into black magic than he had before. Once he had enough tries he finally mastered the trick of controlling them to do his biting. He even found out how to control them while they were inside his body. Experience though, taught him that he could only control black-eyed. Red-eyed demons were more powerful, unpredictable and had lived longer; therefore were more experienced and in better control of the body. It was fine; after all, all of them did deals and posed a lesser threat for his coven.
Time went by and many of the original members died with every death Marcus grew more resentful of Alexander’s inability to help or prevent the incidents. What had the coven accomplished? Marcus could take care of himself more than enough, but the others depended on a strong leadership to survive more than a century. The point of the unity of the Coven was to protect and help each other. Marcus was about to try and raise his concerns with the current council when he fell deeply in love. Marcus had lived a long life and been with many partners but, he had never experienced love until that moment.
He started to believe that maybe he should settle down and just relax with her. Maybe even marry her (really Marcus was not a strong proponent of marriage). When Marcus learned she was pregnant he was overjoyed. Marcus stepped down from the council and decided to retire to be with her. He stopped practicing black magic altogether and rid his body of demonic presences. It was an odd thing but, Marcus was fine just to live with her. Marcus’ girl was very adept of using magic to help others. She would use a spell or two to cure people and was always willing to offer magical help to those in need.
Because of this, the council started to believe she could expose the coven. It was decided then, that she needed to be stopped. Having stepped away from the council and fully into the role of parent Marcus was blissfully oblivious to their plans. And one day his wife fell into a coma. Marcus tried everything to wake her up but, nothing worked. He was heartbroken. Marcus found out his wife had been put into this state by the council to stop her from helping humans because they felt hear actions attracted too much unwanted attention.
Marcus was… well to say he was angry would have been an understatement. Marcus decided to find out if which members of the coven’s council had been involved in the decision. He once again took his place in the council (feigning very well he understood why the decision to make her sleep was taken). He had to avenge her if he couldn’t help her, and he had to take care of two children, now as a single parent. Marcus was surprised to find out that Alexander had been the member of the council to push up the agenda. The man even proposed more drastic tactics. Marcus decided it was time for the man to go.
He had failed to protect the White Rose Coven and top of that, doing that to his wife was a clear betrayal of his trust. Besides it had been his original plan to take him out since they had not been on good terms since the Salem trials. He had to work in carefully chosen steps after all he still had to worry about the future of his kids and the coven could still serve the purpose of protecting them (and Marcus had not many problems with the other witches within). Marcus enlisted the help of one of the women from the coven.
She fell in love of Marcus and wanted to help him. She even went as far as to commit the murder for him. That way Marcus was in the clear, unfortunately she was killed for the crime of assassinating the leader of the Coven. Her baby daughter, Aloria (who was Marcus’ kid not her husband), was given to Lily Bishop, for her to raise her, as a normal kid, since her mother’s magic was believed to be tainted. Marcus was elected as the new leader of the Coven and he stepped in to lead the council. Marcus was finally in a position of power in which he considered he could actually take the wise choices to ensure the survival of The White Rose coven.
Marcus decided most of the coven was unable to do things… unpleasant things that needed to be done. For that reason he started to recruit skilled magicians to form a Dark Coven completely loyal to him. With this coven Marcus has effectively dealt with any of the threats to the White Rose Coven and to his family.

RP Sample: Marcus blitzed across the highway in his car. It was a good nice to be our and the wind moved through his hair pushing it back as he kept driving. Very soon it would be his marriage anniversary and he knew he didn’t have the heart not to get in a very dark place of his soul when that day came. He cursed again his luck. He still had his kids and the Coven and to a certain extent he was ok. But, he missed to days when he actually thought he was truly happy when all he had to worry about was providing for his family. Marcus’s car suddenly disappeared and he found himself visiting her bedside at the facility that still kept her alive. Marcus could never pull the plug on her. Not on her. He sat next to her holding her hand a wave of healing magic coming off from his fingers as he took care of her bedsores.
“I’m sorry, this was my entire fault. I should’ve protected you. I should have had him killed sooner.”
“But, don’t worry I’ll find a cure for you. Just wait for me. I will. ” – he said as he leaned to kiss her forehead tenderly, narrowing his eyes with sorrow afterwards.
